Chris

Okay, I did an image search and, I couldn't find a CGI whitehouse. But, CGI is far from perfect. Take this for example:
Would you rather have this CG facehttp://www6.plala.or.jp/Kuonn-CG/data/Face_Make/Face_Make_035.jpg or, a real face?
Would you rather have this CG layout http://www.cg-net.com/eim/silo-error-face.jpg or a real terrain?
Would you rather have this CG maskhttp://www2c.biglobe.ne.jp/~W_Angel/cg/doga/images/01/face-02.gif or, a real mask?

Yes, I took unfinished pictures but, it's to make a point. Just becuase something's CGI doesn't make it perfect. Unless your definition of perfect is perfectly clean/sterile..... Basically, just slapping CGI all over the place doesn't make it perfect.

as i said, all the computer stuff lokks so old, i would even replace some interior inside the death star for example with new cgi.

CGI begins to show it's age a lot faster then real objects. You'll see.

i think a complete remake would be a big mistake, but there should be a lot of updates. thats what i would prefer.

With all the changes you want a complete remake would be a hell of a lot easier. Especially since you want to add lines to Obiwan.

Trooperman:
The Back to the future fly through the sky shot was actually taken from another movie(Ironic, eh?). I checked the commentary and, it's taken from the Clint Eastwood movie Firefox. If that's on DVD mabye that is sans credits. I personally think that it wouldn't work because, it is a flying through the sky shot and, not a look up clouds cover the sun shot. Oh, wait mabye the shot when the sun appears after the rain when the doc is looking up just in reverse. Also, if you liked those pictures I could dig up a ton more for you if you want to use the promo images.

And that's where your wrong. In a documentary on the gospel of Judas they showed that the historians have scanned the pages and, every little piece on photcopied pages and, into a computer 3-D program. The only time that they ever touch the pages is when they think they can fit another piece into it's place. Even then, the pages are kept between two panes of glass and, touched very lighty. Also, before even thinking of getting a page they use the 3-D computer program to make absolutely sure that it fits where they want to put it. So yes in essence they have made a new copy of the book perserving it on the best technology possible at the moment. Plus so that they don't have to deal with the old paper as, much.

the same way if a kid with his mom at the mall whines that he wants icecream for 2 hrs, then finally his mom gives in and they go to the icecream store and they dont have the flavor he wants so he whines more.

That doesn't work as an analogy. The kid doesn't pay for the icecream. More like a Mom that really wants to get a chocolate icecream with sprinkles. The Mom goes to the icecream store finds that they have chocolate but, it's going to cost her 70 dollars to get three scoops and, the store she went to is out of sprinkles. If Lucasfilm went with your scenario (i.e. giving it away) I don't think anyone would be complaining.

Trooperman: If your going to do a trailer classic style. Have you considered using promo images to introduce the characters ala ESB teaser?

Anakin Skywalker
Obiwan Kenobi
Padmé Naberie(err, whatever her last name is)

Just a thought. Also, I don't really mind Jango as, a name but, Marcus is good too. I just thought of Jacob... Oh, and your welcome for the tutorial.

Darkhelmet: I liked your edit of the Palpatine fight. It was kind of wierd though to have the lightning start off screen.

What is the rarest video in your collection?
Time
The rarest video(s) that I have is all but, one episode of G4's Portal on VHS. Basically, before the G4 tech tv merger they had this great show of Portal. Comcast cancelled the show and, chances are so slim of it coming on DVD/re-airing it's practically impossible. The only way that it would see another airing/ it getting on DVD is if some fan won the lotto and, bought the rights. The number of people that have (all or most) the episodes on tape are probably less then 10. Also, as far as, I am aware there is no place to download any full episode... So, yeah, it's pretty rare... I also, have some more rare G4 stuff but, the Portal stuff is my crown jewel. Plus, the current CEO/staff of G4 don't want to hear any "complaints" on anything so, a petition wouldn't work. Infact it's a rule on thier forums now that if you post a thread "complaining(a.k.a. we don't like your post/your suggesting something)" they delete it.

Birds of Prey intro - Mark Hamill's voice for Joker

The Joker only had a few seconds like I said above. So, if you watch the video in the first post and, this music video(It says unaired pilot at the beginning but it's just a music video) that's pretty much all the screen time the Joker had. The Joker had no lines in that scene so no Mark Hamill involvement in there.

ITS HAPPENED-- OOT AVAILABLE FROM LUCASFILM
Time
I read this when it was first announced. Thought I was deluisional(I was tired at the time). I come back here and, I'm glad it wasn't my imagination. I'm happy that it's finally happened. I'm really happy that it's going to have the original crawl for Star Wars. Though, I do think it's interesting that they can't keep the press release the same for more then a day.

I really like the clip Trooperman. I agree that there should be some little bits of the AOTC clone war in there.

Originally posted by: Trooperman
I agree with everyone saying that there should be more Star Wars material in this sequence, because if you think about it, that whole battle in that clip didn't have ANY elements from AOTC at all. I will definitely splice in the shot of Mace charging, and if I can figure out how, I will rotoscope saber and do blaster shots (or at the very least, those white/purple impact flashes typical of SW). The thing is, it's a lot easier to rerotoscope an existing saber than it is to create a new blade.

I found this tutorial on how to make a lightsaber in photoshop.

Short answer:
The story was about Catwoman and, Batman's daughter Helena Kyle.

Longer more detailed answer:
Using some of Batman Returns, the animated series, the 60's tv show and, the earth 2 story for the backstory. The Batman Returns parts they used was pretty much a lot of it. The animated series parts they used was Harley Quinn and, some of the other villians. The 60's show just a variation on the Batgirl costume for flashbacks. The Earth 2 story was the Catwoman and, Batman's Daughter part. My memories really fuzzy on how the early episodes came about. What happened in the early parts of the story is that Batman either got tired of fighting crime in Gotham, he couldn't deal with parenthood, or he found out about some other place that had more crime at the time. So, he left Gotham for a while. Meanwhile, the Joker got arrested(mabye for shooting Barbara) and, was sent to a maximum security prison outside of Gotham. Harley couldn't find out where he got sent to so, she became a phsycologist. Similar to that of Batman Begins Dr. Crane. Barbara Gordon became the oracle. Somehow, Helena Kyle comes into the mix of things I don't remember how. Then, becuase of little Bat presence in New Gotham crime becomes worse. There are a few mentions of the Robin's but, they don't make an appearance on the show at all.

4) Why was it cancelled?

I read somewhere that there was a lot of behind the scenes drama going on. The WB or, DC didn't want more then a few seconds shown of Batman/Joker/Catwoman and, none of Robin didn't help either. The ratings were supposedly average not bad just average. So, one of the owners of the series decided that it was too much trouble to continue the series. So they ended it after 13 episodes.

I still think it's becuase of the horrible miscast for Alfred though. Totally wrong for the part. If they didn't have Alfred in there(or got someone right for the part) it would have been a fantastic show. Though, there was no reason for him to be there at all. [edit]But, I still think it's a good show that got cancelled before it's time.[/edit]

Birds of Prey intro - Mark Hamill's voice for Joker
Time
I found this intro to a long time ago cancelled tv series called "Birds of Prey". It has Mark Hamill doing the voice.

Here's the video

I think that's the only footage of the Joker with Mark Hamill's voice(someone else was standing there though) in the show. The network wouldn't let them show more then a few seconds of Batman/Joker. I watched a trailer somewhere else for the show(I won't post it here. PM me if you want to see it) and, I remember now why it was cancelled. The horrible miscast for Alfred he was the Jar Jar binks of the show. He just didn't fit if he wasn't in the show at all the show wouldn't have gotten cancelled in my oppinion.

Trooperman: On the clone war is that after the ball ship goes down you see the ship with Anakin, Obi, and, Padmé. Then some shots of the battle then a zoom to a stray clone ship out of no where. My suggestion is to have be like this ball ship goes down, zoom on the stray ship(only half of the shot), some shots of the battle, the other half of the zoom shot, then you see Anakin, Obi, and, Padmé. I also, like that Anakin screams. There's also some anamatic stuff in the extra's for the clone war. Mabye if there's a whole bunch of dust(from the ball ship dropping) overlaying the anamatic shots you could use it. Like one shot that has the clones throwing an explosive on some droid thing.

Ben: Luke, I have to tell you about the force.
Luke: What's that?
Ben: The force is like electricity. You can do a lot with it but, if you lose control you'll die.
Luke: Why?
Ben: You'll turn to the Darkside. Like your fa- *clears throat* I mean you'll just feel dead inside is all. So don't do it.
Luke: What do you mean "dead inside"? What kind of talk is that?
Ben: Well, your Father...
Luke(interrupts): You knew my Father?
Ben: Yeah, I was going to tell you something about him but, I lost my train of thought. Anyways, yeah, he was a good pilot. Hell of a fighter to, did flips all over the place.

What If Ian Had Said No To Appearing In Empire Strikes Back?
Time
Jenny and, Richard: Do to differing settings the last page for me is not the last page for you... That's why I typed "at the end" meaning the last post. So, no link to TFN was ever provided by me... Anyways, if you can't find the last post I'll copy and, paste it here:
<ctrl+v>
The thing about the HC image is that it's just an alternate angle of the end of the "farewell old friend" scene. I totally saw this in the theater and, forgot which scene I saw it in. I thought I was seeing what I wanted to see then I just re-figured it out. I mean look at it the actions are almost completely the same! Hayden looks down happy looks to his right then, has a creepy/semi-mad face a moment later. This also disproves the thought that he knew he was being filmed for it<edit>For it to be inserted into Return of the Jedi I mean.</edit>.

So, I don't know where you two got links to TFN from...

Probably if his contract didn't include it. Many people don't read the contracts they sign. So, he might be contractually obligated to do even more Star Wars movies(mabye the reason for the change)pure speculation here.

That was never officially confirmed. Only from a "supposed" interview with Hayden.

Read my post here It's at the end. I figured out which scene in ROTS his image is taken from! Yes, it's from the movie proper just an alternate angle!

but in the video interview, he acts like he did.

here's that AOL interview that you say that he knew. He just says that he "got a real kick out of it".

In regards to Ian saying no. I agree that he would have had a CG face then. Just using the original voice.
