I’m just done with all of them. This place has gone to figurative shit with all of their posts, and since no one cares, I’m not gonna care either anymore. I enjoy myself a lot more when I ignore Fo so this should be no different.

Um, you do realize that even if she had won, the Republicans would still have control over Congress, right? I’d call that a check on her power.

She’s a centrist neocon. She would have been waging war or paying militants to wage war for her across untold numbers of countries the world over. She would have continued corrupt economic and monetary policies that exacerbate wealth inequality and enrich the wealthy at the expense of the poor. She would have further entrenched the surveillance-police state.

The Republicans–which except for a few issues she’s hardly indistinguishable from–would have loved her. And the hypocritical center-left media would have lavished fete after fete upon her. The praise for her villainy would have been never-ending.

  1. Source??

I thought there were rules against conspiracy theories and ridiculous doomsaying.

Here’s an idea. Why don’t you get your politics from more places besides Rachel Maddow. I’m not going to do all of the work for you again, and watch you say “OMG source?” every time someone posts something that hurts your feelings, when these things have already been known and in the public for quite some time.

Here:

  1. Hillary Clinton quotes Dick Cheney verbatim on the campaign trail:
    https://www.google.com/#safe=off&q=hillary+clinton+american+exceptionalism

  2. Hillary Clinton told NBC News that she supported Trump’s bombing of Syria, but says there should be more of it.
    https://twitter.com/NBCNews/status/859464936296140800

  3. Hillary Clinton, the architect of U.S. interventionist policy in numerous countries:
    https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/24/magazine/how-hillary-clinton-became-a-hawk.html
    http://foreignpolicy.com/2016/07/27/hillary-the-hawk-a-history-clinton-2016-military-intervention-libya-iraq-syria/

  4. Hillary Clinton, the Senator who voted in favor of the Iraq War:
    http://progressive.org/op-eds/clinton-s-iraq-war-vote-still-appalls/

  5. Hillary Clinton, the woman who suggested the U.S. should rig the Palestinian elections:
    http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Report-Recording-released-of-Clinton-suggesting-rigging-2006-Palestinian-election-471129

There is an exhaustive amount of evidence that Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy beliefs would be very much in agreement with congressional Republicans. Actually, she would be further to the right than most of them.

As for surveillance and the curbing of civil rights, all you have to do is type a simple search into Google and you will be rewarded with innumerable articles-- different months, different days, different years–in which she time and time again says that the U.S. needs more government surveillance:

http://time.com/4150694/hillary-clinton-calls-for-more-surveillance-to-fight-terror/
http://www.cnn.com/2016/03/22/politics/hillary-clinton-surveillance-brussels/
https://fee.org/articles/hillary-clinton-and-donald-trump-are-in-lockstep-on-government-spying/

And as for trade and economic policy, she was for the TPP before she was against it:
http://www.politico.com/story/2016/10/hillary-clinton-trade-deal-229381

Leaked excerpts of speeches Clinton gave after resigning as secretary of state give strength to criticisms that her opposition to the TPP is little more than a campaign pose.

She was one of the people who helped design the TPP, then said she was in favor of it…then said she opposed it, when she thought she was going to win the presidency and the Republican congress was going to pass it during a lame-duck session of Congress last December.

She also refused to stand up against the Dakota Access pipeline, presumably because her banker buddies stood to make a windfall financing the project:
https://www.thenation.com/article/hillary-clintons-silence-on-standing-rock-is-a-moral-mistake-and-a-political-one/
http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/dakota-pipeline-protests/hillary-clinton-caught-between-key-allies-dakota-pipeline-n676356

I’m sorry I don’t have time to provide you with more than a dozen links from national news organizations, but I hope this will be enough for you. Seriously, just try watching something else besides Rachel Maddow or some nitwit’s twitter feed next time.

The lone bright spot of the Trump era is this resistance stuff. It’s nice to see the courts, Congress, the media, activists, and tens of millions of people in general, mocking him and his nonsense, not to mention his political impotence.

That’s the funniest thing about the relationship between him and his supporters–they have feel ignored and disenfranchised, so they willingly embrace someone who parrots their deepest fears and resentments back at them, but on the flip side he’s not doing it because he gives a **** or wants to change anything. He’s just doing it because they cheer him and that’s what he gets off on.

A.D. Anno Domini (1985) (* unfinished project *)
Time

OK just an idea of what I’m working on right now. The sync in the first sequence in Episode 1 is all over the ****ing map. It starts with an audio lead of a couple frames. Then there is a cut and the next part has the proper sync. But then later there is a brief cut in the same scene where the audio lags way behind, but that’s the only shot in the scene with an audio lag, then it’s back to normal.

Anyway you move onto the next sequence and the sync is right. But then the third sequence the audio leads by a couple frames again. Then you go about 20 minutes where the sync is good, and then randomly at the end of one very long scene, there is randomly a moment where the audio lags by half a dozen frames.

It’s a ****ing trainwreck. Curse whoever the hell put out the DVDs and VHS tapes for this. I can’t imagine it was ever produced or aired on TV this way.

If you add “people with common sense who simply dislike shitty films”, you basically get everyone who does not like TFA. Well maybe they already overlap with “OT purists who hate the PT” part.

I have to agree with this. I’m sure there are people who just genuinely enjoy these Disney movies for whatever reason, and hey that’s their thing, but I’m just as sure there are people who just want to like the movies and talk themselves into it. I remember when I was 17 and watching TPM at the theater and doing exactly that.

And Lucasfilm is aware of what he’s doing? I guess I’m not just not exactly sure what the difference is between this project and the restoration done by Team Negative or Harmy.

Mike is a professional with expensive, professional equipment and the know-how to use it. He has connections and access to better sources, on the condition that he didn’t release them to the public without consent.

Does anyone know what Mike Verta is using for his restoration? Is he working from a film print, or does he have access to the original negatives?

I don’t know his source, some others here might, but I know he doesn’t have access to the negative. He’s a professional though with very sophisticated tools and expertise for digitally cleaning up whatever source he is working with. He did some demonstration videos on his site if you check them out.

How else do you explain Qui-Gon and Obi Wan zipping around like the Flash in TPM?

The prequels are different and separate movies. They don’t apply to the OT, so I don’t consider them at all.

Maybe I wasn’t been clear… I actually don’t give a shit about rules for “active/passive protagonists”… I only care if a movie is good or not.

I thought Rogue One was awesome and could care less whether it followed some made up rules for screenwriting or not.

Those “rules” are what makes a movie good though. They aren’t arbitrary.
