it's not as bad as TPM or AOTC

I totally agree. I like it better than Return of the Jedi. Thus, making it my 3rd favorite SW movie.

Personally, I can't watch the official DVD's. Here are some comparisons of LaserDisc to DVD. Notice how low the black level is on the DVD. The detail is there, but it gets lost.

The colour is also too saturated and the hue/tint is wrong. I prefer the Laserdiscs for these reasons.

Movies, like any other form of art, should not be "judged". The problem is that they aren't looked at as a form of art. Hell, most movies aren't anymore, but just studio money grabs. But there are still a few true artists out there. I think Lucas considers himself an artist, but uses a different medium.

It's all pollitical. Some of the best movies out there are the independent ones nobody knows of. I also agree that Sith doesn't deserve any nominations. I liked it, but other than technical noms., it won't get any. Same with the Oscars. I don't really believe in award shows anyway.

I thought Johnny Depp was great as Willy Wonka.

if you watch the official ESB DVD, (widescreen only) when the Wampa's arm hits the Tauntaun, watch to the very left. You can see the "stick" arm. I have a screen cap, but don't know how to upload pics.

How in God's name can you have sit through it that many times?!?

I have seen it 2 and a half times. Once when it originally aired in '78. Then once more on DVD a couple of years ago. I tried again a while back, couldn't make it.

I think you are looking too far into it . All Lucas wants to do is tie the 2 trilogies together so the younger generations will "accept" it as one story. He continues to believe that he can erase the past.

I have see Hayden in other movies and he was pretty good. Don't you think it's part of a director's job to realise an actor is not doing a good job and do something about it?
