They're actually a bit faded, but more towards the purple end of the spectrum. It was a problem with a lot of Fuji prints from the '80s. It's also got a pretty bad case of "Fuji Rot," black dots that come and go all over the frame. Fortunately, "pretty bad" only means like 1/100,000 frames has one tiny black mark... :)

Ditto about having a print with the original titles on them. Otherwise, just guessing is not good "preservationist" mindset... :)

As far as the title cards, I don't know. They look like they're from the VHS, DVD, and BD releases respectively. In that case, they're almost guaranteed to be inaccurate. I agree with Tservo - pretty much we need scans of original prints to even get in the "close" category. Even if that meant we were just color correcting to match, that would still be better than the messed up colors/DNR/other problems of the Disney versions.

I don't remember. I do remember looking them up on IMDB, but I don't remember what the numbers were when I got all through. There were a lot - I do remember that...

As far as Pinocchio, I have no idea. I suppose I could check, although knowing that it's a fairly late release (from '84 or '85 on Mylar) I'm guessing that if there was a rerelease version that's what I've got...

What do you think ?

Lol - I think I own that! I've got a handful of Tech Jiminy Cricket shorts. Cute programs - just long enough to be educational but short enough to keep the kids' attention. :)

I'be done some frame captures of my print. I believe they are posted over at AMPS. If you are not over there, you don't know what you are missing!

TBH, I'm not that confident of RAH's ability to pick the correct colors. In the first place, I don't think he would approve of what we are doing. He has a very anti-preservation mind if the studios aren't behind it. Secondly, he has made some very, very inappropriate color choices when grading his restorations. Finally, even if he is willing and able to pick the correct colors, it would be very hard for him to do it. He would have to sit down with the two prints side by side at a grading table and grade the digital files based on those two prints. It's not as easy a process as it would seem... :)

As far as price for a print, that's really cheap. I know it seems like a lot, but if you want to see crazy money, check out how much original IBs of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz go for. Personally, I hate the movie, and can't fathom why anyone would spend around 5-6k on a Tech print of it... But that's just me! :)
