Doctor Who Edit Ideas
Time

Deep Breath is a bore already, and it certainly doesn’t need 76 minutes, so you could easily cannibalize bits of it to sprinkle throughout Series 7 to establish that she’s still living in Victorian London. The Crimson Horror would flow very naturally with that, being the equivalent of modern day stories for other companions. It’d be nice if we could show or at least imply her family living in that time (and remove them from Time of the Doctor, of course). The Bells of Saint John could be moved to right before Name of the Doctor, and Danny Pink could be introduced there. Nightmare in Silver could be edited so that the children she’s babysitting are from Victorian Times, with a line to address their modern wardrobe (and Clara, for that matter). Then by Day of the Doctor she’s all settled in modern times in the hopes of winning the heart of Danny Pink, and Series 8, minus the bits moved to 7, plays out the same as in canon.

On a different note, in Time of the Doctor, instead of the resetting of his regeneration cycle causing the Eleventh Doctor to rejuvenate momentarily before regenerating, have him actually regenerates atop the bell tower, and simply using the holograms from the otherwise pointless “I’m naked” scene to appear as his young self with a prerecorded message from his old self while he’s really the Twelve Doctor momentarily dazed from his regeneration.

I don’t think the Jedi should be sent to find Anakin, only for the council to change their minds. Not only that, but it’d be weird for the Jedi to be able locate all Force-sensitive children in the Galaxy (although TCW says just that). Besides, I think Anakin works best as someone they find along the way. Thus, if you want to leave all of Naboo to the end, start with the Queen’s ship landing on Tatooine for the same reason it did in the canon cut; they were escaping Naboo with the Queen to take her to Coruscant but were shot down and need a new hyperdrive. Plus, you could open with an action scene that way (them escaping the Trade Federation).

The reason ANH gets away with the slow Tatooine bits is that aside from the opening scene, there isn’t any action prior to it, so there isn’t much momentum to kill. The Prequels, or at least two of them, sandwich Coruscant snoozefests in the middle between two stretches of thrilling action sequences.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place

If you’re mad the new Ghostbusters or Doctor Who star women, there’s something wrong with you. It’s okay to be mad about other aspects of those things, but complaining about gender swaps is not only sexist but above all else really petty. I don’t see reason to believe Alien wouldn’t work with a male Ripley, but then again, I haven’t actually seen it, so I can’t really say.

Doctor Who: Series 11 + Special Edits (a WIP)

It’s the only TV opening that I consider legitimately bad. The music is nothing terrible, especially compared to the awful that came right before it, but it’s not very good. The visuals, however, good god, the visuals. They ought to fire the guy who made that (and hire the one did the “Ink” titles, while they’re at it). It’s just so terrible.

So I finished watching Scott Pilgrim a few days ago, and while it was mostly perfect, I will say the music was pretty forgettable. I think there’s potential in an edit that rescores the film. Staying within the theme of rock and video games, potential songs include Misery Business, Blitz It!, Make a Move, Mario Minor, and Mega Man 2 Wily Castle 1.

It’s a way of saying “this planet is the most uninteresting thing in the Galaxy; there are hundreds just like it”. But yeah, I would like to give each desert planet personality. Or maybe just stick to all three being Tatooine. Regardless, I’m not gonna leave it as lopsided as it currently is with 2/3 being Tatooine. Learn poetry, damn it.

Taking a page from Jakku and the ST, what if Anakin’s home planet wasn’t Tatooine. It feels weird having Jakku as the protagonist’s home desert planet without it being Tatooine, but with Anakin from a different planet as well as making Tatooine feel less like some special place where lead Jedi come from. This would only affect Episode I, as Shmi would still on Tatooine in Episode II because of the Lars. Watto having sold her, it’s easy to imagine she might’ve been taken offworld.

Yeah, it did, but shockingly, none of it felt like save for one level on D’Qar. I’m also shocked that despite the large gap between the two games’ development, there are some assets like music and animations carried over directly from TCW. Specificly, I’m referring to the animation of stabbing a lightsaber into a walls, and the Imperial Elevader March. I must’ve played these games relatively close together to notice that. I agree TCW is underrated. It has the most sophisticated gameplay of the bunch. TFA has all the quicktime clutter I hate about the modern games.
