Wait what's the difference between DVD5 and DVD9?

You mean other than taking two seconds of your own time to Google it and find out for yourself?

DVD-5 is a standard DVD with the capability of holding 4.7 GB of data. A DVD-9 is a dual layer DVD capable of holding 8.5 GB of data.

Thus the DVD9 version will have a higher bitrate, the better the bitrate the better the quality of the image.

Uh, yeah, I'm sure he was "moderately" drunk after graduating. Most recent grads I've know don't get "moderately" drunk after graduating from anything.

Well now that you have made a generalized statement about something you knew very little about, it can hold up for any situation.

People can drink responsibly but no one graduating college can drink moderately...youve got it all figured out and its obvious you thought your statements through LOL

You truly are an indignant prick. And a predictable tool as usual :)

ah I see now, making friends and influencing people is what you do here.....very nice. Keep up the good work.

The SE wampa IMO is the only SE shot that LFL got right.....the only problem is its too well done and makes the 30 year old wampa stand out....

To me all the other SE shots in the OT just plain look bad...the quality wasn't there....but the SE wampa shot atleast looked like, whoever

was in charge of that shot, cared about it.

However I understand about taking it out as well....it does spoil the suspense.

i have to give a huge appology to Darth Stewie. I guess the lack of sleep and pressure to catch up with what i had already done, only to have to start everything again from scratch now i'm doing it in 1080p, just turned me into a cranky old git. I really do appreciate all the input you have done to this project. Seeing a post about a totally unrelated movie just got my attention at completely the wrong time, and i just lost it ( which as everyone knows is totally out of character for me). So i am truly sorry. No one is going on my ignore list. i don't have one.

I guess i am pushing myself too hard to get this edit done in the shortest possible time, but without cutting corners. The pressure is really on me to live up to ANH:R, which i totally didn't expect. Also i don't want to have to be still doing these movies when i'm 50+, which is how old i'll be if each one takes 2 years+.

Again, i'm sorry. I guess i was seduced by the dark side. But i'm all better now. lol

Ady, you could cuss me out like a drunkin sailor and it wouldn't tarnish the admiration I have for your talent and long hours you have put into your projects.....and on top of that you decide to SHARE your finished projects with the rest of us....It's OK if you want to be grumpy from time to time Ady, you've earned it!

I personally think that ESB needs the most effects work of any of the OT. Lucas barely touched the effects (unlike ANH, where many shots were replaced with CG). And thus, ESB feels very dated (effects-wise I mean, the story is great). ANHR has a very pristine feeling because Ady chose to keep all of Lucas's CG as well as touch up and clean up the effects himself. Coming off of ANHR and watching ESB 2004, the movie looks like it was made 30 years earlier. If Ady wants his OT to feel consistent throughout, then he needs to do a LOT of work on ESB. The only elements that aren't noticeably badly composited are the walkers, and even they could use some stop motion blur or something. Everything needs it's color tweaked for consistency and I think Ady needs to really clean up all of the effects scenes. As long as we get at least as much work as was done on ANHR it should be great. This is a Revisited project, not a Preservation effort.

Adywan did not "keep all of the 04 CG"....most of it was pure crap. Adywan replaced GL's CG (or added to it) with his own CG. Adywan also dumped quite a bit of it into the bin.....thank you Adywan. :)

Actually, the only cg Ady added were new TIE fighters in the Yavin battle and the only CG he removed were some of the silly and intrusive creatures and robots in the sequence entering Mos Eisley

Actually you couldn't be more wrong....LOL Maybe you need to visit the fisrt page of ANH-R....you might find that enlightning.....I seem to remember a new planet or something....a whole scene being REMOVED.....Aw wait wasn't there a brand new EXSPLOSION at the end of the movie?......lol.I could go on...

Wait I think my severed forearm and hand  hurts just writing this.....

Theres far to much talk about the PT in this thread!

Whilst it may be good to throw the odd occasional ideas for Jedi:Revisited for somewhere down the line, the topic at hand is primarily Empire:Revisited.

Ady has a big enough workload with this project alone, without getting side tracked about talk of two or three other projects on from here, that he may, or may not even be bothered to do in the end.

Just help him to focus on making the best he can do with what hes got.

Empire for me is arguably the best Star Wars film in the saga, so when its to the standard Ady is happy with, im sure most of us will appreciate the choices hes made.

Im just surprised no one has asked for a possible release date for this yet as thats usually the norm!

I agree 100%. Let's see how the new PT gushers that usually have less than 20 posts to their name respond to this......

doh! I encountered another problem. Since its actually my sister's computer that has the burner, I tried to put the revisited.iso file onto a usb-drive but it just won't work. It keeps claiming that the disk is full even though I've checked the numbers and there should be almost half the space left. That should be plenty of room, so I'm a bit lost on this one. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

USB drives are usually formatted in FAT32, which can only handle 4 GB files maximum. I had the same problem.

Ah not really. USB could care less what file system the drive is formated with. It's like saying IDE drives are usually formatted in FAT32.

Anyway....all my USB drives are NTFS....never had a problem. The only reason to be using FAT32 is if you were still running Win98....go NTFS, much better. :)

So, you have to use Winrar or Daemon Tools to create an iso file before burning to DVD, correct? Does it matter which one I use?

No. Daemontools is only to mount an image. Use Winrar to unpack the rars to give you the ISO file, then burn

What's "mounting an image"?

After downloading all the parts of the movie off Rapidshare, do I have to use Daemontools at all if I want to burn the film to DVD? Can someone tell me exactly what I do after downloading?

You're not listening....read what Adywan just told you to do again.

Then, use Google.com to find out how to burn an ISO image file.

Just watched the second Emperor scene you've done, GM, and I love it too. Radically different take on it, lots of fun! And I still really like the interruption. Makes you remember that under that tough guy exterior, he's still a whiny brat that needs a good talking to from time to time.

Maybe not so much the whinny brat but it reiterates who's boss...the Emperor isn't going to put up with any arguments....
