The lightsabers will be fixed, especially the green one in ANH. That black smudge on the Emperor in ROTJ? Gone. Those boxes around TIE fighters in ANH? Bye bye! The magically appearing TIE's in the ROTJ space battle? I don't know about that one honestly. It's won't be like that Adywan Revisited stuff though. I'm as anxious to see it as anyone to see it all on my 55" plasma!

Maybe. Episode III was released on VHS on UK, IIRC.

ok then, answer me this: If the trailer is no indication of what the blu-ray set will look like and that they have just used stock footage from the old releases, as some people have said, then why have they used the new transfer for TPM? Wouldn't that be the old footage too?

Agreed. I had hope that it was stock footage at first too, but those TPM parts look too great to be from the DVD.

When I see the TPM puppet I see a puppet, when I see the PT CGI Yoda leaping around with a deadly weapon I see an inexcusable farce with all the irony of Buffy Summers' impersonation of Gandhi only unintentional.

TPM Yoda aside (which in my opinion is only believable on TPM Visual Dictionary), both Yoda's have their limitations.

OT Yoda, with his mouth and general movement, and PT Yoda, with the lightining and texture.

You're missing the point. If a puppet doesn't look realistic or believable (which is the main purpose) then it looks as fake as some CGI. Realism and being real are not the same thing. And that's evident on many OT scenes.

Do you see Yoda as a doll, or as a living character?

Honestly, compared to the prequels in that video, the OT looks really dull with its coloring. Not that it HAS to, its that STUPID transfer.

I emailed my picture to Bill Hunt at Digital Bits, lets see what he says about it being the same transfer...
