Warcraft all the time, all the time Warcraft.

The Mrs and I are riding this triple experience as high as it will take us (level 80). I'm not sure what happens after that point, but we have friends who will help us out. We started a guild the other day with one of the guys from the FilmRot podcast. Should be interesting.

FilmRiot or FilmRot?  If it's the former, I LOVE that podcast!

If not, then screw 'em.

Harry Potter and Romancing the Philosopher's Stone

(or Harry Potter and Romancing the Sorceror's Stone for the US ;)

Because no one in the US knew what a philosopher's stone was but we all knew what a sorcerer's stone.  *eyeroll*

I think it had more to do with that, if you aren't familiar with the Philosopher's Stone from mythology, the word "philosopher" in a children's adventure film book title might have been off putting to American children but not international (esp British) children.

Fixed?

Maybe if this was the BOOK Before and After thread, Mr. Smarty-pants.

*shame*

But the movie titles just followed the book titles...

Look, bkev.  I know you're well respected and all... but you're just not paying attention.

Bingo- I can excuse you being so sloppy with your 'bkev' sock account, but please stop posting the same titles with your 'xhonzi' sock account and your main account.

Sincerely,

Your xhonzi sock account

I can't believe they put the "First Catch of the Day" guy on there. He had no discernible character traits.
I think that's the joke.
Would you believe that by the time I got down there, I had stopped reading the descriptions and missed the only funny one?

*sad robot gif*

Wait, there was a funny one?

Seriously, I don't Frink think should be banned for that post... but maybe a 2 week probation?

AVATAR and 3D in general....

I am so happy to hear so many of you will be buying 3D TVs. That will hopefully drive the price of non-3D TVs down to a level I am willing to pay for it!

Could be.  There's about $5 worth of cost to a TV manufacturer to support 3D.  What I think we'll see is that 3D TV prices drop to where 2D prices are and then they'll stop making 2D only TVs.  If you buy a new TV, it will support 3D, and you can just ignore the feature if you 'd like.

Just like how they don't sell B&W TVs anywhere or tube TVs.  Newer TVs didn't make those older TVs cheap (at least, not for very long) they just made them non-existant.

But I can make you a very attractive deal on an 8 year old projector.  It was only 20,000 yen when I bought it then.

The Art of the Prequels

I have to agree to some level with the general sentiment here.  I have the "Creating the Worlds of Star Wars" book, which is super wide and has 365 "spreads" and I turn every so often like a page-a-day calendar you turn very sporadically.  It's in 7 sections, one for each movie and a section for all three 1997 SEs.  I really, really, really enjoyed turning pages the first half of the book.  Even the SE stuff was interesting to see and read about.  I considered not continuuing once I got to the PT, but from a technical standpoint, it's still very interesting to see how it was all done.

I don't like the movies, but the behinds the scenes stuff is still incredible.

I propose that another component of the thread should be trying to pitch your now-combined films:

The Day After Tomorrow Never Dies
James Bond faces the one enemy he can't defeat: MOTHER NATURE!

and so on.

I agree.  I would really like to see a poster for 13 going on 30 Days of Night.  :)

And I can see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time very clearly in my mind's eye.
