I joined this community mainly because of Adywan's Star Wars: Revisited. I didn't mind GL attempt to make a special edition, but I wasn't happy with some of the results (I was even more unhappy with the 2004 DVDs). Adywan fixed those problems, and his work was interesting enough for me to register here. After some of the hype I had about his edit was over, I decided to lurk the rest of the forum, and realized it's main purpose. And although I've always thought that the OOT should be released in proper quality, I never made a case about it. Until now. And I have to thank this forum for making me care about the effort of bringing the OOT to the public. Most of the community is also great, as it makes me stick around more often than not.
P.S: Unlike many others here, I don't have a problem with the prequels. I like them (sue me). I never shared the thought that this place is also meant to rant about them, but unfortunately I can't make people think the same way as I do.
Peace.
Liam Neeson and Alec Guiness.
I wouldn't mind a Lando series with Billy Dee Williams, flirting lines, and commercial breaks with Colt 45 ads.

Wouldn't authors of the EU novels, comics and graphic novels need premission from GL to write those stories sense he owns the rights to Star Wars? I would think there would be some negotiation/questions on who the characters are and how it might fit in with the movies.
They get permission from Lucasfilm, not GL himself. But as far as I know, every author signs an agreement where it's stated that their work can be overwritten (canon wise).

That being said, it's ironic that the creator of Jar Jar Binks finds The Jolly Green Bugs irritating enough to despise him; cognitive dissonance and double standards cloud the Flanneled One's vision once again.
I can't see where's the cognitive dissonance and double standards here.
And what about the big mantis from ANH?

The music is one part of the show that actually has been improving. It started terrible in the movie with the techno and ethnic music, but lately it has gotten a more SW and Williams feel.
I can only complain about the techno/rock music (which is very rarely used), because the rest is pretty good.

The entire Mandalorian civilization is created based on how cool Boba Fett is.
Which is stupid. As Filoni said, it removes Boba Fett from his uniqueness. All the Mandalorians were made a bunch of Boba Fett's.

My wife and I have become devoted Clone Wars fans; we watch it every week and really quite enjoy it. I'm the real Star Wars nerd in the equation, but the show has made her like Star Wars again (me too, come to think of it).
She has said on many occasions: "If only they skipped the prequels and went right to this show, Star Wars would be unequivocally awesome again." (She may or may not have used the word, "unequivocally.")
skyjedi had a very different opinion on that thread...

Pity they didn't keep Lee on for the show.
He probably couldn't commit himself to such a long project. But it would be nice.

It didn't deserve a cinema release
I think that was the main reason for being so badly recieved. It was not made for cinema, it wasn't "the 7th Star Wars movie", and most reviews didn't realized it was a pilot for a TV series. Hence the surprise to many when they saw the premiere of the series.
But yes, the movie wasn't so bad. I enjoyed both Christophsis and Jabba's Palace parts. And they got Christopher Lee, so that's a plus.

Episodes I avoid at all costs:
The Movie, Bombad Jedi, Gungan General, Supply Lines, Corruption, The Academy
I think the movie is somewhat necessary to watch the series. While I agree with most of your avoidable episodes, I found Bombad Jedi an okay episode, specially how they mixed Jar Jar with C-3PO. And Supply Lines is a favourite of mine. It's a solid episode.
I would also add Blue Shadow Virus to the avoidable episodes.

I think the argument turns on whether the Cloud City facility is up to acceptable safety specs. Vader even calls it "crude". It's merely a plot device to get past the life form scanners anyway, not the sum total of the entire episode.
Anakin and Tarkin certainly didn't hit it off when they met. Next week should be interesting.
Indeed. I liked that they got Tarkin's voice right.
I like it, and watch it regularly. It's good, despite some flaws here and there. And the animation has been greatly improved.

Is Vader not allowed to have a single original thought?
Is Vader not allowed to learn from experience?
Gaffer Tape said:
Well, then why the bloody hell do you keep spewing out this crap that they routinely use this technology for freezing people?!
I never said that. I said that Vader knew it could be done beforehand. And this episode shows why.
By the way, it was a good episode.

They use that facility for the freezing and transportation of the gases that they mine!

One thing that gets me is that they have managed to make chewies face look like he does in the OT yet lucasfilm made him look completely different for ROTS.I never understood how they could get the face so wrong in ROTS.
The carbon freezing plot is bloody ridiculous though and completely ruins the danger of Han getting frozen in ESB. Lando says that if they put Luke in there it might kill him, so Vader tests it out on Han. Why would he have bothered if he knew it was a safe procedure?
Vader's line implies otherwise, as I've explained before. And the danger can be explained with the facility being crude.

I'd be shocked if it's the same as the 2004 DVDs.
Me too. If they are going to change it, at least do it right. I hope they don't keep the mess that came out on in 2004.

Speaking of which, that guy is everywhere...
"Oh no, they're using a Star Wars character from the OT. The end is nigh..."
That kind of complaint? Why not wait for the episode and judge it after it airs? Seriously, I understand that Greedo was unnecessary, but there's nothing wrong with using characters from the movies on understandable situations. Or even expanding the story of other. Like Yularen, for example.

Wow this thread has de-evolved into a TFN apologist piece.
What's a TFN apologist?
TheForce.net apologist.
Someone who excuses everything Lucas does.
Oh, but I don't.
