Missing 26 GOUT frames from the start of the reel (these things happen)
and none after that!

But did you spot the 26 frames I replaced using the LPP? If you look at the lightsaber duel, there are several frames that were missing from the Tech and I replaced using the LPP. At full speed it’s hard to spot unless you are looking for it, but if you slow it down, you’ll see it gets much grainier.

127,872-878
127,925-932
128,515-518
128,535-56x
That’s more than 26

But I didn’t trust my eyes, since they can deceive me.
I peeked at the GOUT-sync script I’d written for mverta’s 1fps Color_Ref_R5_web.mov
which is missing 33

Edit: But I will add one more teaser, just for the OT crowd.

This video was produced using this technique (plus a little post processing to clean it up a little more), and it only took about a week… It has not been color corrected.

The Phantom Menace - Original Theatrical Cut: (Pan & Scan) VHS Preservation (Released)
Time

For your consideration I offer another Avisynth script
which takes the Austrian ORF DVB broadcast and the TPM VCD (both from 'spleen)
and aligns both of them with the previous “unified theory” script, above.

Sample is there
Script is there

Comments at the bottom of the script give
reel changes, LD side changes, and now include the VCD disc change.
As always, the first frame of the last shot
and last frame of the first shot are included in the comments.

Believed by some to contain all the frames, this cut of TPM
should in theory match the cinema DTS discs without any audio edits.
Of course some editing will be required to join the reels together,
but no intra-reel edits

NTSC GOUT-sync: SW-v2.5 contains an extra frame at the end of reel, which is missing from NTSC GOUT.
After deleting it, then 144053 will be the first frame of the next reel.

Please, use time, instead of frame number - much easier to find.

Seriously?
You need a tool like that in your kit
Jump to frame
like a starship mechanic needs a hydro-spanner

NTSC GOUT-sync: STAR WARS title card should appear in frame 00688, if we call the first frame 00000.
ESB-v2.0 has extra frame near the start, which meant card appeared one frame later than it should.
Previous discussion began there, and ending on the next page.

PAL/NTSC sync issue: contains 2 extra frames not in NTSC GOUT

Those two ‘PAL-only’ frames have already been trimmed in ESB-v2.0.
Do the same thing for v2.5, so that 150204 will be the first frame of the next reel

ESB is 8.06 GiB
ANH is 8.13 GiB

Is DVD+R DL the disc format these versions were intended for?
Are the file sizes I’m recording correct? Or did I download bad copies?

Harmy’s file “AVCHD v2.5.iso” was 8,484,552,704 bytes.
ESB_DESPECIALIZED_v2.0_AVCHD.iso: 8,429,502,464 bytes
.
Yours might or might not be bad.
Or they might have additional audio tracks muxed in from the larger .mkv releases

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1

No, it’s not back in sync by the end of the next shot.
It remains out-of-sync throughout those sequence:
23045-25407
25408-28651
141781-143417
The last two being worse offenders, with picture lagging behind the sound,
since light is supposed to travel faster than sound (even in far-away galaxy?
)
WTF is “good enough”? A slippery slope, no doubt.
Only half-joking when I say I hope fame hasn’t got to your head.
Your attention to detail has served you well

Got GOUT-sync?
We don’t want <(team member formerly known as negative1)> to think
that I’m picking on him exclusively, so…

Workprint frames 141780 & 781 are the same frame repeated (GOUT 141780).

GOUT 143417 is missing from the workprint, last frame of the shot.

From GOUT shot 22860-23044, the workprint is missing one frame.
Probably the last frame of that shot is the one missing.

Compared to GOUT shot 25408-743, the workprint has two additional frames
at the beginning of the shot.

From GOUT shot 28230-651, the workprint is missing one frame.
Probably the last frame of that shot is the one missing.

Sorry, it’s what I do.
Anyway counting frames of RotJ is far more fun than watching it!

Please note I didn’t check every single shot, and won’t do.
Only checked reel change, LD sides, and wherever pulldown cadence changed,
since those points were annotated in IVTC scripts I’ve previously shared.

I admire your efforts to keep it GOUT-sync’ed
because interchangeable parts are NOT over-rated.
