The Clone Wars messes up continuity or how Lucas is still destroying star wars.

nevertheless everyone on this forum knows that every thread he starts is basically identical to any/all of his other threads, both in tone and oftentimes also in substance. So for you to read one such thread knowing full well that it's going to be, in your view, a "whambulance," only to respond with a complaint that such threads are getting tiring, is a little silly.

But I didn't respond only with a complaint, and this seems to be the right place to state how I feel about his threads. They lack substance and it's just to bash for no good reason. There is a name for that, but it seems doing that here is okay, so...

Have you been seeing the same EU I've been seeing?

Of course not. He seems to be the kind of people that would create a thread to say "Lucas crossed the road! Oh no, he just destroyed Star Wars by doing that".

Was star wars truly meant for children?

I can see that Lucas probably thought Jar Jar was funny but he is just plain annoying.

The comedy which even children get comes in the form of 3PO and R2 bickering.

I don't know. Personally, I don't have any problem with Jar Jar or C-3PO. But back then, 3PO was criticized by many as being annoying. And we all know how he's seen today.

Shrinking Star Wars?
Time

skyjedi2005 said:

The prequels sucked and are not real star wars, so to me their is no shrinking universe because the star wars canon is the original trilogy circa 1977-1983.

The Special Edition changes and the prequels as released are not a part of the original continuity as it existed in 1983.  So i declare them garbage and worthless.

Ironically, you seem very concerned with PT canon on the other thread. Why do you buy and watch "garbage" then?

Do you have a favourite stormtrooper?

At the age of 15 - and to this very day - this is the only Stormtrooper that ever stood out to me.  He changed the course of the entire story.  He overlooks that tiny piece - they leave the planet.  He found it - so our story began.

I love the way the shot is framed - the desolation, the sound, the voice, all of it.  A really fantastic scene that has moved me for 34 years.

His name is Waggo Borathyon. According to the EU he was the lost prince of a planet of sky-surfing hunters of giant flying fish. He returned to the Star Destroyer after saying "look sir, Droids" and eventually became enthralled in a conspiracy with an undercover rebel operative and the brain of an ancient Sithlord in a jar. He died 50 years later single handedly holding off part of an extra-galactic invasion by biological sadist aliens. His son is now a Jedi master working the reformed Empire.

See, doesn't the EU make everything cooler!

I laughed.

In Season 2 via the bonus material Filoni explains that Boba Fett and Jango fett are just random bounty hunters and not Mandalorians anymore.

George Lucas decision

Yes, they were never born Mandalorian.

Karen Traviss was right they completely destroyed the mythology built up carefully over thirty years plus in the EU.

Karen Traviss was wrong. She was the one who destroyed their mythology by "turning them into a bunch of Boba Fett's" as Filoni puts it. Which is true.

And the whambulance is getting tiresome.

The future of Lucasfilm

Let's assume TPM-3D does well at the box office. I would love for the Blu-ray 3D release to be an all-inclusive ultimate edition, complete with the theatrical cut (yeah, getting my hopes up on that), and the same goes for AOTC in 2013 and ROTS in 2014. When ANH hits, LFL should at the very least make the blu-ray a two-disc set that includes the theatrical version, same goes for Empire in 2016 and Jedi in 2017. I think it just needs to be made clear to Lucasfilm that we'll pay a premium to see the OOT restored.

It's not one movie per year. The breaks between them will be around a couple of months.
