This good luck couldn't of happened to a better person. Congrats Adywan.
I hope your father can get over his pneumonia very quickly.

Just in case my menu partner falls through, does ANYONE here have any experience at all in BD menu creation?
Also, would anyone be interested in making up a Blu-ray cover set for this set, I have ideas but do not have the experience to make these myself, I wish I did.
Thanks
I can just imagine how extensive and difficult it would be to make even simple BD menu's. Whoever is helping you with these is probably just trying to do a good job but because of that it is taking a while? Is that what is going on?
I really don't know what is going on now, it has been a while since an update, I REALLY hope this guy comes through though, I have already seen samples, and they look fucking great!, He really knows hhis shit!, but I just need to have a fall back just in case, the thing is though, it is just not waiting for the Menu files only, once I have them, then I have to be able to figure out this software and replace dummy files with my real ones and author it out, I have the software up and running, but it is confusing as hell, but like anything when learning, once I get it once, I should be good to go, but I am all done on my end.
*edit - GREAT news! I just heard from my BD menu partner, no problem at all, just has some real life stuff going on, so he is doing just fine, have some stuff to start testing now.
Ah pretty cool. Im glad to hear the good news.

Seriously, this project is months (or years) away. Why is everybody getting their panties in a bunch?
I agree that it's not worth continuing the discussion now. But I just see rational discussion here, not any panty bunching.
Except for vbangle, of course.
Reported.
Why is " I don't have ______ " a valid excuse to deny the rest of us the very best and the pinnacle of video formats? Does it make any sense for Adywan to spend years on this edit and not do a Blu-Ray? His prerogative of course but it would be strange. It seems the same whiners about not having a Blu-Ray burner are the same that always whine about not wanting to pay for or learn how to use Usenet. Lamers.
I vote for Blu-Ray.
Color looks perfect and the snow speeders instrument clusters look cool.
Thank you for all your time spent Adywan.
Darth Stewie,
Do you like the Star Wars Prequels?

I've been following this endeavor casually for a while now, but just got around to downloading the sample. Fired it up on my 50" panny plasma, and WOW! Very impressive. I definitely appreciate all the effort being put into this and can't wait to get my hands on it.
Pardon me if this has been discussed, but what about bittorrent for sharing the files?
Bittorrent would take some time to ramp up...3 or 4 of us would have to have the file to begin with and then all of us seeding....but remember we're talking 23 gb here, thats a huge torrent and would die really quick.
My upstream is a little over 1 Mb/s so it would take what 3 or 4 days and nights for me to upload to a.b.sw but if Dark_Jedi wanted me to I'd do it.
Neg_1,
What ever you do, just capture whats there and let people like Adywan do the color correction.
You're a magician Adywan, and a artist as well.
Looking good.
How are patients who have been vaccinated in danger from patients who haven't been vaccinated? That doesn't make any sense.
Having been vaccinated you are immune to the diesase. Duh.
People need to pull their head out of their ass once in a while and think.

Jambe, less than a month ago maybe more, I emailed you on youtube asking when this would be finished and at the time you said "Star Wars Begins will be completed in a few months." Well to my surprise, I see Adywan say on Twitter that it is done. Wow, most of the time projects like these take longer than what they estimate. So why did it cost so much to get your hard drive recovered? Didn't you back it up?
Did you eat paint chips when you were little?
Maybe add black bars in photoshop to each image to fill in the added space to make the correct aspect ratio?
Then at least the menu wouldn't appear all stretched out on screen...I think...

Sorry to backtrack to this topic again Ady, but it's just that I think your version of the holo scene (received for a donation) was damn near perfect.
This latest version has his right eye so dark it seems like he's got a black eye, and that smile (in my opinion) doesn't belong there.
As always, it's your edit, but I just wanted to clarify that I never complained about your first edit of this epic scene.
So you're just complaining about his finished version instead? Nice.
He's not complaining, he's voicing his opinion and comunicating with Adywan.
Get off your high horse.
Yeah quit posting in this thread. It's annoying.

So NO ONE here knows how to encode a lossless avi using x264 LOL?
I've PM'ed Adywan, I bet you he knows exactly how to do it. Maybe if he can, he'll come in here and point you in the right direction....

Well, yeah, that's the thing though, I for one am trying to fit it on a disc, so, the bitrate and the size aren't really the variable quantity here, it's the resulting video quality, because ideally, the final mkv file will be 4.37 GB (or maybe 2.18 to fit 2 films on a DVD5 or 2.6 to fit 3 films on one DVD9 but the file size should always be fixed) and if the resolution is higher, you'll get more compression artefacts at the same file size.
But I totally see your point, it's just that I don't take x264 mkv as a way to not need discs, it's a way to have better quality on the disc of the same size.
Don't take this bad but I think most people who watch x264 mkv files stream them from their computer or media tank and store them on a big ass hard drive or even a hard drive stack.... burning mkv to disc just isn't that common...at least from what I've seen...
Try looking at the multitude of mkv releases of movies on usenet, and while they are encodes of BD the releases are not concerned about final output size as far as trying to fit to a dvd9. UNLESS you are talking about AVCHD releases. AVCHD are meant to fit to a DVD9.
