Is there a way to make it seem like Anakin and Padme have secretly been smashing for a while before AotC?

Gross!! They’re barely 14 before AOTC!

Anakin, the youngest of the two, is 20 in AOTC. If you remove the “no contact in 10 years” bit, they could have been fucking for as many as four years without it being “gross” or damaging

Actually, he’s 19, the same age Luke and Rey were when they started their journeys.

Clone Wars Movie Series - Episodes (Seasons) I to V released...
Time

EddieDean said:

I’ve had one for my colleagues for the last few years, I’ve refined it now with as much info as I can glean about the current plan for the movies, from all of Smudger’s previous comments on Fanedit forums and here. It aims to give as much info as possible - original order, chronological, arcs, quality, inclusion in Smudger’s movies and proposed movies, and a hybrid ordering for if you want to watch the movies alongside the episodes not included.

Image defaulting to hybrid order (what you were asking for above) here: https://imgur.com/a/kKpdar1

Or you can play around with the list via filters here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wUlU_myy1Jgn2S59_fvuddCGpjQw3KTmav79lr0KeyI/edit?usp=sharing

Edit: Smudger, I’d welcome your input if any of that’s inaccurate!

Please update for V, now that it’s out. Also, you should change the period in the title to a question mark.

I feel like the problems with this series are too fundamental to be saved with fanediting. Mainly its focus on Ezra, who is blander than the act of eating bread and lettuce while watching Solo: A Star Wars Story. Really, it’s a show I never asked for (I wanted a show about Han, Luke, Leia, obviously), but there are things to like in it, and I’d like to be able to enjoy them without all the other crap. It also provides closure for TCW, following its premature cancellation. Any ideas on how to reassemble this into something worth watching?

Anakin - you say there things to like in Rebels - yet don’t mention what they are…

‘I feel like the problems with this series are too fundamental to be saved with fanediting’ - yet then post ‘Any ideas on how to reassemble this into something worth watching?’

Why do you feel the show requires ‘salvaging’? Just Ezra? What is ‘all the other crap’?

Honestly, I’m not sure.

What are your ideas? Other than to seemingly minimise the character of Ezra?

Nothing. That’s why I created this thread.

This is a thread on looking for input for a Fan Edit on Rebels, yes? (I imagine that’s why you’ve posted it in the SW Fan Edit section) - yet the OP reads as a lazy shitpost criticising the show.

Maybe re-tooling it with some more info from yourself - and making it something along the lines of a ‘Suggestions and ideas for possible Rebels Fan Edits’ may attract more of what you’re looking for - in trying to make Rebels a better / more enjoyable show?

I guess you’re right. It’s current title makes it seems like a topic better suited for General Star Wars Discussion. I’ll change it right away.

SparkySywer has an intriguing idea in taking which plotlines (and content) worked for you and making a short Edit out of them - maybe there could be several depending on what you enjoyed/interested about it…

I just remembered how everyone thought the Seventh Sister was Barriss back when she was revealed. How 'bout we roll with that? I can’t imagine a more perfect role for Barriss than an inquisitor. Just change a few lines so that she’s identified as Barriss and add some personal drama between her and Ahsoka. There’s plenty of quips we could replace here.

As for Ezra, he’s unfortunately the one character who’s in every single episode. Maybe we could dub him to have a radically different personality, in the same vein as an abridged series. I think that could work. Any ideas what his new personality could be?

If the idea is to make it look more realistic, then you’ve failed miserably. Stopmotion is not reliable for realistic VFX. It has a certain charm, but realism is not its strong suit. Of course it can do realism on a hollywood budget, but given no one does it anymore, I suspect it’s become a lot more efficient to do with CGI, and the results are usually just as good.

i dont want a realistic, i just want the prequels feels bit like they first than the original trilogy and feels like more connected or same universe, because i like these both trilogies.

I think deep down I knew this, but just didn’t want to admit it because I disagreed. Doesn’t make the slightest bit of sense, and I won’t try to justify it, but I think that’s what happened. Sorry 'bout that.

I didn’t really care for it, nor the 2008 Clone Wars series which gets so much love. Rebels, though, seemed more ‘Disney Channel’ to me, and so I did not stick with it through to the end.

I hope ‘Resistance’ is a stylized animation, not more fugly 3D people. 2003-4 Clone Wars Microseries is where it’s at.

Sorry, irrelevant, irreverent comment over.

Resistance is cell-shaded 3d.

Given all the previous series of this style have been 3D, I expected no less for Resistance.

RogueLeader said:

I don’t think that is irrelevant! This could be a good place to discuss the animation side of things and how it could apply to a show like Rebels.

To address Resistance, yeah, like Snooker said, it apparently is going to be 3D that mimics the style of traditional animation. I’m very skeptical but no harm in trying new things either. And yeah, the Clone Wars Microseries was great. I think obviously the animation side of the franchise is not going to appeal to everyone, but I also think there is a lot to like as well. And I think a lot of younger fans really love it, so even if it’s not what we wanted, there are others fans who really love it.

Exactly. Irreverence is relevant in this thread.

I do think that Rebels is far from perfect though. While I haven’t really thought of doing it myself anytime soon, I do think someone could possibly do a series of edits for the series. I’m not sure if you could make it a series of tv-to-movie edits like smudger is doing for Clone Wars, you could treat it like a miniseries or just shorter seasons, combining three episodes into one episode maybe.

For me, I wouldn’t want to cut out all of the goofy stuff, but there is a lot that could be cut out.
I also think it would be worth trying to change things, like [SPOILERS] kill of Sabine’s mom and brother with some rotoscope magic or something. And while there are a few filler episodes, a lot of the filler often ends up playing a role later down the road, like the use of the Purgills in the final episode.

It would be interesting to go through and see what could be cut for starters, and see what narrative changes you would like to make, if those changes are actually feasible.

Really, I’m not worried so much about cutting out filler, which one can already easily do by skipping episodes, as I am with improving the actually decent bits.

I don’t know how a person can be considered any kind of Original Trilogy fan if that person outright hates the concluding chapter and consequently finds the trilogy as a whole to be a flop, but whatever.

I don’t how someone could remotely call the oot a flop.

A flop for me.

So you actually think oot is a flop?

I hate Palpatine’s depiction

Get out. McDiarmid’s performance is one of ROTJ’s saving graces.

He’s a Saturday morning cartoon supervillain.

That’s what makes him so good. He’s evil he loves it.

I keep hearing the same RUMOR about Hayden . Where is it officially stated that he is coming back ?

I keep hearing JJ is going to tie the three trilogies together. That scares me. Im still irritated about the Darth Sidious reference in Last Jedi.

I heard that was an offhand comment from someone working with him, and not totally reliable.

I should probably manually copy paste quotes in the future to avoid posting a bunch of times in a row like this.

Having Hayden Christensen appear in IX is my single biggest fear for the film.

If that were to happen I’d have to write off the entire ST and I’d rather not do that. =/

If JJ legitimizes the Special Editions, I don’t know what I will do. I’m sick of the idiot PT and Clone Wars fans.

Let’s be more civil. Just because you don’t like the Prequel stuff doesn’t make the people that do like them idiots. We’re all in the same fandom, whether you like it or not.

And when has JJ ever expressed fondness for the SE’s?

Putting Hayden Christensen in IX would legitimatize the SE’s.

I’m just so sick of Ahsoka Tano. Anyone who calls Rey a Mary Sue needs to take a hard look at Ahsoka.

Oh I’m sick to death of Ahsoka. She’s really overrated. It made sense for her to survive to Rebels, but when she survived both that duel with Vader and the entirety of the OT, a lot of people, including myself, called it out as Filoni refusing to let go of his baby. She should’ve died on Malachor. End of story.

In terms of the Hayden ghost, I really can’t see Abrams unironically including anything from the Prequels in his film, which saddens me.

I am sure this person loved hearing that he “failed miserably” at something he tried to express and share . sheesh ,some people around here have the manners of a goat.

Specifically Anakin Starkiller and Frink

I will not refute criticism of my manners. I’m honest to a fault, and I know it.

Unusual Sequel Trilogy Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

Like I said in a similar thread, my ideal scenario would be a new ship, as right now the Falcon is in the awkward middle ground between “an essential part of every episode of the saga” like R2 and 3PO and “a distinct aspect of this particular episodic trilogy” like Luke and Rey. At least Chewbacca was sort of in the Prequels.

The Dream of the Giant Fractal Woodlouse.
Time

I was in a hidden room, being given a tour by the person in charge. They explained to me that they conduct experiments on how various foods affect aging. I could see tons of children in small vats covered in filth, presumably being fed nothing but one food. The experiments were highly illegal, due to how unethical they were, but I promised not to spill the beans, if only to not have a price on my head. We looked out one doorway into the hallway. There was a guy watching us. We didn’t go out. I was lead out another door into the hallway. There was a guy watching us. A moment later, someone came to tell us that guy was watching us, and I told him I knew.

Now I was heading to floor 3a, which I reminded myself was floor 4. I was going up the stair, balancing some huge metal thing I was carrying in both arms. I reached the top and there was a cafeteria. I headed right to order something to eat. The line wasn’t moving, and everyone, including the one taking the orders, was dancing, so I left. I went to the counter directly in front of the stairs (though some distance away) and looked to see if there was anything good to buy. I decide I’ll get the egg muffin again, and head left to the start of the line. It’s a pretty long line, and more people are getting in line, such as a group of three who were in front of me in the other line. I follow the group after them to get a tray, but make sure to hurry to get in line before them. I realize the tray I grabbed, and half of the few remaining were actually folders and went “fuck it” and quickly tossed it back and got in line without a tray. I figured I could carry the two things I was getting in my hands with ease.

Later, I’m at a table with some friends. I can’t say my friend’s secret (he’s sitting across from me. btw), so I just say that I saw two secrets (the former being what my friend showed me, and the latter being the experiment I saw directly after), and they start trying to guess what it is. I tell them they’re not some events, but rather
organizations. Before I let slip more about these secret societies, I think an alarm conveniently rings, and we leave.

Now we are outside. Among the crowd, there is someone dressed in a blue attire with a kipa, who for some reason I deduce is supposed to be Jesus, and some followers. We head to the courtyard. The Jesus cosplayer follows, now wearing nothing but a robe and what I can only describe as Hela’s crown from Thor: Ragnarok (a movie I haven’t even seen). His followers are preparing to mount him onto the clocktower clock to represent the crucifixion. I think to myself it was funny at first, but this is getting out of hand. I try to back away to the most neutral position I can, avoiding siding with another group that, while also against this act, were firmly and proudly christian. Thus I place myself between the two. Then the fireworks start. Someone starts lighting them from the center of the courtyard, and sending them flying upwards. I head to the back of the courtyard where the anti-crucifixion-reconstruction Christians were. I’m too busy blocking my ears to actually watch the fireworks, for some reason. Many of the fire away from the courtyard, further out from where I am.

Suddenly, a responsible adult steps and says to stop the fireworks. The person lighting the fireworks doesn’t hear, and lights another match. Someone closer to him repeats what she said, and the guy hears, turning off the match by grasping the flame with his fingers. She heads from the back area where I was to in front of the clock tower, and I follow. She says “Your coins are now useless. All that YouTube ad revenue…” No one is allowed to exchange any money. I say “Finally! These people are insane.” in reference to halting the dangerous crucifixion reconstruction, which involves putting a person very high in the air, and the unauthorized start of the fireworks. I head off the way I came.
