And now, Ludwig van Beethoven!!!
And now, Ludwig van Beethoven!!!
First up was Bumble Boogie, and now is Once Upon a Wintertime (severely abridged)...
OK, running the Magic and Music print right now. Guess what? It's Mylar LPP stock!
Only for the first 6-8 minutes, then, it switches over to Eastman... Acetate, too...
Let's see if the Pastoral is in here... (crosses fingers)
Definitely, and the only time I've seen RAH eat his words/backpedal on a statement. I know the guy (not personally, but exchanged correspondence with) who stood up to RAH and he really knows his stuff - he's worked with some of the ultimate authorities in the animation business, and is quite the expert in the field...
Oh, stupid. Yeah, I'm sorry - I meant to post the "Few Words" thread but was on my iPod, so just googled for it and posted the first thing that came up. Sorry about that! :S

There's a discussion about it on the Home Theater Forum's RAH review of Alice in Wonderland. RAH talked about the recoloring and changes as a plus, while one user who has access to the archives refuted the claims. Interesting discussion, if you've got about 30 min to spare...
Weird... The Russians have all the odd stuff... :)
Yep. "He could use the Force to influence the midi-chlorians to create...life. He had such a knowledge of the Dark Side, he could even keep the ones he cared about...from dying..."
I'd also been keeping some notes on things like cropping and stuff, but didn't think to do a real backup. We'll do what we can to get what we can remember back up...
Oh, and I don't know if I said on here, but I also got a 16mm IB Tech scope version of Sleeping Beauty...
Haven't gotten it in the mail yet - the seller was out of town, so they couldn't ship it until they got back - this morning. Unfortunately, it will go out Monday morning, so I probably won't get it until next Thurs. or Fri. :S
Ah, I love it when a plan comes together. Maybe we could even have one of those chase sequences where we're in a hallway full of doors?
lol

Oh man, what I would do to get my hands on the 35mm...
There is only one in the UK and I know where it will be if we are planning an elaborate Oceans 11 style heist
I'd be totally down for an old fashioned heist! lol
We could grab all of them while we're at it like in the old days of Star Wars... :)
Was I the only one who checked UPS one-day shipping? lol
Yeah, I think it is removing a lot of clutter from the OT board, but still getting the info out there.
Glad you like the banner, poita. I had to pick Westworld as one of the titles; I love that movie!
Wait - you mean not everybody has one?
Nice! Super 8mm I presume?
True. I don't know what they might look like, but 3 other reels should bring $10-$15 a piece at least...
OK, two updates:
I did get that Pinocchio print, and I did win the Magic and Music 16mm. Let's hope it is what we hope it is...
Here's the skinny on Pinocchio:
"Pinocchio (1940) Like New Print. Very Good color, contrast is a bit soft. Could be CRI print. Mylar stock. Mounted on 1x2000'ft reel and 1x1600'ft reel. Didn't see any splices. Complete print with titles."
Mylar=no vinegar, so it is a good print to add to my collection... Also might be a CRI, so that's even better.
I may be getting a print of Pinocchio on Fuji stock, which would be much better than that Eastman...
Oh, and it is the original theatrical - check Milner's death date... :)
I'm going to try....
I don't think anyone is debating the transfer quality o the BD. I think what people are talking about is the fact that the colors/other elements are changed. Sure, the blacks may be inky and the other colors "pop," but so do the colors in the Star Wars SE. It's just not the original release.
Anybody here win the Fantasia 35mm?
