STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION
Time

I' m in France. But I wonder if I can read the two systems here.

But if I understand well I guess I need the NTSC DVD... Hooooofff. Too much for my head now. As I said, I'll check all that in a few hours, trying to understand.

PS: Yes, my DVD's are in PAL, or at least the one I just found next to me.

Thanks for your precious help ! It'll take time to download via Rapidshare but it's ok.

Why doesn' t Adywan mention links for his own work ? Is it a secret ?

It's safer for a fan editor to release it into the wild and say "find it yourself". That way if Lucasfilm comes knocking they can't say "YOU posted it here and have links for it HERE, HERE, and HERE". This site also forbids direct links for the same reason. The link you were given used to be THE place for direct links, but the MPAA came a couple months ago and made them take all the links down. Scary stuff.

But Revisited is the greatest thing ever. Be sure to download the DVD-9 (dual layer) for all the bonus feature goodness. And visit the links in my signature if you want to see every visual change / fix Adywan made to the movie. He gave me 500 of them, and that doesn't count changes in movement, pacing changes, or audio changes.

Thanks. I'm not sure it's DVD 9. It says Adywan's STAR WARS - REVISITED: PAL

I'll look all that quietly later. For now I go back to work. Thanks to you once more ! :)

Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)

Ok JediMasterFisher, I misunderstood.

About EBAY, I think the root of the matter comes from the difficulty to reach the bootlegs on the internet. I think about the episodes 2 & 3 for exemple, as the GoodMusicians edits were the last, the very last ones I found on the web, after have (hardly) founded three, four or five versions of all of these bootlegs.

Indeed I found them at the last minute, while I was finishing the remastering and the selection (each bootleg provided something that was missing on the others, as for non-SFX versions of the music for exemple).

... So the guy who doesn't know how to find them on the net will be happy to find them on EBAY ! There's even a store, the only one specialized in film music in Paris wich sells complete and promo score for 30 or 40E/$, and most of their stuff are just downloads from the Internet ! (Youhoooo ! CINEMUSIC, do you read that ?!!!).

By the way, I know GM to be very critical about other fans bootlegs, but I can assure you you will widen your collection of clean tracks considerably if you sneak around correctly, as for the sound quality wich can be very interesting. This remark is available for GM too, even if I expect that he probably won' t accept to borrow tracks he didn' t find by himself.

You can download my backcovers here (500Ko - sorry I've no simple tracklist I could report here) to check what can be found clean knowing that I can't stand SFX's. There's just 2 or 3 far echoes here and there in the bunch for each score. I would be curious to know what comes from GM's version because I found it quite different from what I had. Nevertheless thanks for such a hard collecting work.

... And don' t worry about the commercial look of the artworks, it's not for sale ! ;)

Edit: I took the liberty to remove a lot of repetitive or alternate stuff for each, and made 2-big-CD's versions.

If you guys are still around, allow me introduce three sample tracks from my remastering of RotJ:

Leia is wounded/The duel begins

The dark side beckons

Leia's news

Then it makes a good shade between the big orchestral and the soft side of the score.

Please let me know what do you think about the sound, and what is the difference with the GM remastering you already have. If it is of any interest for you, I may open a new topic later to post my work.

Note: Beware, only ten downloads available.

I hear you on the transfer matter. The interest of the thing is the POTENCIAL of the sound. Worth to be aware that most of the usual score releases are thought and made like "industrial" products... How many times did I remastered my own original CD's and even discovered hidden instruments !

So if the transfer of the ESB LP's gives more than an idea of what it can give, the remastering of it would be... A bombastic pleasure !

I' ll share such a remastering with joy if we have a chance to grab it.

EDIT: Oh! I just rode your signature of Lucas quotation. So, what about a boring story with a special effect ? ;) Yes. It gives shit ! This was the second lesson from master Lucas. Lol !

EDIT2: PM sent to 20th Century Mark. However I'd like to say you all diserve a ass kicking on this RSO LP's thread for having ignored GoodMusician while he was proposing to clean the sound of your set. >:/ ... Gremlins attitude !

Quote: "ABC, are your remasters modifications of GM's scores or of the original SE releases?"

As I said on the previous page (you see this first post since two monthes wich have provocated a new discussion?), I'd like to hear GM's version of ESB... and I' m searching for the RSO 2LP records in mp3 or better.

ESB and RotJ are my own work with the Anthology and the SE's. Hopefuly, the SE's material is no more that 15 or 20 min for each. The good deal with the anthology, not mentioning the superior potencial of its sound, is the clean cut for a lot of tracks. Indeed I found regrettable (I hope this word is correct in English) that the SE presents the score as suites.

For "A NEW HOPE" however I borrowed a good half of the tracks to GM's remaster, because of many clean cuts I couldn' t find on the Anthology, and also because I found that some tracks sounded good despites the highs were too strong to my taste. But this was "correctable". As this score is shorter than the others, I was happy to find some additionnal bonus too, but I didn' t put all. 2CD were enough... And this "Final Battle" concert take... What a massacre !!! :)

So, after what you just said, I may be a little troubled if I'd like to post ANH.

Edit: I may post one or two cues on rapidshare if it is of any interest for you. I may be interested myself to know whatever you think about the sound.

... According to his profile he will surely allow you, because it's his pleasure to share those, and you will avoid him a big work.

But of course I' m not trying to persuade you ! ;)

About my remasters I'd like to say I prefer my way to modelate the sound (obviously, it is my way...). However I'm still in admiration for his restauration work and his technical knowledge. Not mentionning his knowledge of these scores. So I do threaten to post mines if there's no answer from him in the next ten years ! ;)

... And I'm sure he will allow that too as far as I don' t forget to present those scores as my own edit and remasters.

Hi,

I made my own remaster from the Anthology (and the SE's), but it needs to be a little better. Does someone know on wich tracks from the antho the stereo is flipped on ESB ?

I wish I can hear it by myself but until now I didn' t notice that point.

Nota: If someone has and could upload a rip of the original RSO 2 LP set of the EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (in APE for exemple), I would be delighted !

... And if the link for GM's remaster for it exists anymore, I'd like to give a hear.

Thanks !
