Best argument for Shaw being there is that WE JUST SAW HIM DIE.

The Shaw we saw die and the one who appears as a ghost look very different.

Once again, if you think his ghost should have been scarred, then Obi-Wan’s ghost should be missing his lower half.
It’s clearly the same man.

The difference is that Obi-Wan wasn’t cut down until he died. Shaw’s ghost is appearing as someone who never existed.

Idea: Editing SW into a Game Of Thrones style tv series
Time

You say there’d be tons of movies to work with, but then go on to say that 3 of them are in the wrong timeframe. Also, ESB and RotJ are too far from the rest but the gap between RotS and ANH is no big deal? Even filling in that gap with spinoffs, you still have much big gaps. In your place, I would just use it all. If you wanted to, you could make TPM take place not long before AotC by simply making young Anakin a different character. Sure, it’s not a perfect solution, but it works. However, that doesn’t really matter when you’re still stuck with much larger time skips between trilogies that can’t be ironed out so easily. Maybe with a lot of work, you could pad out the gap between RotS and ANH using spinoffs (like placing RO opening where it would be chronoligcally mixed in with…some other stuff), but good luck trying to smoothly transition from RotJ to TFA.

I don’t have a script ready or anything. I haven’t even come up with a single line of new dialog, and currently have no plan to. As things stand, I don’t need to dub him, but hey, it’s nice to know I have the option. Honestly, it’s one of the more “out there” ideas on my list that I probably won’t do, but put down just in case. Feel free to record yourself reading some of Anakin’s lines to show me. Maybe we could just dub him without changing any lines, since you’d still have the added appeal of matching Matt Lanter’s voice in TCW…that is, assuming your voice is in fact pretty close.

General Star Wars Questions
Time

Given the earlier discussion, especially the mention of Qui-Gon cutting the door, I feel this ought to be mentioned. Honestly I’m a little surprised it hasn’t been.

Concerning Cinemasins, I think you can at least get a laugh out of them, even if you don’t always agree with what Jeremy says. Shaun is working himself over nothing. It’s not meant to be taken seriously…at least I hope not.

What 'a Star Wars Story' / anthology / spinoff film would you like to see?
Time

If they do make a Boba Fett movie, they could have him find out that he’s actually not a clone, so he spends the whole movie searching for the identity of his mother.

I think they should really make a comedy movie. Something along the lines of Tag and Bink, if not exactly that, where we follow new characters getting into all sorts of silly situations. Now that Tag and Bink are canon and in a lived-action movie, well who knows?

I’m not against a Yoda movie in principle (though I really don’t see a need for it) so long as it’s not set far in the past so as to preserve that mystery.

I’m not kidding when I say there’s potential in a Jar Jar movie. It would be a comedy for kids, but hopefully aim for something more respectable than your average Despicable Me or Ice Age. The fact that it’s Dinsey we’re talking about makes me think they’d know better than to make such low-brow garbage. That said, they certainly know better than to make a movie starring the most hated character of all time. Personally I don’t think Jar Jar is a fundamentally flawed character. They just need to stay away from toilet humor. George always said that he was based on the antics of Buster Keaton, so try to do something more along those lines. Probably best to give him a competent sidekick like Qui-Go was in TPM to provide a foil.

They’ve arguably played those parts longer than Hayden and Natalie did.

It’s really starting to bug me that there are hundreds of episodes set in the PT with all of the main characters. But seeing the OT characters is like an event or at least a treat, doled out sparingly and grudgingly.

I love Rebels, I do. But what I REALLY want is a weekly show set between Star Wars and Empire with LOTS of good old Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie!

Right they announced they were doing a new animated series after CW, I thought it was a given that it would be that. The title “Rebels” only further cemented my conviction. Then they through a curveball. This actually the same kind of thing CW would’ve been had it not been for Gearge Lucas insisting it be about Anakin and Obi-Wan. Ahsoka and the Twilight are what’s left of that pitch. I still hope they do a series like the Marvel comics set between ANH and ESB, but I no longer expect it. I think they’ll be moving on to something more ST-centric. Rebels has provide them with a supporting cast that could largely transfer over. Maybe some day…

What Didn't You Like About ROTS?
Time

Because there’s actually someone on this planet (maybe) who ranks ROTS ahead of every other SW movie other than the original (yes, even ESB).

That’s me! I’m not blind to the flaws though. I guess what I like about it is it’s pivotal role in galactic history. Everything is so grand, and we see how good became bad, how Chancellor became Emperor, how Republic became Empire, and, of course, how Anakin became Vader. It fails miserably at that last bit, but the rest is handled fine. It’s dark, but not for its own sake. It’s because it had to be. It’s a tragedy, of course it’s gonna be dark, and it manages to convey that darkness beautifully. That’s not to say the film is devoid of lighter moments, though, as the opening rescue mission demonstrates. Yeah, the “humour” isn’t particularly funny, but the atmosphere is still good enough for me to overlook that.

Grievous isn’t completely unecessary, as he does provide someone for Obi-Wan to chase. His four lightsabers are. Might as well have called him General Overkill. Speaking of his name, while yes, it’s not the most inspired, it’s by no means the worst in SW (that honor goes to Savage Opress) and grievous is a word I’ve hardly, if ever heard used in its traditional context, so in practice, the fact that it’s an existing word pretty subtle. Now back to the topic of his four sabers, it’s not like they aren’t cool, but he doesn’t make good use of them, and the movie is already way too crammed with lightsaber duels. Every other film has one or maybe two. This film has five. There’s so many of them they even manage to have two going on at the same time!

Speaking of which, I like the Yoda versus Palpatine duel. Sure, it’s not really important in the grand scheme of things, out-of-universe, since we know both survived and don’t really have any tension between them to resolve. The thing is, it’s just cool to see the two strongest force users in the Galaxy duke it out. Granted, if I’d been in charge, I’d have left out lightsabers altogether and made it an over-the-top shonen-style fight to demonstrate their mastery of the Force. In the end the duel’s short, so it’s not like you have to put with it very long if you don’t like it.

The dialog is awful of course, but at three movies into the Prequels, that’s nothing knew. While “Love won’t save you; only my new powers can do that.” remains the cringiest line I’ve ever heard in anything, the movie at least provides substance to make up for it. Yes, the ending is rushed, and should’ve been better spread out, but what we got isn’t half bad imo. It’s leagues better than the prior installement in the saga.

Like I’ve said before, I didn’t call myself Ender on this site to avoid confusion with a certain local Sith Lord. I then immediately regretted that decision. Even if I can’t manage to change my username (which I hope to), I will still refer to myself as Ender because that’s what I always go by on the Web (I don’t have the courage to introduce myself as such irl, but maybe some day). For all intents and purposes, it’s my name.

My solution for the Dooku background problem:

Masking. Very time-consuming masking.

It takes a long time to get it looking convincing in motion.

My plan is to keep him on Geonosis. The only problems are Jango’s presence and the camera angle, and really, it’s debatable whether those are even problems.

Do you think looping the Queen saying “Padme” can work for the visuals of her conversation with Dooku?, cause’ that’s all I’ve got on her side. I heard recently that the Queen’s voice was digitally altered to sound different from Padme’s, so I hope I can figure out what exactly the alterations were and apply them to Padme’s lines from her conversation with Dooku. I mean, I already tried, but I’ll try again. It probably just sounds off 'cause she isn’t using a british accent.
