I'll be there.
I always thought the Academy was outside Tatooine.
TESB +1
ROTJ -1
TPM +1
ROTS -1
"The collars will be fixd."

... Yes it is?
Care to explain that?

So you were wrong, then :D
Because your opinion is a fact? That's not how it works.
Hey, as long as you fully and freely accept sentiments along the lines of "the prequels were awesome movies with great characters and acting" as valid "opinions", I guess one can't accuse you of hypocrisy.
Using a strawman now?
Whatever the case, you sounded pretty incredulous in response to someone calling Qui-Gon boring, so dunno...
Maybe because I never heard that before regarding Qui-Gon...

This time I'll vote for Empire:
TESB: +1
ROTS: -1

While we're on the subject of the duel....I know some of you don't care about fanedits but you might enjoy this.
That was awkwardly hilarious, Frink.
P.S: Yes, I was talking about the boring part.
twooffour said:
so we never got to know Qui-Gon that well, and he was kinda boring most of the time - so what).
Really?
Not at all. ;-)

What hasent this pos lied about?
He's a cash register?
Need help decyphering that?

I've never really understood all the cracks about the dialogue in the OT. Not the greatest sometimes, sure, but much better than the PT.
In my opinion, the difference is only in the character's charisma. I like Star Wars, but it's certainly not because of the dialogue.
haljordan28 said:
By lies I refer to him saying he never said he was making anymore than 6 films when in time magazine in 1980 I believe it was he said he was making 9 films. Then in an earlier interview at USC I believe he said he was making 12. Now he says He never claimed to make anymore than 6.
From what I recall, he said he wasn't going to make more than six. Not that he never said otherwise before.
He claims he always intended for greedo to shoot first. When gary lurtz says that is a lie and that it was shot the way it was originally because that is how the script was written and that if lucas wanted to shoot it with greedo shooting first he could have very easily done so even back in 77. When asked why lucas would lie abput that kurtz said he had no idea.
What hasent this pos lied about?
Again, I never read that he "always intended" for that to happen. I can be wrong though.
As far as what we were promised but never got. Lucas always said anakin was a fall from grace story about a great hero/jedi knight who reeches gret heights and then falls from grace and is seducded by the dark side. I can't speak for anyone else but I hardly see a hero/great jedi when I look at the anakin of the pt films. there is no reaching great heights there for there is no fall from grace. this punk is a disrespectful azzz hole from the moment you lay eyes on him in episode 2. there is nothing tragic about his seduction. 30 mins into getting to know his character you are saying to yourself "this guys an azz hole" if you did not know the backstory of him turning to vader you would expect this prick to turn evil just based on his attitude and his actions. some great jedi and some great hero we were given.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm having a déjà vu right now...

Dunno, I was just going off of what he posted.
Oh, sorry. Misread your post.
TV's Frink said:
Think he's just stretching the use of "lied" a little. Broke a promise rather than lied.
Or maybe not?
What was that promise?
haljordan28 said:
it adds insult to injury how lucas just dismisses all the wrong doings and the lies he has told and hearing people defend it. People have a right to like the PT films but to deny lucas hads lied and done wrong is just a flat out denial of the truth and not based in reality.
Right and wrong depend from the point of view of each person, but not lies. What has he lied about regarding the prequels?

I didn't give it a great deal of thought.
Me neither. Although I loved a reference to an in-universe historic event. Little things like that make us even more involved with that movie's universe.
I agree. The mention of some history between the characters, a reason why the princess has come looking for this guy, a reason why she's trying to get the robot to him gives the story depth, even if we don't know what she's talking about. In fact, to me, that unknown part of the story helps create tension, it engages us in the story. It did for me, anyway.
Couldn't have said it better myself. But I understand your point regarding the mystery and the unknown being lost with the rest of the episodes (both sequels and prequels).
Personally, I didn't mind loosing part of the mystery and get more scope/depth to both the characters and the universe itself. Once again, I understand your position.
In my opinion, it's not about the dialogue (The OT never had good dialogue, either). It's about charisma.
To each his own, I suppose. I still think comparing a (weak) character like Grievous to a cultural icon like Darth Vader means nothing. Many people who don't know Star Wars, can recognize Darth Vader.

Then you should vote for Empire. You're supposed to vote for your favorite per the OP.
Empire is going to win. It's more fun(?) to vote for TPM (which is my second favourite).

I was going to vote for TESB as my favourite, but it was too predictable.
Funny, I totally expected you to go for TPM.
I like TPM, but Empire is still my favourite of them all.
OT:
Star Wars:101 points
The Empire Strikes Back:101 points
Return of the Jedi:99 points -1
PT:
The Phantom Menace:100 points +1
Attack of the Clones:99 points
Revenge of the Sith:100 points
ELIMINATED:
none
I was going to vote for TESB as my favourite, but it was too predictable.
I don't know. It's not like Grievous was such a remarkable character.

Wait, in one single sentence you assert that a) stuff will be fixed and then follow that up by saying that b) you don't know anything about the blu-ray releases.
Does your brain hate itself?
