Yeah, this is so true. I'm not gonna tell them what to do with their money, but there no rush... I'm sure the fan edit community will forgive you guys if you wait a week and pick up the blu rays used =P

Thanks man. Some of these other guys don't seem to get it. This is not 2004 or 2006. George has escalated the conflict and we must reply in kind or else appear weak to the Russians!

Thanks :)  See, we can all get along.

Love people individually, hate them collectively. It is a recipe for a happy life.

Especially if they're of another race.

Wait, wut?

Hate all races equally. Even your own. Especially your own. Once people get together and form a "group identity" it is all over.

Radical individualism is the way to go. Not my idea. That is the message I get from the words of Jesus.

How can I hate people of my own race but not still be identifying people by race?

You just hate everybody. Then if you meet them - and they are okay - you can like them. Jeez, how hard is this to grasp xhoni?!

Hey, I'm trying!  You just threw me off with that "especially of your own race, bit".

Hmmm.... I'm sitting here trying to hate everyone equally... and it's just not working that well...  Are you sure you got this idea from Jesus?

2. I'm an agist.

#2 I'm a bit baffled on.  And this from someone who fully supports your decision to try and raise your kids in a PT-free environment.

I typed up a few things on what your motivation might be, but decided to instead just let you explain (should you feel like it).

I'll hang up and listen to your answer.

Yeah, I'm really not trying to dig on Ziggy here.  So I think I'll just leave what I said as enough said.  I really am just trying to enjoy OT.com.

You know what?  I'm sorry I brought up number 2.  #1 would really have been sufficient on its own and was the real reason I put several people on ignore.

I'd be happy to edit it out, as long as those who quoted me did likewise.

Piracy never can be, but Willful Copyright Infringement certainly can.

So you're saying I can find copies of the deleted scenes and other special features at http://www.thewillfulcopyrightinfringementbay.com?

It's only a derailment if you want it to be.

If you ignore the the GIFs and keep talking about Bee keeping, humane alternatives to insect extermination etc some people possibly will respond, others may respond to the GIFs.

We have this sort of thing happen outside the Off Topic board were you get a few humour based posts and people have a giggle then the pick up the subject again.

It hardly ever becomes a terminal issue unless the subject has truly run it's course or another thread covers the same ground with greater efficiency.

Yup, that's just the nature of the BEEst.  If I'm interested in the thread, I ignore the stinging humor and tune my antennae to the on-topic posts.  I'm sorry if the gifs may give you the hives, but that really isn't any of my beeswax.

Ouch.

Though I think you missed out on a To Bee or Not Too Bee joke there somewhere.

So what about it, Xhonzi?  I'm calling you out.  Why are you ignoring Nicola Tesla?

Yeah, why you gotta play a brotha like that? Don't make me come over there.

Oh man, sorry.  Didn't realize this had become a thing.  I wasn't trying to make it a thing, so I didn't bring it up.  Probably best to explain it now to keep it from being a big deal.

It comes down to two things.

1. Obnoxious picture in signature.  (same as Angel)

2. Call me an agist, but I can't stand a kid a few years older than my son cursing like a sailor.  I'm also not terribly interested in reading his comments on movies I would be horrified to find my own son watching at that age.

Sorry- not trying to be a jerk about it.  Just trying to enjoy my ot.com.  I wasn't trying to make a statement to Mr. Stardust.

2 things.

1.

I showed my wife the Nooooo scene last night, but since she's not Mrs. 005 or even Gaffer Tape, I thought I might have to prime her by showing her the same scene out of the original.  She watched it somewhat impatiently, wondering why were watching it- looking for changes that she didn't see.  Then I played her the Noooo! and she couldn't identify which was the original.  Then I played her the end of RotS and she thought it was ridiculous that they used the same Nooooooooo!

But that's not really my problem.  While watching the original, I could not stop thinking about the Nooooooo!  It's there, even when it isn't.  CURSE YOU LUCAS!

I've read "A Study In Scarlett" many years ago.   While I don't remember too many details of it,  I don't remember reading it and going "whoa! this is really offensive stuff to Mormons!".   But for all I know it is offensive to Mormons.   I would be against censoring it, but taking it off a 6th grade reading list?  ok I guess.   Still I would recommend just accepting it as a book of its time.    It was written in 1887, things were acceptable back then that aren't today, for good reason.   If you do want to be a Sherlock Holmes fan, I would recommend reading it.   The book tells the story of how Watson met Holmes and how they rented the rooms at 221 B. Baker Street, and it tells of their first adventure together.

I've read the book as well.  Several times and somewhat recently.  I don't think modern Mormons have too much to worry about, but maybe that's just me.  Also, typically Mormons are so thrilled to hear/see their own name, the actual context of its use doesn't matter so much.  But again, maybe that's just my interpretation.  There are reports (?) that Sir Doyle (sort-of) apologized in the end, so there's that too.

Also- a bit that Wikipedia reports- the book was removed from the 6th grade reading list... to the 10th grade reading list.  It's also still available at the library.

My high school English teacher had her classes read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, and after a few weeks, a few of the other teachers and parents complained about a rape scene in the book.  So, knee-jerk as usual, the school made her stop teaching it and banned it from the district, even though her students (who usually loathed reading anything) loved it!

But my teacher was awesome - she didn't give up.  She fought the censorship, and after going a long way, the State of Ohio came in and told the school they weren't allowed to tell her she couldn't teach it anymore, and that if anyone had any objections they would have to find another teacher.  She won an Intellectual Freedom Award for it in 2006.

Badass.

The Kite Runner is a great book too, by the way.

Hmm... go personal freedom?  For a public servant?

It's not censorship if customers (the students and parents) request their employees (the teachers) to not require the reading of material they find offensive.  That's just business as usual.  But it doesn't surprise me the government would come in and tell the parents they have no rights in the schools.  That too, unfortunately, is business as usual.

Now, if they said that no students could read the book, or said that no one could discuss the book in class... that would be different and something much closer to censorship.

That and the political doublestandards- if it was anti liberal values in any sense, this would have gone down 100% differently.

What do you LIKE about the EU?

Hmm... maybe I'll have to give it another go.  I was a little underwhelmed by KotOR but still decided to give KotOR2 a shot.  I was even more underwhelmed, so I gave up about 2-3 hours in.

Admittedly the game's combat system isn't great, but the themes that are explored in the game and the dialogue make up for it. IMHO of course. It does take quite a while to take off - maybe 10 hours or so.

Remember Xhonzi, I am endorsing this in my capacity as a stalwart prequel-hater and OOT lover!

Yes!  I will keep this in mind!

EDIT: get the version for computer and then download the restoration mod that inserts relevant cut content.

I'll have to consider this as well.  I bought (and still have) the Xbox(1) version.

I think that perhaps the best EU product is the video game KOTOR 2 ( despite the final 10% of the game being a rushed, unfinished mess). It has probably the best writing you will find in any Star Wars product, including the original films.

This gets my vote. Strong and simple.

I would love to have a white version (maybe 5 inches across) that I could apply to my rear car window. I'm talking about the kind where the letters are basically each independent stickers. I'd pay $15 for that.

Generally for scrapbooking, my wife has a Cricut cutting machine (like a mini CNC or a plotter, but with KNIVES!) and we have some PC software called Sure-Cuts-A-Lot with which we can cut any SVG we can get our hands on.  You can get sticky vinyl at most craft stores.  I'm not volunteering to cut these stickers, window decals for the whole forum- just saying you may already know someone who can cut these for you.

I don't like Indy 4, Would I like the 2 Disc BD?
Time

RedFive said:

It's only $4, just keep it in your collection.  How much could you make off it anyway?  The movie isn't that bad!

Well, I'll never watch the movie again...  Maybe it's isn't "that" bad, but it's not any good either.

So I wouldn't keep it for the movie.  But I thought there might be $4 worth of entertainment in the features... especially any of them that are sort of "tributes" to the trilogy.

Looks like I could sell it on half.com for ~$9.  Not that I set out to make $5, but I could recoup my spending price and not come out any worse for the wear.

For those who didn't know, BBV has a buy 5 for $20 sale on their previously viewed BDs and DVDs.  I had to pick a 5th BD to get the 4 that I wanted.  It ended up being this one.

And yes, I feel dirty and shamed and if any of you had to put me on IGNORE! for this, I would understand.
