Honestly I want to drink now. The idea of going through and manually fixing the sync by a couple frames in either direction, scene after scene, sometimes shot after shot, for almost 10 hours of footage makes me feel ill.
Good post Neverar, but Luke does take a couple more actions of his own volition. For one, refusing to go with Kenobi was a willful action. Then of course changing his mind and deciding to go with him was as well.

That is correct. They put those Turkish bots everywhere to downvote the film. They even had some groups buy out the entire Theater, then ask for a refund, to ensure the seats cannot be purchased again.

Everything went right for Luke in Star Wars. He learned the Force, joined the Rebellion, blew up the Death Star, and got a medal.
You seem to have forgotten the part where he whined and got bossed around by his Uncle. Then the part where he did a stupid and let the droid wander off. Then there was the time he got his ass kicked by a sand person and was being dragged around unconscious on the ground. Then there was that time his aunt and uncle got murdered and his home was destroyed. Then when he went to Mos Eisley he nearly got killed in the cantina. Then while training against the droid he got blasted over and over again before finally succeeding.
He also got dragged under the water and nearly drowned in the trash compactor. He had to look on helplessly while his mentor was killed. He watched nearly all of his comrades get shot down and die during the final battle.
And then he won.
The more stupid the characters are, the better the Star Wars!

Good news and bad news on this.
First, the good: I figured out that I had a latency problem with my audio playback. Found a workaround with another codec, and so everything is good now in Premiere Pro. Files have all been combined, everything is working smoothly now.
Bad news: the sync in the original files is all ****ed up and all over the place. For a few scenes the audio leads the video by a couple frames. Then there’s a scene where the audio lags by a frame or two. And so on.
Only choice now is to go back and fix the sync scene by scene … for all 9 or 10 hours.

Movies with invincible male leads who are never in dramatic peril (such as most Steven Segal movies, where he never once gets hit) are as shitty and uninteresting as any Mary Sue vehicle.

TFA is a **** movie and if you want to criticize the filmmakers for being bad at their jobs and making a **** movie, go ahead. By all means I would agree with you. But this seems unnecessary and ridiculous and just detracts from your point.

Something we can agree on. This is another piece of evidence that shows OT Lucas and SE/PT Lucas are the same person. He didn’t change over the years. He just gained more and more creative control until he could indulge in bathroom humor and tonal nonsense as often as he liked.

Every time a new poster comes along to tell you how bad they are, you get mad and cry about it. Post after post after post. Literally not one poster can say a negative thing about these movies without you and the posse chiming in.

It’s just a weird, dumb movie.
He was one of several people who creatively collaborated to make the OT and its presentation magical. He deserves that much credit, but he is a fraud because he spent most of the last 40 years trying to take undue credit. Many of the things that people like most about the OT are actually not what he wanted at all. I do think he dislikes Empire Strikes Back, for instance. I do think the silliness in Return of the Jedi and the absolute juvenile presentation of the prequels are much more his M.O.
I think he just bought into the adulation and truly believed how great and talented he was, to the point where he thought he could just role out of bed and turn a vomit first draft into a movie after 15 years of retirement.
