Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist

The worst scene in the entire saga (yes, worse than jarjar) has to be that awful reunion scene on the rebel fleet in ROTJ. Please, shorten/cut that one. You know, the moment Luke shows up and decides to join Han and Leia... everyone starts smiling and hugging and laughing... *shivers* it's just like watching a bloody soap opera. It always felt out of place and very un-Star Wars to me.
I never got why they were so emotional anyway: they saw each other on Tatooine right? Luke went to visit Yoda after that, but as Yoda died not much after Luke arrived, it seems hard to believe Luke would stay there a few extra weeks before joining up with his friends again.

What ever it is that you are smoking maybe you should consider stoping it cold turkey. NOTHING is worst than Jarjar. LOL

Second the scene you speak of needed to be shown with that way; the emotional reunion of good friends that have come through years of struggle to be where they are now. Not only are they about to emabark on the last great battle to try to finally defeat the empire but the scene also shows the connection Leia has with Luke who is now a little uneasy with her and she picks up on that although she doesn't know why yet....

I for one hope this scene is left just the way it is. And if it were possible my wish would be that EVERY JarJar scene be cut out and deleted from the prequels for all eternity.

Well I must say the visual tuition has helped if I wasn’t thinking and brought up the print screen shots I’d still be chasing my tail.

Thanks.

What are you talking about now? I think you have me mixed up with someone else. I have no idea to what you are referring to.....

You might try defragmenting your hard drive and/ or rebooting.....

Can you send the http link and I can load it into KeepVid and then hopefully watch it on the pc, for crying out loud!

You have no idea what you're doing or what it is you are asking. Adywan already gave you the "http links", as you put it. They're the 3 part video files. I know you're frustrated but there is little anyone can do for you if you can't follow simple instructions. Download the files, unpack them using winrar into one file, and play the mpg with WMP after you've installed the codec pack. Got it?

It works PERFECTLY in WMP.

Here is a link to a codec pack.
Just download the basic one and install. You shouldn't have any problems viewing Adywans stuff after that.

Thank you Adywan.

I'm pretty sure that blowing up Tatooine isn't part of my edit.
There's 30 mins left of the upload so shouldn't be too long now

Ah my bad....I meant Alderaan.....just too excited to think straight right now....

Adywan, I feel like a POS for pointing something out......please forgive me but

after Moff Tarkin finishes his dialog "then name the system" there is a quick shot to Leia then back to Moff and it looks like his mouth and throat are moving as if he is saying something but with nothing being heard....

What do you think?

Windows Media Player works fine. You'll need a xvid codec though.

Hey, reave, could you possibly please load those clips onto youtube or some other site. For some damn reason Rapid Share doesn't work on my laptop. I get sound but no picture.

Just got finished going through your whole updated list ady, whew. You're definitely in tune with the majority of Star Wars fans in what needed to be fixed. Well at least in tune with us old 1st generation fans who've been around since '77. The screen shots look great, can't wait for January.

Your problem isn't rapidshare, rapidshare is just the host from where you downloaded the video. When you view the video it isn't on rapidshare anymore but on your hard drive.....you more than likely need an updated video codec to view the video.

Question, ady, when you finally completed this edit have you thought about maybe mailing a copy to Lucasfilm, LTD with a list of all the changes you made and why you made them? Perhaps adding a polite letter with some constructive criticism to Mr. Lucas as to why he didn't make these changes himself with all the money, power, and resources at his command.

No offense but this would be extremely foolish. I seriously doubt Adywan would be that shortsighted. You seriously think mailing LFL a copy of a fan edit is a smart idea? Please no one do this as this would put undo pressure on this website and put Adywan in harms way. Why? Because unlike the majority of Star Wars fan edits, (which are fair and way better than I could ever hope to do), Adywan's is BETTER than the 2004 DVDs and puts LFL to shame. I don't know about anyone else but I am looking forward to Ady's ESB and ROTJ versions as well....

I have such mixed feelings about this project....

While it is frustrating watching year after year go by with little or no updates, it is understandable....

I hope Laserman one day has the desire and strength to complete his part of this project, but sadly, now that its almost 2008 I have to be honest and say I not holding my breathe anymore....

I still think that the X0 project is or was the best chance of ever watching the OT to as close to the real thing as we'll ever get.....Good Luck X0 project. May the new year be a good one for the X0 team.

I've given a lot of praise already, I guess that's all were allowed to post anymore according to you. We can't ask questions or give suggestions.

Don't you feel a little stupid posting this? Now that member after member AGREES with me? I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I was trying to kindly ask you to stop with the suggestions already. Adywan has said that the time for our ideas and suggestions has come and GONE. There was no need for you to be a jerk yourself.
So again I ask you to please stop with the edit and fix ideas for ADYWAN"S edit. Thank you.

Dude, What does it matter? Its done. Please stop asking questions and let Ady work.....you'll know soon enough, as will the rest of us.
