But then this guy said here,

Ultimately it's up-to you what resolution you use to generate your encodes....

Some people prefer to generate cropped encodes with "non-square" pixel (ie: anamorphic) resolutions, such as: 720x432. Others prefer to generate cropped encodes with "square" pixel resolutions, such as: 1024x432.

When the video decoding chip-sets within hardware players were limited to support a maximum resolution of 720x576 (total 414,720) pixels, you had to generate anamorphic encodes if you wanted the image pixel area of your encode to match that of the source.

Today however, the video decoding chip-sets within hardware players are able to support a maximum resolution of 1920x1088 (total 2,088,960) pixels. So you're perfectly able to generate encodes at say, 1024x432 (total 442,368) pixels

So maybe encoding to a  anamorphic size doesn't matter all that much anymore with latest hardware players/ computers? The media tank I use seems to be able to handle the high resolutions that he talks about, so I wouldn't need a anamorphic encoding....

And for god's sake, use some punctuation on your sentences!

And take some of the punctuation OUT of your username, while you're at it!

I see.  So who has a version that is as close to the Original Movies that I saw in 1977, with the best quality?

I am talking the Original, no Special Editions of any kind.  I don't even like Star Wars with C3PO's explanation of the tractor beam deactivation.  I love the almost silent computer files sorting in front of the characters.  Very nice.

I don't mind grain but I do want anamorphic.

Any advice?

What you want does not exist anywhere. Sorry.

I like it DJ, but can you do anything about the purple light saber?  The blue looks really blown out to me....anybody else see that?

But I like yoda and luke, they look real good.

PS  Anybody else see the red halo around Darth's saber?  Maybe all the colors are really blown up and might need to be turned downed?

I actually feel a little bad for my comments in this thread, I'm actually happy that you finally working on a way of sharing the work that went in to this project, Zion.

Same here. Although there was a time when I was completely taken in by this project...which is why I became so disappointed by its cancellation.

Sad thinking about Laserman though, puts everything we do here into proper perspective...

that is why it is a very nice thing g-force did by posting his scripts on the first page of his thread, if people are dead set against it, there is always the option to do it yourself, but like I said, I am not final yet, but getting close.

yeah after you went and synced up all the audio.....

Not following you, what are you getting at with that statement?

(note to self, I must put happy faces in cryptic posts)

What I meant to say was that you've done all the hard work....after all the work YOU''VE done to sync up all the various sound tracks to the GOUT, its going to be realitivly easy for someone to make their own verions...

We owe you a huge debt my friend. Who in the Hell would have the time or patience to sync up, what was it, 12 or so different tracks spanning the 3 films? Dam that was a crap load of work and you did it. Thank you.

By combining G-Force's script with your synced up tracks we've all got it made.....
