Something I’m working on with Snooker’s Death Star hologram idea:

In the context of that scene it makes sense that the plans are a contribution to the “rebel” cause.
Perhaps the dialog order should be changed so that we view the hologram right after the plans are mentioned.
But you get the idea 😉

I think having the Death Star here ties-in all the movies very well.

Isn’t this on the movie already ?
You can make it clearer just by moving part of Doku’s exposition at the separatist meeting (when they are all at the table) to the start of the movie.
So you’d have: Assassination attempt » Senate » Doku’s exposition » Palpatine’s Office

100% agree that more focus on the Death Star plans would be great.
I suggest trying to move that forward in the story.
So Obi-wan is looking not only for Fett but also for the plans 😉

Also 100% agree with a more quiet Anakin, it makes Padmé stronger and he more mature.
And yes, no mention of forbidden love, because that’s of no consequence for EP2.

Indeed, and I agree that framing and digital panning will improve some shots.
But for lighting, the main problem is the BlueRay grading (the 4K scans don’t look that bad).

It needs a laugh track and more structure. Each episode should have a theme, it looks a bit too random like this.
But it’s interesting and well dubbed 😃

Only removing him fighting. You need the Jedi Council to tell the PT’s story.

I have no problem with the dark themes and different direction.
That’s why I suggest not showing the saber toss (it’s not important) and instead go with Luke crying for Han.

The problem is not deviation from expectations, is bad execution.

Your work is good but you need to move further away from the original. Otherwise you repeat the same mistakes.
The movie is badly edited AND has a lot of bad ideas.
Still it’s quite decent if you can see beyond that.

Drop the sabre toss and use deleted scenes + TJA footage.
Link the movies and get right into Luke and Rey.

It’s not perfect, but somehow even the milk scene (with a small edit) falls into place.
I’ve added some stock footage to create establishing shots.

Just a suggestion, but don’t be afraid to move away from the original stuff.
And please, use the alternate Finn introduction (no water ball) 😃

The elevator stuff can be used to keep the tension. You just need to be smart in cutting it.

There are a few problems with this, but as I mentioned before, it’s ok for my personal use.

You should start by this. Inserting something new into a film is not easy, usually it stands out horribly.

There are some VERY good visuals on Star Wars Battlefront II.
Would be hard to make them match the 1980’s effects but the detail is worth it. And very faithful to the original material I think.

A simple recreation of the movie sequences with game’s engine would be interesting.

I think the Codebreaker works and you need him for the plan to fail.
And it works better by cutting all the Cantobight sequence.
Just make him appear on the ship with Finn and Rose,the dialog with Poe provides good explanation about that.
The deleted scenes on the Supremacy are interesting for those characters.

Great editing, but it’s too fast, specially if you’ve never seen the movie before.
Doesn’t work as an introduction to a completely new universe.

You should keep a short part of the original Jedi introduction. It introduces the characters well.
Remove the droid fight and make them hide in the landing craft immediately after having tea.

Sure!
But for the sake of discussion, on radical edits it’s better to have your characters near each other.
That way, you are free to have them appear with no need for extra explanation or FX sequences. So you can move scenes around easier.

Yep… YouTube’s content matching algorithm works very well.
Since this was a different edit than the movie, they must be using face recognition. Interesting…

Small universe fixes the problem with Starkiller base firing being visible from other planets (they must be close).
Also addresses how those X-Wings can travel between planets (without major food & water storage).

Just like the PT went to the OT’s planets, I’d like to see that on the Sequel Trilogy.

About Yoda’s fight, I’d cut it. He fights in Ep2, that’s enough.

On ROTJ the childish stuff hides Luke’s darker motives and tactics.

If you really look closely, from an adult POV, you notice that he uses the force to manipulate the Ewoks.
When 3CPO is telling the story, that’s Luke mind controlling, both 3CPO and the Ewoks.
Immediately after, they are accepted into the tribe, with the Ewoks sacrificing themselves in the battle.
So yes, Luke is not a nice guy in Jedi 😉

On TLJ the dumb childish stuff highlights Luke’s darker side.
So it’s in your face, but it was there before.

TLJ’s problem is not Luke, is the poor B story that makes little sense and is not integrated with the main one.
If you remove the silly stuff from both movies, Luke is consistent.

I have a Youtube channel with restored NASA documentaries and footage and I can tell you that the content matching algorithms work. Even with 50 year old music or images, you get copyright claims.
The process is automated, so the Mouse knows about it and can block any videos by pressing a button.
They know about everything, since they have people googling for their property 24/7.

I’m sure they will act once it’s released ( give him rope to hang himself) 😉

Sure, eventually this would be done using 4K83. That one has image stabilization, essential for matting stuff.

So… is there any effort in preserving old video game cutscenes and / or Full Motion Video?
These titles used old compression codecs that are harder and harder to decode on modern devices.

Is there any interest in converting them to modern standards?
How about some processing like block removal and upscaling ?

Any advice on how to proceed ?
