I'm wondering about the above still.  Is Luke outside or inside?  The set makes him look like he is walking inside of a hallway when he ought to be in an alley between buildings.

I think it was a fully enclosed interior corridor before the SE. I never liked those "just because we can" "photoshops" to make it look more open anyway.

 Yeeeeaaahhhhh !!!! Errr... Sorry.

... I love to read that, and to me the clostrophobic old cloud city really worked on the ambient... Like a labyrinth ! Also an enclosed city... In the clouds: the kind of contrasting ideas that really works on your mind!

Fortunately I can watch the 1980 version on DVD.

Well i thought you mention the above image..

I checked the movie and the arent white bottom haze effects.. can you show a pic or two?

Well, they don't look the same on the film cells actually. Just make tries from the movie (it'll make a good reason to abuse of some settings :P).

But I'm sure adywan doesn't need to read us to find this out.

Anyway, just for info:

... Are the kind of overexposure marks at the bottom on all the film ?

... I saw the same ones on some ESB film cells scan once a few brightness added. (... And on pictures took on Tchernobyl site. Yeah, because of radioactivity).

I must admit, ABC has got me confused... is this the final restoration, or the 2010 Optimum edition?

Ah, sorry for the confusion. Indeed the Optimum thread as dived into the dephts...

I don't know if it is THE final restoration, but it will be for me. Even if was released a brand new remastered version now, the one I'm achieving here may still be quite a valuable piece to listen for a long time.

Yet, you can take a look at post 2 and compare the remixing slate with the one on your sets (will give you a far idea).

To sum up, almost no cue sounds like the OEv.3 anymore... And remembering you're the only one who has been able to spot (and precisely)  the differences between v2 and v3 in the previous thread, I know you'll enjoy this one very much...

I don' t know about you, your age, your formation or your experience, but just know, and please take my words for sure:

Skills are not enough to open these doors !...

You may be the most talentuous guy in what you do, but as long as you haven't gone a long way (like accepting minor jobs with humility, for exemple), continuing to try expending your relations and cultivate your curiosity, you may be not able to see the light... That's life.

But I don't know you. I just allow myself to speak these words because you look like you need more trust in yourself (first) and your work.

... (even for free).

 Bad idea.

... Very bad idea.

You see in your screenshot above, the video stream is the one selected (the grey highlighting is around the "0xE0 - Video" text). You need to click on the text that says "0x81 - Audio", then demux. After the operation is complete, do the same for the PCM audio stream "0xA0".

You should end up with an IFO file, a stream information TXT file and the two demuxed audio files.

I think I already have tried and had to name the second stream with another name for it doesn't erase the 1st one... But I'll try again.

... sorry about the misinformation.

Please don't apologise. You're great to help me !

And I'm alright...

I don't understand why, maybe Maybe the clip name isn't attractif. This video was posted one year ago, 2 304 view since today. As a fan I did it for fans....

I think you should target wiiiiiiiiider than the only Star Wars fans. I'm not more a Star Wars fan than my neighbour is I think, excepted that I'm all involved in working at giving back the breath to the first scores (at least one), and I'm currently on these forums to let know people about my score restoration project (wich, same thing here, should be advertised wider than a fistfull of fans as everybody I met knowing about this was interested, and every friends having heard a bit of it were stunned).

We're both french, and I'm well placed to know that french love that kind of work you've done, Star Wars related or not.

Your work is professionaly done and should be known by people working in areas such as publicity, productions etc... Who knows.

Don't owe on Youtube to be known: why not make a site ? (Beside I'm thinking the same thing about what I'm doing here).

... For the name I don't know... "Star Wars hidden treasures" ?... That would make me curious about it !

I've listened to them again, and I must say I love it in both renditions but I agree, CD1 version sounds more natural somehow. But I see you're on it ;)

The louder layered version now sounds very good. Just I had to calm down my will to give it the more spacing sound as possible. The version without layer is indeed very natural but has a too front feeling for a cue that is played by a great number of musicians with a bunch of distant instruments. I'll post this latter unused version in he samples and will remain a collector track. :)

...

Sorry about the delay for the samples guys... I'll be late !

Anyway, I think I've read enough from you now, as about your "work".

And...

Note that the title still says "REMASTERED MAX REBO BAND TRACKS AVAILABLE!"

... That almost goes against the forum rules ! lol !

... Not everything needs to be made obvious, no. But this is something that in the script has a dramatic effect, which is not present in the movie...

I disagree...

True that I never understood before what it was really. But the dramatic is justly not spoiled because of that.

If you have an accident, it makes it even more dramatic as long as you still wonder:"What happened? What was that?".

I think I always felt the same here.

They're all looking good!

That's a problem ;)

Of course I'm partial to #2 in this reply.

#2 Looks more like a book cover to me.

McQuarrie art is always welcome (I wonder what that cover looks like with an angled logo).

It would work but with some changes (another cropping of the bg painting notably). Everything can work, so better start from an idea than sketching all that crosses your mind... That's my thought.

Any work on the liner notes yet?

I'm all concentrated on the sound by now. It's on the end and it's somehow the time for Truth !

Ah - now I remember, there's a peculiarity in the way DVD Decrypter dumuxes the streams. You need to select/highlight the audio stream and demux each one individually.

You mean the PCM or the AC3 ?

... Or do you mean the Chapters ?

Or do you mean the VOB files I obtained. (Sorry I told you: 0 knowledge + the langage obstacle)

The first time I tried I only selected the AC3... Well, I'll give it a try.

And I'll stay with DVD Decrypter... I won't rip any more thing in the future and I'm a little annoyed with having ten softwares for something I'd make only once.

is all what I'd liked to avoid... I expected to have directly a AC3 or PCM file...

You should have ended up with an AC3 file or a WAV file. Did you click the "stream processing" tab?

Yes, and I tried both "demux" and "raw". I haven't tried the "direct stream copy". Would that be the mistake ?

You can use something like azid or besweet to decode/split an AC3 file into mono WAV files for each channel.

Yep, I saw besweet looks sweet.
