Hello from Mexico guys, I´m new here but I have been following the progress of this fabulous project, and also I´m a huge Star Wars fan.

Here´s the thing.

My Blu-ray player doesn´t play the AVCHD format.

It is a DMTECH BDP180, and because it isn´t a well known brand, it doesn´t have firmwares yet.

So, is there a way I could transform/burn these videos or MKV x264 to a DVD in a format that my Blu-ray player really recognices?

Any help, guys?

Dear Wookiegroomer,

I've tried to D/L the latest ESB Proper Reissue but I'm coming up 79 blocks short. Tried to complete using both alt.binaries.starwars and alt.binaries.blu-ray.

Any chance of posting more PAR files?

Wookie Groomer doesn't post here anymore it would seem. Maybe I can help. With the 4 or 5 broken parts, I was able to repair the file with the existing pars. Make sure you got all the parts downloaded and also maybe you should try re-downloading the parts that are damaged. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I tried do overs, but no luck.

The RAR files that are the smallest in size are: 113, 142, 186, 275, 276, 278, 293, 294, 295, 296, 317, 344, 345, 346, 353. These are the actual file #'s needed (i.e: # 113 would have been posted as 115/425, but the actual file name # is 113.

But 4 or 5 additional large PAR files might do the trick.

Get a better news server, yours sucks.

Welcome back, -1.

Wait, you've acquired a (possible) girlfriend?

Forget it, guys...negative1 will never have time to work on the project now!  Move along, nothing to see here... ;)

 dude,

i dont' know your situation..

but for the last 2 weeks i've been out almost every night until at least 3am !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the girls 23, and she REALLY knows how to party..

trust me, i'm as baffled as anyone about how this came about,

its a really long, and weird story..

there are some things in life that come along, and you

just have to go for it... (like getting the SW prints)..

this is one chance for me, that i've never had before,

and as much as i love 'star wars', there's some things

that just don't compare..

be seeing you

+1

You're one sick fuck, you know that? The GIRL is half your age, you perverted sick bastard. You should be ashamed of yourself. You're old enough to be her father.

And yes you have some nerve coming back, and you keep babbling on about how sad your life is so that we'll all understand and feel sorry for you...jeez get a life.

I've managed to convert Ady's Episode IV and V Color Corrected into MKV and they play beautifully on the WDTV player.

I can see why he's done his in AVCHD format seeing as most people would have either a PS3 or Blu-Ray player but to be honest the whole ISO burning process takes way too long + I want to be able to simply play the movie without having to insert a disc.

And hey, who's needs a AVCHD anyway when there are no menus to begin with??

if u are using the wdtv hd player it can read it straight from the original *.iso file ;) no need to convert them (same with dvds too)

no it can't

vbangle: Yea i know it looks sort of deformed, i went back in to get some flux impurities and the solder followed the iron up a bit. The silver sometimes does not mix all the way with the rest but its 100% connected the shiny solder makes it look suspect too.

No biggie, I just thought I'd say something...this project has such great potential, I'd feel like an idiot if I saw something in your pics that needed attention and didn't say anything...

I used to assemble prototypes for the EE boys in less time than the board house could...but that was when my eyes where MUCH better...

Didn't wanna act like I was super duper important, so I made a general thread that could be used by others, just in case they're going on a trip and feel like alerting everyone else.  Ya know, just so people don't go "WHERE'S SO-AND-SO?"

Just lettin yall know that I'm going away for 2 weeks at Philmont, scout ranch in New Mexico.  Backpacking at least 66 miles, will return on the 19th.  Cya then dudes and dudettes!

FYI, to all you peeps who think that torrents are free , go ask your mommy how much the ISP bill is each month. Now back to your regular scheduled programming...

I think a shockwave in any form is a good idea.  It seems in the original that Alderaan just sort of popped like a balloon when hit, which I don't think works very well for a planet.  Since the Death Star is basically overpowered reactor and metal, I think its alright and even more dramatic when it just pops.

A shockwave from an explosion in SPACE, which is a vaccum, wouldn't be pancaked into a narrow ring. If you're going to show a shockwave in a vaccum have it radiate in all directions at once. IMO much more believable that way.

I was wondering why did you remove the Jabba scene was it really that bad? I mean it was meant to be in the movie from the very beginning just budget made it where they couldn't also they had not fully decided on what Jabba looked like. I enjoy all the changes but that one. But I am sure you have a good reason for it

Yet another sock puppet?

No, Ralph McQuarrie painted them 30 years ago, they just weren't used in the original movie, I don't think. The red tibana collector added was also from McQuarrie's original design, and I would keep it in.

By the way, to post pics do I need to upload them and link to them from here, or can I just upload them to here?

Thanks,

DV

You'll need to upload them to a host first. Either your own web space or a free image host like imageshack....

Why LCD? I thought plasma had better contrast ratio, faster response and wider viewing angle. I'm new to all this so I don't really know.

Yeah, but not the plasma you picked....sorry.

Panasonic is fine but go for at least a 1080p set....720p sets are antiquated by now....

Rule of thumb is...

1. Bright room, either lit with sunlight or brigth lights go with an LCD

2. Darker room, setup for movie viewing, low level lighting or non at all, go for the plasma.

It all depends on how you're going to spend the majority of your viewing time...

Let's see.

1. Complaining about irrelevant issues (fanedit.org, with whom we are not affiliated in any way). Check.

2. Being a whiny bitch (about your supposedly deleted review on fanedit.org). Check.

3. Being factually incorrect (fanedit.org didn't delete your review after all; Adywan's project, whatever you might think of it, was not a simple or easy one). Check.

I could go on and on. And I will.

4. Ignoring what others say to you (the Purist version of ANH:R lacks many of the changes about which you've been complaining, yet you continue to complain about them rather than just get the Purist edit). Check.

5. Trying to justify your complaining (your comments may come under the heading of criticism, but there is no way they are constructive in the slightest). Check.

6. Not actually reading the thread to which you're replying (most of us aren't yes-men; almost all of us could name something about Revisited that we didn't like and if you read any decent amount of the thread you would know this). Check.

7. Being sarcastic ("dares to offer a counterpoint to blind praise") and antagonistic (your vague talk of piracy, as though we're tantamount to thieves). Check.

...get the picture?
