Return of the Jedi's value, in my opinion, comes from the subtexts of the film and then the action content.
RotS tries to have a lot more going on on the surface. But that all fails for me and there are no good action scenes. They try hard, but they just don't work. The opening scene could have been old school good... but it dissolved into "Oh no! Buzz droids!"

Produced or executive produced? I think everything that came through Amblin or comes through Dreamworks gets Speilberg an "Executive Producer" credit, even if he has nothing to do with it.

I went to one of Lucas's websites and the Common Gateway Interface code (CGI hereafter) was very well implemented. I was able to search and sort and never did the code residing in cgibin give me any trouble.
I have yet to come across a Spielberg website containing any code inside of a cgibin subdirectory.

I used to watch it in clumps too. We started watching after season 2, so we watched the first two on DVD. After that, we'd let several buffer on the DVR and watch 2-3 episode marathons. But then we started this group at work, and I have to agree with 005's assessment: discussing it is way more fun than watching it, so you're missing out on too much if you don't watch it in realtime.

Regarding the differences between the 815 flight in Lost2004 and Alt2004. It would be my guess that the differences surrounding Locke's knives and Christian's casket etc are part of fate manipulating events to get them back to the island one way or another.

Tales of the Jedi had a good overall storyline but the execution wasn't that good. Rogue Squadron is crap. Bland as hell. Legacy is good but not very Star Wars. Dark Times has some good and some bad. Knights of the Old Republic is good. I don't see what's so bad about any of its sidekick characters. Rebellion/Empire is kind of bland and can have a revisionist take on the OT period.
