I'm really looking forward to seeing that "Yoda with CGI emotes" test clip. Is it coming soon?
Just putting the finishing touches to the colour correction. I have about 15 or so shots left to do. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of next week and the 1080p AVCHD version should be out a short time after. I won't be doing any FX work until after Christmas because i still need to plan a few things out and Christmas is a pretty busy time for me, so no new shots until the New Year.
Hey Ady,
With the AVCHD version will the transparent hoth scenes be fixed? or is that something to be done only in the revisited version?
There is nothing wrong with the archive. Try rebooting your computer. Why is the archive in the root of the unpacked archive? It looks like you already unpacked everything already....
C3PX said:No matter how you spin it, this change came quickly, much quicker than the prvious change....
Not when you compare it to any other form of entertainment or personal technology.
I don't hear people bitching about how fast pagers went bye bye, or how now every 6 months or so there is brand new cell tech to get used too.
What about personal computing? Still hanging on to that 486?
Please...times are a changing and changing faster all the time. It is to be expected.
Try 11 going on 12 years ago.

Yes reading the rules when you sign up to a new forum is such a foreign concept...what was I thinking?

As far as your problem goes you need to get all the files in the archive then unpack them.
Well, let's see; this makes my second post and there are 261 pages to this thread; so it would be easy to miss something. But now I know - and knowing is half the battle.
Jason
Well, thanks for being a smart ass. The first thing you should always do when joining ANY forum is READ THE RULES. The sticky is here. It is posted clear as day at the top of the fan edit section.

Yep, James Ellison is the idiot we all hoped he be...but I guess he's not the first to be duped by a woman...
Who gives a shit?
And I thought I knew what passive aggresive meant, damn.
Adywan, may the wind be at your back. May your creative juices flow and may ESB:R get done in record time...
Kurgan said:Nice comparison mockup (a few pages back), but to me those TIEs look washed out, like the film is old or something. Blue provides a better contrast with the brown asteroids and black background.
Here is a mockup I did, using the models from the XWA Upgrade project.
On the left is the gray "ANH" TIE fighter, the middle is the blue "ESB" TIE they did, and on the right is one where I just took the desaturated blue TIE and put a blue overlay on it.
Now what happens when I up the contrast about 50%:
To adywan, they look bad in 1980 ESB, but I just can't see it... and they go by so quickly, I don't think the average viewer is going to notice the difference between the properly colored blue TIE and an improperly colored one. They certainly don't look as bad as what I did above on the right, in the actual movie. Once you remove the garbage mattes, people will think they look great... all you need to do is make the color uniform. I thought the brilliant blue TIEs in the Executor flyby scenes (CGI enhanced for the first SE iirc), look amazing.
I do agree though that the TIEs in 1980 are INCONSISTENT, in that from one shot to the next, they look more blue, or more blue-gray, and some of the TIEs in the same shot look slightly more blue than the others. If you made them all the same uniform blue color (allowing of course for changes in lighting and so forth), that'd be the real improvement.
Perhaps if Ady did a brief clip showing what he means by a "properly" colored TIE (that we could compare to the 1980 "improperly" colored version), that would clear up all this once and for all?
Luke couldn't have a red lightsaber?
;)
(and for reference, Vader isn't Green in the comic, nor does Leia have flaming red hair, but everyone has a red saber throughout the Marvel Comics run... they were recolored to match the movies in the 1990's Dark Horse remix, though. Also Yoda was blue in the ESB series, and Jabba, irrc, was pinkish, in the ROTJ series).
(Gotta love inaccurate teasers on Comic book covers!)
I'm just teasing about the red sabers, but I thought people might need a nostalgic reminder that they weren't always blue (or even yellow)!
Adywan's already given you his answer.. STOP ALREADY PLEASE. Stop being a complete douche bag and let it go already.
Adywan has already told you what he's doing. All the examples and "To adywan, they look bad in 1980 ESB, but I just can't see it... arguments are not going to change anything...
For fuck's sake you are annoying...
PSYCHO_DAYV said:THAT WOULDN'T SURPRISE ME, AND THAT WOULD BE A REALLY COOL STORY LINE.
I bet she would keep her cover and pretend that she can help the Conners stop SkyNet...
She seems to be not as interested in the Conners as in the creation of SkyNet...
Congrats Kurgan, NOW you're a troll.
Anybody think that James Ellison will be a idiot and introduce the Conners to the liquid metal terminator?

Yes
Adywan, please trust yourself and trust that there are hundreds, if not thousands at this point, of people that thoughly enjoyed your ANH:R edit. ESB:R is going to be just as exciting to see as it was when it was shown on the big screen....keep up the great work Ady. You have my upmost respect and admoration....as I have no idea how you do some of the things you do....:)
MAKE ESB:R THE WAY YOU WANT. After all, ITS YOUR EDIT.
What I can I say, other than WOW! You do amazing work Ady, keep it up.
adywan said:vbangle said:Ady, if it isn't too uncomfortable to talk about and I think I speak for everybody here...How are you and your family doing? We appreciate your work on the SW projects but I think we are more concerned with how you are doing......
Isn't this country great when the law protects the guilty.
That's not right, I'm sorry Ady.
adywan said:Well i managed to get shit loads done today. The colour correction is coming along pretty fast now. So here's the new comparison clip i promised. Trying to keep 3PO's colour constant was a bit of a nightmare. Just look at his colouring in the original video compared to mine and you'll see what i mean. Some shots he was almost black & white. Gotta love those colour correction guys at ILM. I bet they're really proud of their work

Oh, I think he does get it....oh yeah, he gets it alright.
C3PX said:negative1 said:C3PX said:-1, if I could use two words to describe you, it would be "yes-man". You seem to be of the "bend over and take it philosophy". Not that there is anything wrong with that, from what I understands it makes life a hell of a lot easier.
easier ? no its the exact opposite....
It is easier my friend, because rather than struggling and resisting, you simply bend over, relax, and wait for them to insert their penis into your anal cavity. When you stuggle and resist, and tighten up your muscles, it hurts a lot more.
Damn it C3PX, you made me upchuck my lunch by laughing so hard......
AvP said:ImperialFighter said:Avp - A neat cover there. Some accompanying disc art would be good too.
disc art made....
Yes, very nice indeed. Thank you for your time and effort that went into these.
Darth Chaltab said:They're leaving the basic architecture the same as Vista, but I think they're going to target the issues a lot of people had with it.
Which is why this release is bullshit. Instead of a new $300 OS this should of been SP2 or SP3...regardless it's a complete bend over and take it in the ass moment from Uncle Bill again.....no thanks.
