Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)
Time

GM,

I've listened to ESB to find which tracks would have their channel inverted. After the listening of the CD1 I thought only "the magic tree" could have this particularity, though I' m not sure at all. Would you please give me a light on this ?

I didn' t check the CD2 yet for it, though my remastering is now ok... and even more. :) (Yes, I can remaster something without noticing flipped channel ! Strange would you say...).

Hi there. I have a VERY high quality transfer of the double Empire LP in 24-bit 96Khz using a restored Garrard 401 turntable, Rega RB250 arm (modified) and a Goldring 1042 cartridge.

I am just about to make a transfer of the original Star Wars double LP as well, though - regrettably - I do not have the Jedi LP.

If they're of any help to you please let me know.

Cheers!

I'd love to hear (and get !) your transfers !

I don' t want to abuse by making all of you work. Possessed may try to have the files from his own set next week. But perhaps you will avoid him to make this work, though I'd be curious to compare your rips.

Anyway, if you may share your set it would be wonderfull ! :)

Sent !

For everyone who read this toppic, I precise that the goal is to recover the original character and deepness of the sound, what is certainly not reached by the official SE's so poorly remasterised (refer to Goodmusician's comments and explainations for infos). The Anthology, though it is much better quality, fails too.

What I won't make is to put together the RSO recordings with the complete scores.

Hi, I am searching for the good olds STAR WARS and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK 2-LP sets with the idea of making a remastered 2-CD set. RETURN OF THE JEDI would be welcome as well though it is so incomplete that it wouldn’t have the same interest.

Needless to say that a lossless audio set would be awesome. I’ll share my work with anyone interested in if I have the chance to make it ! 😃

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

😃

All the best !

If your's isn't something like 9 GB, its the DVD5/second draft, which only has one or two tiny fixes undone and no bonus features besides text commentary.  It is compressed, but not so much that you would notice.  Don't worry about it, just burn a Data DVD with the files and see what comes out of your DVD player!

Yep, I burned one DVD anyway yesterday and as I said it works fine. I notice the picture to be quite better than the SE, however as my eyes are very sensitive to image definition I thought it could have been a tiny bit better... Just a bit.

I won' t insist and will enjoy the one I found, even if I would have been happy to have the isolated score !

Thanks friends !!! ;)

One more question (sorry but I'm curious):

There's 2 burning options in Nero: To burn in DVD5 (default - 4483Mo) or DVD9 (8152Mo).

Obviously I can only burn in DVD5. Is it a loss of quality to not be able to make it in DVD9 (everybody talks about the DVD9 version wich is the best one... If it has something to do with it)?

;)

EDIT: Ooohhh nooo ! Let me guess... I download the wrong file, isn't it ?

Yep, you're right. I used Nero express and it sucks. But my copy is ok it seems.

I didn't watch the entire movie but checked chapter by chapter that it worked, and it seems it does.

I noticed the equalisation filter in Nero express for sound remastering makes really poor results compared to the ancient version I have on my good old steam computer. ;)

:) I leave you to your ISO - whatever strange stories !

Thanks, but you didn' t understand: I don' t have it in ISO form. All is already built.

However, instead of sleeping I burned the DVD as a Data disc and you know what ??? NERO lied to me ! It dared !... Because it works perfectly and is taken by my player as any DVD !

Thanks again men ! I watched ten minutes and it' s a pity I have to stop it to go to sleep. The colors are amazing, and I could appreciate the sense of details you have that was missing to the original, as to the special editions. Great work ADY ! (And don't be shy, answer to my PM if you'd like ! ). :)

YOU'RE AWESOME ! :)

Now I pray for I have the 5.1 ;)

EDIT: In DVD Data Nero tells these kind of files won' t play like a normal DVD. Does it lie for I pay them the 5.1 pluggin ?!

Well, I' ll try tomorrow. It is too late to play with that now. Thanks again ! :) I'll check the thread tomorrow to see if someone tried to help me further.

DVDs can be DVD-Video or DVD-Audio.  In a DVD-Audio, the VIDEO_TS folder would be empty (though usually those discs contain a DVD-Video portion as well, so players not equipped to read the audio part can still play it).  In a DVD-Video, the AUDIO_TS folder is empty.

In all honesty, for 99% of players, you DON'T need the AUDIO_TS folder.  But, there are a select few DVD players that read the AUDIO_TS folder first, and if it's not there they choke.

There should be an option in Nero to make a DVD-Video somewhere, or Video DVD, or whatever.  Use that, drop the two folders in, and you're set.  Alternatively, you can make a data DVD, drop in the two folders, and you're also set.

Actually what I've done was to drag only the VOB files, wich were the only ones I could select (in create a DVD video) what for my PC worked during 20 mintutes (he fusionned what had to be, notably)

But... Aaaaaarrghhhh !!!!!!!!!! My Nero is a test version and I don't have the licence for the pluggin to decode the sound in 5.1 Dolby... !!!

... Then I haven't burned it now.

So, if I make a data DVD instead, do you think it will run like any DVD on any player (and allow me to have the 5.1 channel with it ?) ... And is there an advantage in one of those way to create the DVD(Sorry for all these questions, and thank you !)

OK, my download is now complete. Everybody talks about an ISO to unpack. What I have are .VOB, .BUP, .IFO all in a 4,7 GB file called VIDEO TS. There's an audio TS wich is empty.

Can somebody tell me how to burn a standart DVD with it ? (I use NERO)

I think you can just copy VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS to a data dvd. your DVD is already built

Thanks very much ! (... I forgot to say "please")

May I ask what is the use of the empty audio file... ?

I think the closest person we have to the main cast / crew who at least has a copy is Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).  There's a picture somewhere in the thread of him receiving a copy.  He should like it, as he's complained for years about Chewie not getting a medal at the end of the movie!

Details in this post:

Very cool. :)

 Yep. I found it.

I was amazed to see how people can change... Mayhew looks so more human than in the trilogy !

Edit: by the way RIPPLIN, I DO love your avatar. It's the best one I ever seen in a forum ! :)

Dears,

I rode that on the begining of a little video from Youtube (A George Lucas interview):

- "Georges Lucas, always wanting to cash in, released Adywan's version with his name on it. However Lucas still prefers his own crappy special edition"

It is the 4th video on this page

Anybody knows what does it mean ? Is it a fake interview ?

I think there are only two solutions:

1° You re-shot all these three movies with a new crew.

2° You forget them forever !

... And believe me the 2nd solution is possible, 'cause I did. (I can' t remember the least detail from the Ep 3, even when I saw a bunch of photo I was seeking for a CD backcover. Only I remember the creepy Emperor who was very interesting)

Thanks for your precious help ! It'll take time to download via Rapidshare but it's ok.

Why doesn' t Adywan mention links for his own work ? Is it a secret ?

It's safer for a fan editor to release it into the wild and say "find it yourself".  That way if Lucasfilm comes knocking they can't say "YOU posted it here and have links for it HERE, HERE, and HERE".  This site also forbids direct links for the same reason.  The link you were given used to be THE place for direct links, but the MPAA came a couple months ago and made them take all the links down.  Scary stuff.

But Revisited is the greatest thing ever.  Be sure to download the DVD-9 (dual layer) for all the bonus feature goodness.  And visit the links in my signature if you want to see every visual change / fix Adywan made to the movie.  He gave me 500 of them, and that doesn't count changes in movement, pacing changes, or audio changes.

I watched the gallery and it looks very promising.

Please, what is the MPAA ?
