Really? What was so bad about it? I don't remember there being that many complaints about it when it came out.

To Skot and Zombie84 and LordJedi, remember I am expressing my OPINION.

For one the audio mix fades in and out at certain times, the video exposure to my taste was too dark....

Same with this tv series. Writers strike really is irrelevant cause the scripts were pretty much finalized before it started.

Is your life so boring that you have time to bitch and whine on a forum that nobody seems to like you on? How lame.

And has anyone had any problems in other players? I'd like to get this issue resolved for the DVD-9

Unfortunately, who really knows how people burnt their discs? I would not be surprised to hear discs having problems that were burned on cheap discs, burned at high speeds....

If you burn your disc at anything but its slowest possible speed you will have errors period. I would only believe there is a problem with the ISO if someone tried Taiyo Yuden's ( or equal ), burnt @ 4X, with a new clean burner, and it didn't work....other than that its a crap shoot...

Are you still uploading Ady?

The par files do no good with the whole file missing unless I am missing something.....no pun intended on the "missing"

All the parts are there. Get a better service or refresh.

seriously, I am fine being patient and waiting for it. the above is merely a question, not an impatient demand.

I'm just not having good luck with newsgroups, and RS has always been good to me.

i have paid to giganews for one month, and i think i've lost my money... i've downloaded the pal version, with a lot of incomplete files and i don't know how repair it...

rapidshare is my hope... a new hope

Can someone verify that? I was under the impression that the PAR files will fix parts of the rars that are corrupt, but will they replace a whole rar that is missing?

No. The 34 rar file is there, however it is one of the incompletes.

Ironically, the NTSC version has many less missing parts!
(Which isn;t too bad...)

oh well.. ho-hum!!! ;' )))

I don;t think it will matter how big the PAR set is, I think I'm still gonna have to wait for the torrent for the *real proper* disc.
(Or see what it ultimately ends up missing and maybe REQ selected individual RARs in the NG??)

NOTE TO THOSE DESPERATE:
The original *broken* post does still work.
You can view the film if you really want to see it.. just don;t copy it for people or torrent it.

Cheers again Ady.

yeah, your server must have poor retention or something (ie crap , try giganews instead).....the only files for the NTSC version that are incomplete are files 27 thru 34, and they are no where near as incomplete as your server is saying they are.

*Correction* Ah I see you were referring to the PAL files....however with the PAL files the story is even better....only files 26 thru 32 are incomplete...

I'm a bit confused here. So the NTSC DVD torrent is going up at the same time? I thought it was coming next weekend or something...

He's not talking about a torrent, its a binary file posted in the a.b.starwars group on usenet. Torrents are a completely different subject altogether.

The DVD looks completely awesome. I got to tell ya Adywan, I liked the motion menu clip of the tie fighter swarm in front of the death star......very cool....I wish that was in the movie...sorry couldn't help myself.

Don't worry about it Adywan. If anything now we know that Adywan is human after all and not the SW Editing God that we thought you were......

this is a small, lo-res mockup, not intended to a downloadable graphic yet

I wanted to go very minimalist with wording. in fact, if I used disc art I would do this without any words at all

thoughts?

I vote to keep it as is, but with the hi-res artwork of course....I like the look of the title on there.

How different in quality will the PAL version be from the NTSC?

Will there be any point in NTSC users converting the PAL version to their format to watch (rather than waiting for you to do it)?

PAL DVDs won't play in most NTSC rack DVD players, there are region free DVD players but most people in NTSC land don't have those.

But Ady posted trailers I have been able to watch in the PAL format I do believe. Which is it, can NTSC people watch the PAL format if they burn this to DVD? I

Yawn,......

You seriously need to calm down and relax. You also might want to educate yourself a little on the whole PAL/NTSC thing.....Google comes to mind.

Hi! I just wanted to add a quick comment on the discussion involving dual-layer discs. Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is the reliability of blank dual-layer media. From my experience with burning dual-layer discs, they are somewhat unreliable. I almost never have a burn fail, but the few times it happened, it was with dual-layer media. In fact, 2 out of a package of 5 failed during burning. Also, I generally use Verbatim, and scan my discs after burning using Nero disc speed. My burner does an exceptional job with Verbatim discs. However, dual-layer discs, even Verbatims, do not fare well when scanning - error rates are substantially higher. I just wanted people to consider this when deciding which version to burn. I myself am looking forward to the DVD-9 version of Adywan's release, but I almost never use DVD-9s. It would be a shame to lose the extras that Adywan is creating, but I think sometimes reliabilty is sacrificed when using DL discs.

Back to the main topic, Adywan, I'm glad to hear that you have solved your computer woes. It's too bad that some people are giving you a hard time over this project. I'm pretty sure none of them have half the talent that you do. I'm definitely waiting anxiously for the DVDs.

Burn at a slower speed or buy a new burner. I burn to DVD-DL discs all the time and never have errors on disc.

When I was reading the crawl I was thinking "WTF? This doesn't make any sense". After a few Jar Jar'isms and horrible Lucas slapstick along with the BAD acting and dialogue, I leaned over to my friend and whispered "This is HORRIBLE!" I wanted to walk out half way through, and by the time it was over I wished I had. My friend said that he thought it was bad the first time he saw it but that he must have somehow just not "understood" what Lucas was trying to do. He understood after two times seeing it, for sure. I remember being so blown away at how truly awful and clueless GL had become and was insulted as a child of the 70's growing up on Star Wars. Little did I realize that that was only really the first salvo of insults headed my way....

OK thats just weird. That's almost exactly the same way I saw TPM, I was 31 in '99, saw it with a buddy, thought it sucked, wanted to talk about it during the movie, felt insulted, didn't know more crap was on its way.....

Oh wait there was one difference...on the way out of the theater, I told the 300' line of SW hopefuls that was waiting outside that the movie sucked and to save their money....I remember running for my car....

Check this out.

External DL burners...so easy even you could do it.
