We knew all this from earlier in the thread.
My bad. *shuts his newb mouth*
Apparently there people who are too shy to ask or think they need to somehow earn a myspleen invite. Don't worry about whether you are on other trackers or what your ratios are there. If you a member of OT or even just a lurker, then just ask and I will give you an invite. Just PM me.
It's my hope that enough OT folks use myspleen often enough that more people like Dark_Jedi will use myspleen to release their fanedits, preservations, etc.
BTW thanks, none, for your post above. :)
Hey my name is walkingdork. It's horrible name I know but 5 years ago I came up with Walking Dead - Dead + nerd = walkingdork. Instead it just looks like I'm a hiking enthusiast.
I'm 28 and I have two daughters (3 and 4). I have a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology (which is nearly useless in the job market) and I've worked at a halfway house for the mentally ill for 8 years. Oh, and I live in Wisconsin.
I'm an administrator on myspleen.org, I've been there for over 5 years, and I basically waste my life on the myspleen IRC channel. If you ever have any questions or complaints about myspleen, I'm your guy (or at least one of them)
I found OT.com about 4-5 years ago when Dark_Jedi was uploading his fanedits on myspleen. I thought I had an account once upon a time, but I just lurked on and off anyway.

I have a suggestion... first, welcome back, Ken. Your presence here is actually a wonderful opportunity for us. Let me try to explain...
I admire your intentions Puggo, but I think it's a wasted effort.
I'm not so sure. Instead of just arguing with the guy, we were able to find out that it's not that he hates the OOT or thinks the GL is God and should never be questioned, it just isn't a priority to him. He agrees that we should have the OOT available but probably thinks it's ridiculous to get hung up on it.
That more information than I knew yesterday. I just assumed that PT "gushers" were all just blind followers of GL who just agree with replacing history.

their are fans that like both versions.
We know that the SE is going to be changed again so that makes another version.
Some will prefer it, some will not.
If the previous versions aren't available for people to see anymore that's bad for almost any Star Wars fan.
Either way the original version of the film needs preservation and distribution because it is the point where the cultural artifact exited the author's mind and entered into the minds of the audience.
Exactly. If Lucas wants to add/change content to the OT to make it easier to expand into new and different stories then fine. I wouldn't put it past him to add some little tidbits that work more with the clone wars series or the upcoming series. That's his call.
But don't hide history! I could stomach some of these changes if he just included the original on Bluray as well. There a plenty of movies that have endured changes on some level that still offer the theatrical version when they are released. I think a lot of the GL hate could end overnight if Lucas would just include the OOT. Hell he'd even make that much more money making it available.
I know this has all been said before but I thought I'd take a turn to rant on the subject. :)

To be fair to the Georgians, Youtube is riddled with trolls (in fact it thrives on it), you would probably get similar comments if you posted on any subject but putting Star Wars into the mix puts out bait for the predators.
You might have got a lot of people countering the trolls if you left the comments on.
I completely agree.
Self expression is the entertainment of the future (facebook, twitter, etc) and everyone feels the need to add their two cents. Unfortunately the internet is full of assholes who feel the need to be vile and hateful just for the sake of being vile and hateful.

Sure the mainstream loves the PT and the new Indiana Jones movie, but that's because the mainstream thinks whatever they told to think.
Really? Any source for that?
Most of your posts about the PT/Clone Wars?
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Are you outing me as a PT apologist? :)
I think most of my posts about the PT are negative, except for the animated Clone Wars which were awesome mostly because they were done by Genndy Tartakovsky, the creator of Samurai Jack. I don't watch the current Clone Wars show.
I think my comment above was about people who eat up anything that GL comes up with.

I had to do a double take when I saw the poster for Atlas Shrugged Part 1 (can you see what I see?) :
The dollar sign shadow?
The Lucas arts logo is what he's referring too.
And whoever puts down the X-Wing series are idiots. That was definitly one of the best series of star wars i've ever read.
Ah, I see.

I enjoyed it, all except for the fact that each episode was 30 secs long!
They were originally just going to be commercials but GL changed his mind (go figure) and made it a actual show with a more in depth storyline.
I do know what you're saying and that why I love just throwing in the DVD and playing all of them at once. It's actually pretty seamless.

I'm looking for the 35mm Stereo mixes to Empire and Jedi. I know that dark_jedi has them on his GOUT v3 set, but I don't really want to download a large torrent like that. Could someone upload a FLAC to rapidshare or something? It'd be much appreciated. Thanks.
It's still site wide freeleech on myspleen so if you end up having to download it, at least you don't have to worry about ratio (not that myspleen is worried about anyone's ratio).
Since the 2D animated, Clone Wars series is OOP I decided to upload the OOP DVDs on Myspleen. Check them out, and if you want an invite please don't ask on this thread. Just PM me.
Thanks for the review, I think I'll wait to rent it. It certainly looks like it could be funny.

i think the red lightsaber is just a symbol of the Sith. You see a red saber you automatically think: "It's a Sith". kinda like that debate on whether or not all the Empire's lasers should be green and the Rebel's be red.
Personally I would never consider purchasing a blaster or a lightsaber unless it has an option to change colors. :P

Wow, why couldn't George make Padme this lifelike and smoking hot? ;)
Because George is a crappy writer. Simples
Even if you hate Star Wars and Indiana Jones, he still wrote Willow, THX 1138, American Graffiti, and Captain EO. GL may be a lot of things but he's not a crappy writer in my opinion.
Back on topic, how many people have seen this and it is worth seeing (beyond seeing Natalie Portman naked)
Someone uploaded "Star Wars IV: ANH revisited by Adywan" and I have several questions about it.
One is that the ISO uploaded is a Single Layer DVD and I see that there is a Dual Layer DVD available. Does anyone know if there is a significant quality difference and if the ISO uploaded is the one available elsewhere (MU, RU, etc.)
There is also no real description at all. If we decide to keep this torrent what should I add as the description? Just the info from FE?
I sort of wish there was an official uploader for putting up old fanedits/preservations/etc on myspleen so I don't have to worry about policing future OT torrents. If anyone is interested and already has a collection of the original files and not the shrunk/ripped/reencoded files I see scattered around the internet, then let me know. I'm not sure how OT staff/leaders feel about any of this so please jump in if I am out of bounds.
Thanks

Howard the Duck is another example.
Never!
Never what? I'm saying that Howard the Duck is an awesome movie, but how many people under the age of 25 have ever even seen it? Obviously that probably excludes anyone on OT or similar online communities (if they haven't seen it they should take time to do so right now).

I don't recall Gremlins 2 being bad enough to be good. But it's been a long time...
When the masses of chaos break into song (New York, New York of all songs) it's not something that can be taken seriously. I love that movie and I think it's great but I think it has too many "yeah right" moments to be considered a good movie by most people.
If everyone here disagrees and thinks it a great movie then it's just further proof to me that I'm hanging out in the right place ;)
Example: most people in America probably don't think Flash Gordon was a good movie, but I'm sure most people here on OT would agree that Flash Gordon is an awesome movie. Howard the Duck is another example.
My favorite "so bad, it's good" movie is easily Gremlins 2. It's not a good movie, but for some reason I just love the ridiculousness of it.
