walkingdork, there used to be a trrnt in th'spleen called "BLAK0009: The 1975 Casting Auditions".  If it is not showing up in unseeded, does that mean it's 'lost' or is there some other location for neglected trrnts?

It's not on Myspleen now so it means it was either deleted by the uploader or deleted by the old system. We haven't deleted dead torrents in at least 3-4 years, but I'm not sure how Xavier had it set up way pack in 2005.

There's an internal debate happening with the site owners. Don't think we'll get honest feedback on that.

That's right. I want there to be a Star Wars category and another admin sees it differently. Unfortunately he's the guy writing the code so it's sort of an uphill battle. :) He's currently working on a tag system and wants to create a fanedit/preservation category and just make SW a tag. I am against this since 1) Fanedits and Preservations are not similar  enough to combine and 2) A Star Wars category itself would have just as many torrents would have just as many torrents as most of the other categories.

Another idea is to create tags and do away with categories all together, so there's a lot of ideas getting tossed around.

The other admin has agreed to create a testing stage for all ideas, see what works and then decide on what direction to go.

I'll keep you guys updated, but in the meantime feel free to add your opinions to the conversation. It will definitely help. Thanks

Just gave you 25 invites. If you ever go through that let me know and I'll give you more. :)

Hey walkingdork, can you can spare some more invites, I am on empty at the moment, I have a few that have not been redeemed yet, I will wait a few more days, and if still not redeemed, I will cancel and save for people that will set up an account right away, Thanks.

you're good to go.

We're currently working on a tag system so if Star Wars doesn't get a category it will at least have a tag.

has it been considered before about star wars having its own catergory on the spleen, old and new uploads would be better organised

DAMN, I couldn't agree with you more on that, I was actually going to PM walkingdork or IceyFlamez on that very same thing, especially if the site is going to stay around, we need our own category.

So what do you think walkingdork? can it be done for us SW guys?

It's a great. We'll hopefully have 4 new categories coming soon: Star Wars, Saturday Night Live, Talk Shows, and maybe Conan (since so many of our talk show torrents are Conan O'Brien related.

We have been working on this but other things have come up and it has sort of fallen to the back burner. Hopefully we can get this done soon.

well let's get crackin LOL, and don't forget our T-shirts! I won one remember?

just messin wit ya.

HAHA, we were just talking about T-shirts. Icy is going to mail them out, it was just a matter of arguing where we buy them from and what is a good price.

As for Star Wars category, IcyFlamez brought up the idea of naming the category "Fanedits/Preservations." How does everyone feel about that?

Yeah, you're right, I could leave it for a day, but I am just impatient. I spend money on a faster internet connection and I so the idea of waiting doesn't appeal to me.

As long as we are talking about alternatives to Myspleen, I'd like to bring up demonoid. I understand a lot of fanedits and preservations are uploaded on demonoid and while I'm not saying you shouldn't upload there, I will argue that myspleen is better suited for the OT.com community. Like OT, we don't promote piracy of commercially available material. All our torrents are commercially unavailable. Our content is either out of print, unreleased, etc where demonoid offers retail DVDs, programs, and similar pirated material topped with cracks and keygens. I'm not going to say that I am personally against such things, but clearly it's not line with OT mindset.

Myspleen also has a community that will receive fanedits and preservations with more enthusiasm. Even a lot of newer myspleen members, who don't remember the when fanedit/preservation uploads were a regular occurrence, have shown a lot of interest. I'm sure many of them have been lurking around OT.com to see when Dark_Jedi and others will be releasing new stuff. I realize that you could say the same about fanedit.info, but for those who prefer torrents, let myspleen be another feather in OT's hat. :)

Sorry, Frink. This post turned into quite a rant.

Have you tried jdownloader?  It's really easy using it to grab SWB off of fanedit.info.  Same with his other two edits.

I don't mind that they are split into a few dozen rar files, but I don't like the idea of paying Rapidshare to download it. Sure I can get it for free, but then there's annoying wait times between each of those rar files.

Don't know if it is the right or wrong thread for this, but could someone possibly seed the reivax version of star wars on myspleen ?

Seeding.

Sorry about that, I just bought a new 2TB hard drive and I'm moving all my Star Wars stuff over. I should have them all seeding again soon, but if there are any other SW torrents that need priority, let me know.

Anyone got any links to the Star Tours preservations? I have a version that I tried to color-correct, but it still never looked very good. Too many blown-out details.

It's seeded on myspleen.org right now. If it's slow, let me know and I can seed it and give it some more speed (I should seed it anyway when I finish installing my new hard drive). And if anyone needs an invite, just PM me or ask for invites here.  Don't ask on this thread, please.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)

I have to agree with Zombie84. I have at least 30 Criterion DVDs and I have nothing but love for them. They are definitely the reason you see other DVD sets with theatrical versions and other features. I've discovered some interesting films by just getting random movies that look even mildly interesting.

I love Brazil (definitely see it, if you haven't yet) and although I don't own the CC Brazil DVD set, I have seen one of the versions on that set and enjoyed it. What specifically didn't you like about Brazil or Time Bandits, xhonzi? I'm thinking about getting the Brazil set soon but if there's an issue maybe I'll reconsider (it's not cheap).

I didn't realize that Star Tours in Disney World was gone. Glad I went on it both times I was there.

This thread reminded me that I have the Star Tours preservation DVD somewhere. I should dig it up and watch it.

EDIT: On second thought....

This is a great collection of rare material from the Disney Star Tours ride, including the Star Tours News Kit.  I wanted to make sure this disc got out there, because it appears I may have the only working copy of this disc left.  There are some great as well as groan-worthy moments on this disc, including some things like the really cheesey opening ceremony and C-3PO rapping.  Yes, you heard right.

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago had a Jim Henson exhibit recently (perhaps it's still there?).  These puppets were some of his original creations on display.  So awesome!

It's not, I was just there a month ago. Maybe it was replaced with the Body Works exhibit that was there (which was great).
