Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)

My Force Beam (eighth birthday present from Gamley's) was 'red' but looked orange enough to convince a terrified girl at my birthday party that it was a bar from an electric fire I was whirling around, the added fact that I was dressed up in my Dracula costume probably didn't help sooth her nerves.

My uncle's girlfriend sat on it, bent it and made the end pop off which is possibly a factor in my preference for members of the same gender.

Oof...  Yeah, I probably would have sworn off women in that case too.

Mind=blown.

To bits.

Woah, that's nuts.  Is there a projected release on this at all?

For the software?  I have no idea.

I think you know, but that's just a stock Kinect and a PC with some homegrown software.

Interesting prequel critique

The third could have been good without overacting by the Emperor, make the duel less ridiculous on mustafar and make the turn to the darkside make sense.

Also if you did not have a sense of them ticking things off on a list to connect it to the original trilogy as if paint by numbers, they could have still linked them in an interesting way by being more subtle.  The only thing i think was done well was when the helmet comes down on Anakin and He is Masked as Vader.  And the sunset on tatooine.  The Frankenstein scene was horrible, we did not have to see Yoda land on dagobah it could have been implied.

 Well put.

In Defense of Death Star II

But one thing is clear:  It's either a typo, or someone decided that DSII was RIDICULOUSLY bigger than DSI. (if you believe the "official" numbers, that is)

The Star Wars Chronicles say that the DSI was 120 km, the DSII 160 km in diameter.

That's more believable than this figure:

Wookieepedia:

The first Death Star was 160 kilometers in diameter, while the second Death Star was 900 kilometers in diameter

The Hobbit movie: Dwarves

In real life it's dwarfs and elfs but in Tolkien's it's dwarves and elves.

You're right.  I can't remember the source for this, but Tolkien basicially threw down with "'Dwarfs' looks dope.  I'm a gonna spell it 'dwarves'" once-upon-a-time.

This was before looking dope was actually still bad and before it was good.

It was also before bad was good and bad was just bad.

What are you reading?
Time

The Mrs. and I just finished Mocking Jay, the third Hunger Games book.  It tooks us most of a year to get through the first half- then we read the last half in a weekend.  I had heard that the book was a real let down after the first two, but I was determined to enjoy it.  Well... the first half is hard to enjoy.  It really picks up in the second half, right up until the rather disappointing ending.

Batman Forever ... has the song Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me by U2 on the soundtrack and I really like that song. And that's one more thing than I like about any of the other Batmans.

That song is one of the best things they have ever done imo.

I had to work on a tool at work known as the "DistMe" tool, which distributes stuff.  After I worked on it, it's official title became the "Dist Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me Tool".

Thought you'd like to know

Probably either.  Arkham Asylum is probably the closest you'll get to a thing that sort of looks like a movie and feels like the Animated Series.

Does the 360's game of the year edition have the levels where you play as the Joker, or is that still PS3 exclusive? Maybe I should get it for the PS3 just so I have something to play on it.

No, the GotY has some extra challenge levels (that I didn't really play) and the Joker remained a PS3 exclusive.  I would have liked to have played the Joker bit, but I understand it's maybe 30 minutes or so.

We just watched The Tourist last night.  There's a lot of this movie that doesn't work if you think about it... but it builds so much goodwill that it's hard to hold it against it.

Lots of familiar faces playing some small parts.  Depp and Jolie have good chemistry and do a good job.

Fun movie, but nothing to take home to moth3r.

2/4's balls.

Will TV's mom find out 3PX is being unfaithful? Tune in next time,

AS THE DEATH STAR TURNS.

I haven't been unfaithful to her yet! Well, I have... I mean... my future self who traveled back in time and father you has, but I, present me, hasn't.

Oh man! This is exciting! I think Ziggy is proof I eventually get this confounded contraption I've been working on to work.

But not the confounded contraceptive.  :(
