It'll be interesting to see if Kylo is seen without the mask at some point in the film.  Maybe the rumor is true about Driver being the offspring of Han and Leia.  Also, keep in mind there was a photo of Driver walking around wearing a Rebel... err... Resistance pilot outfit.

That photo was probably taken from 100 yards away with a cell phone. It was his general build, but might not have been him.

That could be... but it sure looks like him...

Just found this posted online.

Chewie looks fine in that shot.

On the VF website they are going to be posting more photos and video interviews on May 4th and , if you sign up to their newsletter, they will send you the photograph to your inbox

Does this looked photoshopped to anyone else?

Does anyone know for sure if the new TFA trailer is being shown in front of The Avengers 2? I'm going to a midnight premier tonight and am curious to see it on the big screen.

I think that was just a rumor, not confirmed.  I'm wondering if they would show a new teaser and the full trailer within a few weeks of each other?  The teaser was released only 2 weeks ago.  I'm guessing they'll just have the newest teaser.

Dunno if this has already been brought up or not, pretty big thread.

The costuming reminds me of medieval Europe (Kylo looks very monk-like, the hilt swings him closer to feudal knight and away from feudal samurai). This makes me think the story draws from post-roman empire history for inspiration of what happened over the last 30 years. The first order may be more of a sith-based religious group, and they are in the middle of their own crusade for sith/jedi artifacts like Luke's lightsaber and Vaders helmet.

Although I do think that is Luke in the trailer looking at his fathers helmet, but that's just a hunch.

I'm not sure if that's the case. The teasers and leaked concept art don't show evidence of this.  I imagine they would have more guys with red lightsabers than stormtroopers.

If it hadn't already been strenuously denied that he'd be involved, I'd swear the music in this trailer is a Michael Giacchino arrangement of the Williams themes. The rising scale is very much his style.

He wasn't involved. Some sources say Williams recorded the music within the last week or so.  It has been confirmed that composer Felix Erskine contributed to the teaser music, but to what extent, we don't know.  It's speculated that all the orchestral material is done by Williams and Erskine simply "beefed" up the music to make it more trailer-like. Erskine is being vague (possibly intentional) as to his contribution.

John Boyega and Daisy Ridley somehow look so OT-Star Wars in this 2nd trailer (Not totally sure I know what I mean by that).

For one, this many hairs being out of place wouldn't have been tolerated on the Prequels. Also Daisy distorting her facial muscles into something that aproximates convincing acting wouldn't have been allowed either ;-)

Point well taken.

To wit:

But darned if 20 year old Natalie Portman wasn't one of the most gorgeous creatures in history...

Not that Daisy Ridley is any slouch either...

How did Padme look during her action sequences?  Was her hair and makeup still perfect?

To be fair, Leia's hair in SW went from messy to clean on occasion.  Sometimes from shot to shot. :-)

Anyone expecting to see a film that looks like it was made in the late 70s/early 80s will be disappointed.  This film is made in 2015, obviously special effects and the exact way things look will be a little different.

From a strict special effects perspective, I think it looks great.  Really excited about this film.

Agreed.

People forget how much more polished ESB was over Star Wars and likewise how ROTJ was more polished than either of the previous two.

Well it is 30 years later; to expect it to have the same unpolished look is an odd thing to me.

Things like this image below are exactly the kind of things many fans imagined in their own further adventures.  Well, Abrams is a fan and it shows.

That's true for the OT.  Interestingly, I don't think that applies to the PT, though.  I think the effects decreased in quality in AOTC, but got better for ROTS.  I still think TPM looks the best out of the PT... effects-wise.

The Empire is now The First Order

The Rebellion is now The Resistance

Seems like brand destruction and a dumb change to me.

So the Rebels are victorious at the battle of Endor and 30 years later they are still the resistance?

How do you defeat an entire galactic empire in one battle? What, all imperial troops abandon their posts and gathered together in the same star system?

Well, the SE makes it seem the Empire was defeated with the celebrations across the galaxy... remember "Wesa Free!"?  It seems to work better with the original ending of the celebration just on Endor.
