I was able to get a copy of the 1982 Kostal recording of Fantasia, and would like to mix it back into the video from the new Blu-ray. What would be involved in this? My thinking is:

Capture the video from the DVD

Convert to AVI (required?)

Open the AVI with an editor and add the 1982 soundtrack

Compress and burn to DVD with both the '41 and the '82 soundtracks.

Any suggestions for software are welcome. If anyone has Deems Taylor recordings, that would be great as well. Also, would love to share this with anyone, but is it considered a "custom DVD" by this forum? I tried to figure it out, but I'm not sure.

As would I. I always like to see films as they would appear on 16mm. Probably why I've amassed a small collection... :)

Didn't Lucas film Captain EO on 70mm? I seem to remember it was done for precisely the reason you list - better quality effects.

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say great job! I'm downloading the Trilogy now, and will watch this weekend, but from the Youtube clips, I expect to be amazed. Thanks for the restoration!

Just found this site, and amazed at the vast amount of knowledge combined with the devout hope for the Original Trilogy Original theatrical release.

George Lucas has completely alienated his strongest fan base.

I'd also like to get a copy of either the Mentor and/or the JoeyO copy of Song of the South. I have a copy of the original PAL tape, and tried to make a copy from that, but it didn't come out as clean as it should have.
