p.s.  I really like what you (and various other contributors) did with the Star Wars Trilogy Theatrical Editions V3 DVD release!  Are the Star Wars Original Trilogy Theatrical Edition Blu-ray Set V2(BD25) also sourced from GOUT?  (I made it as far as like page 7 or 8…150 pages is ALOT to try an catch up on and while certainly helpful, I didn't feel 100% clear as to what's new even after a close read of your edited #1 post).

dark_jedi has actually said many times that we should forget V3... haha

This new version is also GOUT-sourced but taken beyond what we thought was possible a couple years ago. We've upscaled it, created a process that removes most jagged edges in the picture which was a big problem with the GOUT, and also removed a lot of dirt from the picture here and there. There's also been a lot of time-consuming work to remove glue marks and flashes that appear here and there, as well as correcting color errors like Vader's belt lights being pink instead of green.

The difference you'll notice right away though, is the restoration of the colors. Check this post I made a while ago to see a comparison where the difference is very visible.

Not only colors -- the difference in CLARITY is amazing.

Yea I really hate to say it but the V3 SUCKS compared to this, it is really dated and flawed, now I am not saying our new version is not flawed as well, but not nearly as much, this new Set is just miles ahead of that old shit, I am sorry for saying it but I have seen both and to me, yes the V3 is shit lol, now I know there are still a lot of peeps out there that still really love that Set, well all I can say to you is just wait until you see and hear this one.

Right on!  Thank you all for your very helpful replies (and especially to  dark_jedi, You_Too, and to all other contributors to this project)…that DOES help clarify the matter for me!  I am super excited to be able to watch the latest/greatest Star Wars Original Trilogy Theatrical Edition Blu-ray Set V2(BD25) version it sounds and (from the little color comparison glimpse provided by You_Too) looks pretty freakin awesome!!!

While I am quite glad to have the V3 DVDs and each of Puggo's various projects safely in hand, it looks like (in no particular order):

1) THIS Team Blu project

2) Harmy's Original Trilogy Despecialized Edition HD project

Thanks for the input but I am still not 100% certain on torrents, and spleen is always needing donations to keep going, I remember way back when that when they did not get enough donations the site went down for some time, well I certainly am not going to put something this big on a site that may go down, I have tried contacting walkingdork but he seems to not be responding to PM's anymore.

Also when the file sizes are 25 to 50 GB's, you never just upload that much, it usually ends up almost double before you have seeds, well we have a cap every month, so as of right now I am just not sure yet, and I still have time anyways, the copies for my Team and those that donated still have not gotten theirs copies yet and this is going to happen first, I am still trying to figure out the best way, something will happen, just not sure what yet.

Right on.  Keep us posted, and please let me know if there's anything I could do myself to help. ;)

I meant when they are released.  Or has that been discussed yet?

Still not sure, I am talking with someone now, but still not 100% sure, I hate fileshare sites because I am not paying to join to keep the links alive and for the speed, plus not sure who to trust anymore, and torrents are good but I cannot stand the hit and runners, especially when the file sizes are this large, so I might just have to do the newsgroups, but there are still a lot of members who do not use this, so just not sure, I will know more soon.

lol if I had a Blu-ray duplicator I would just take more blank donations and burn for people, hell as it is I hope my trustee home BD burner does not fail me lol.

So if anyone has any suggestions fire away, I will at least hear them out and think on them.

For my $0.02, I would say it isn't even close:  Go with MySpleen (at least as your primary distribution point…with ANYTHING else secondary).

Why MySpleen?

Reason #1:  Longevity.  Currently, your three Original Theatrical Cuts of SW, ESB, and ROTJ V3 DVD uploaded OVER 2 years ago STILL have 13, 16, and 13 seeders respectively!  So, it's not 40 each 5 years later, but that's pretty damn impressive just the same.  When you have a QUALITY product that people want (and a highly loyal distribution base, such as SW fans not able to spend their $20-30 a pop on retail theatrical versions)...you're going to get longevity!

Reason  #2:  Speed & Size.  Conventional DL sites (such as RapidShare and the bunch) are really inappropriate for file-shares much greater than 2gb due to speed and file size limitations (not to mention typical auto-deletion after 30/60/90 day inactivity).  Torrents are NOT thusly limited.

Reason  #3:   MySpleen is a PRIVATE torrent site (but with strong support for and from the members of this forum).  This is a group that on the whole DOES genuinely care about accessibility to projects such as this one!  And, for those who need more reason to do right, there is additional incentive to SEED in order to improve one's UL/DL ratio.

Obviously, you are already highly familiar with MySpleen...but especially for a release of this collectively large size, it would be my clear first-choice not for a lack of options, but because it's a SOLID choice for this purpose.

Truly sorry for the lack of updates on these 2 releases but I am still waiting on menu packages for a couple in front of these then I will get these and also waiting on case arts to be finished, ALL assets are done and have been done for a long time now, so hopefully we will have something to show soon and get out there, these files do no one any good just sitting on my hard drives, again real sorry it is taking so long, that is all I am going to say, because I said it would be "soon" months ago.

You_Too and I are actually ready to hit the ESB's now, I think we had our nice SW break and are ready to get back.

Stay tuned

That's GREAT news!  Looking forward to it! :D

All the best!

Corrected capitalization of "Puggo Grande" based on Puggo's preference. Here are the direct downloads of the latest subtitle files for the documentary:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108143349/Sources-Doc_English_edit3.srt

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108143349/Sources-Doc_French_edit2.srt

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/108143349/Sources-Doc_German_edit3.srt

(No changes made to johnlocke2342's French subtitles besides renaming of the file.)

Right on!  If we could find a fluent Spanish speaker or two willing and able to translate (plus any other language translations that we may still bring forward), I think we'd be looking REALLY solid.  To all involved, GREAT job! ;)

So, I have another anniversary surprise for you guys. It is very much work in progress but it should be interesting nonetheless:

OK, here's the comparison video. The color correction is just a temporary, one setting for the whole clip kind of deal but you'll see there's much more going on here than just color correction.

Thank you Harmy for your great efforts to bring us such AMAZING quality! :D

OK. I was hoping to have a release ready by now but since real life interfered, I can't release the BD on today's anniversary of the original premiere.

I did however decide, as a little premiere anniversary present to you guys, to release a little documentary that I was going to keep for the BD, which maps out all the sources used in Despecialized Edition v2.5 and give you a little peak behind the rontoscoping :-)

http://uloz.to/xg5L2HSA/sources-doc-new-mkv

AMAZING work Harmy!  I really appreciated your documenting even just a small portion of the monumental behind-the-scenes collaborative effort that has gone into producing as definitive a product as we may ever see…THANK YOU SO MUCH! ;)

Here are a couple/few mirrors to help speed things up (all 3 links will deliver an identical .mkv file to the one originally shared by Harmy above):
