Batman Begins
Time
I remember recently reading in EW that there was a idea for a Superman vs Batman movie. Both franchises had major troubles (especially Supes) in getting their films off the ground. They thought by having a movie together it was jump start both franchises into more sequals for both hero's. I believe the plot would be something like this: Superman and Batman meet, Superman is setup and Batman accusses Superman of doing something (not sure what). They do fight for a bit before joining forces and defeating the evil that setup Superman. There is talk of doing a Superman/Batman movie after 3 or 4 sequels, but that's just a rumor as of now.

I thought Batman Begins was a great movie. I really liked how they went into Bruce's character and how he ended up becoming Batman. It was dark like how Batman should be where the previous movies didn't quite acheive. I think Katie Holmes did a good job as her character. She did look younger then Bale, though she looks really young for her age (though was 5 years younger then he is). I won't go too much into it else, since you guys mostly covered it already. I think it ranks right up there with Superman I, and Spidey II in terms of superhero films.

And ADigitalMan, don't worry about Superman Returns. Brian Singer proved what he can do with the X-Men movies and thought he was right about picking an an unknown in Routh. He looks just like Clark Kent and pretty good as Superman IMO. Kate Bossworth is a talented actress and Singer said had great chemestry with Routh. I trust he knows what he's doing. Also, have you checked out the blogs on BlueTights.net? Really cool if you haven't watched em already.

That's where copying the discs come in. I'd never hand out my sets, just burn a couple of the 1st 2 discs then the person can rent/buy the series if they like it. I'm not really friends with anybody on these boards but if you are and GlopOfGrease & MeBeJedi is I highly recommend on "sharing" the set if you have the means to. I'm sure lots of people on these boards would really dig the show, but have never gotten the chance to watch it.

On and btw, the show is going to reair (or really air for the 1st time as how it was meant to) on the Sci Fi network Friday, July 22 at 7PM leading up to their Friday night lineup. So you can tell people to start watching them w/o having to lend them your discs. I can't wait for Battle Star Gallactica to start up again, that's the best Sci Fi show in years and one of my favorite shows.

Which of the 6 films is your favorite?
Time
I acknowledge Empire is the best film, but have a different opinion on what's my favorite. Growing up Jedi (I was 6 at the time so I liked the ewoks) was my favorite and now I'm more particial to ANH. Empire ranks 2nd then followed closely w/ Jedi tied w/ Sith. Then Clones (best movie experience of my life attending the midnight showing however) and last Meanace.

@ GlopOfGrease: From what I understand the Alien script he wrote was really good, but whoever made the movie tore it to shreads. I agree, I love pretty much everything he's done. Was a huge Buffy fan, not much of an Angel fan (mostly watched just the 5th season) and I really loved Firefly. The only thing I'm not too fond of is the 1st Buffy movie, that was pretty bad. I can't wait to see what he does with Wonder Woman though.

@ MeBeJedi & Shimraa: Very cool to see you guys are fans as well. Since it appears there aren't too many fans on these boards I was thinking of "sharing" the DVDs to convert more fans. I'm sure a lot of people on these boards would dig the show, what do you guys think?

I heard the director's cut was better, but I wasn't that fond of the original version. I also thought his acting was pretty bad in it and the kids was much better.

What can I say. I just don't like him. All he plays are jackasses (or variations of jackasses) and gets by on his looks. At least on That 70s Show they make fun of it.

Earliest TV or Movie Memories
Time
Fun topic, you guys should get a kick out of mine. My 1st memory of a movie was seeing Empire when I was 3 years old (my dad took me). I really don't think I understood it too much, but I fell in love with it. Anyway, we went downtown to the theater where the movie was being shown and the movie theater has about 300 lightbulbs in the front enterence (there's only 2 theaters so it's a small theater). I remember thinking cause of the lightbulbs that Star Wars must have owned that movie theater cause they had the lightbulbs that reminded me of Star Wars. The 2nd movie I remember seeing was the ep IV when they were showing it on Penn State's campus at the university. The next year my parents took me to see "Muppets Take Manhatten" at the Star Wars theater and thinking "oh Star Wars must be renting out the theater to this movie". I just think that's sorta funny that I thought Star Wars owned that movie theater cause of the lightbulbs and thinking that at the age of 3.

Great work guys, it definitely looks a lot sharper (just the beam alone is a huge improvement). I really liked seeing the 3 screenshots of TR47, X0's & the official DVD side by side (on the last couple pages). Is it possible for you guys to do that on your site? That'd be the ulimate comparison and I'd love to see. Also, are these screenshots compressed or uncompressed?

But as Laserman and zion said, there are many possible "dream" projects, so beyond a straight transfer, it's difficult to say what would really come next, or how long it would take.

How does the uncompressed quality compare to DVD quality (any DVDs, I'm not referrring to just Star Wars)?

Didn't Walmart back track and say as long as there is demand they'd still sell VHS (I'm thinking cause of some out-rage)? I don't see what the big deal about VHS is though, DVD players can be had for $25 and movies cost $10+ (average being $20). Cost certainly aint an issue and you can get converters to hook up the dvd player if your TV doesn't have the right inputs. But I just say buy a new TV at that point.

Reading the inteview I think it was published the 1st week after the OT DVD was released so it's been a while since it's come out. Nothing really new or ground breaking since then. And he seems to be saying it half assed and I somehow don't believe him. Bring on the X0 set baby! * j/k *

I'm not sure if this was answered before or not, but is this single or duel layered?

Please don't feel slighted but this though - I just have to stop at some point before I use up all the padded envelopes and run up too big a bill for postage! There should be enough copies now to start the avalanche.

And please remember, if I haven't replied to a PM it's not because I'm deliberately ignoring you, but because I'm always going over my 25 PM limit. But I appreciate your interest!

I can also imagine shipping it from the oversea's to the U.S. is somewhat expensive also. Thanks for the hard work, I hope to get a copy once it becomes more available here in the U.S. I'm really looking forward to getting it and anyone who can help me out in getting a copy I'd appreciate it. Please PM me or email me at my s/n @ gmail.com. I'm really looking forward to watching this as well as the Classic Edition. Thanks.

Now if someone would do these to Empire and Jedi, I think we'd all be pretty happy wouldn't we?

The 3 disc PAL SVCD with the Russian opening crawl that is floating around is much better quality than any 700x2 XviD. Also, what is up with 640x288? 640x272 is correct for a 2.35:1 movie. It is good that it has AC3 audio though which usually means it was left untouched from the DVD (the 192 kbs stereo stream in this case). The same can't be said for the SVCD's of course.

I'm wondering this as well. What gives with the 640x288 resolution? I'm also wondering (please keep in mind I'm a newbie at all this but have ripped and burned movies using DVD Shrink and Decrypter) why release it in Xvid? Don't you normally burn DVDs in VOB format?
