It's a pity. Despite frequent disgreements, I enjoyed his contrary nature.

We often disagreed, but I did find his posts interesting.  Though I found, sometimes, his comments to so derail the intended point of the thread that it never returned.  Perhaps that is hypocritical of me to say so, but I've been trying to be better.

Does Luke arrive later that same day?  I got the impression that the droids had been there for a couple days longer than Chewie & Leia who might have been there for a day or two as well.

On the one hand you say: How hard is it to screw up the Prequels?  And yet George Lucas, the originator of Star Wars, managed to do just that!

And then you try to do what he should have done, and you find yourself tempted to or actually making the same mistakes he made.  It gives you a little more sympathy for how rotten the final product is and how it got that way.  I can't say that it makes me like them more, but I appreciate the challenge of doing it more.

I wouldn't want to put the time and attention into a Prequel timing game, so I leave that to you, Boost, if you'd like.  But I'd like to see a comparison Prequel Trilogy chart to see if it "charts" like the OT.  My sense is that it would not.  I would like to see (and may even whip up) charts like this for other movie series... Indiana Jones, James Bond, etc...

Perhaps my biggest 'sad' is that while there seems to be a strong consensus on what the prequels "shouldn't" be... there's nowhere near a consensus on what they should have been.  I think this site actually contains 90% of the people on the face of the planet Earth that like Star Wars the way I like Star Wars... and yet we can't see eye to eye on what we would have liked from the PT.

I too have strong desires to see a "proper" reboot of the trilogy.  I too have thought that "making movies costs lots of money" and "writing novels is free" so I have considered going that route, despite the fact my longest short story is not 10 pages.

My hope is that while we can't agree in concept form- that once a quality story were presented in full, that we would gather around it and say, "Yes, this is how it should be."  Or, at least, "Yes, this works and is not the failure that the PT was."  But I'm afraid it would still be, "Eh... it's pretty good I guess... but still not what I was expecting or hoping it would be."  And, of course, "That sucked.  It was worse than the PT."

I've asked Moth3r if we can open a new forum dedicated to just Prequel Rewrites.  It's possible there's only a few of us here that would care to post in it... but I think the action gets lost in the other forums/threads.  I think it would do better in its own forum.

I saw that one and didn't think it was very representative of the movie run time.  Also, it's wrong in regards to R2's whereabouts when Luke sees Yoda prior to his death.

Other than that, it's a spiffy image.

Is there a consolidated list somewheres?  I am wondering if my "R2 D2 is on the stretcher, he's off the strecher, and now he's back on!" bit from the "Ewok/3PO is a god scene" ever got picked up.

Very interesting.  I don't think I've heard that angle before.  It would certainly help the story a great deal to think he's not hiding in plain sight like that- regardless of whether Vader is his dad or not.

none, I think this is the best you've done.  Yes, the action scenes are still plagueing you... as they plague me... but an improvement none-the-less!

So, I'm starting to grade these and I realize that we all fell for a trick I accidentally put into this quiz:  I skipped the whole "Darth Vader Arrives on DSII" scene that the movie actually starts with.  So, the first scene on the list is "Luke's Message to Jabba" which starts at 0:09:00.  Making all of our early times at least a few minutes too early.
