Tanto di cappello, brava davvero! :)
Anche a me piacerebbe poter dire di conoscere cinque lingue.

If you ever need any help, pointers, whatever, feel free to enquire!
Grazie! Però mi conoscere soltanto nozioni di base un gran numero di lingue.

So I wouldn't say that I "know" all of them yet. I'm merely trying to learn them. I only feel confident to say that I know ASL(and English of course). I think of it as being a student of over 20 languages. (Which is the amount of languages I will know soon.) Anyways I might just make a thread about this later if there's further interest.

"Non c'è problema. Inoltre, di recente c'è stato uno show televisivo che ha malamente mostrato l' ASL."

Don't worry about it, you're excused because:
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 12px;">You're not a professional translator (as far as I know)</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12px;">Italian is a pretty difficult language</span></li>
</ol>
Ti ringràzio!
You're correct I'm just trying to learn the language. It's my 5th language. Currently just hammering in vocab. Going to get back to hammering in grammar soon.

It was some kind of comedy sketch. What happened was during an emergency there was an announcement with some official. Some comedy show decided to parody the ASL interpreter standing alongside him during the announcement. Only they apparently didn't use any signs at all. Just random hand movements. I didn't see it but there was quite an uproar in the Deaf community about it.

I just saw it. It's this one, isn't it?
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hUfKmlvgcc</a>" title="www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hUfKmlvgcc">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hUfKmlvgcc</a>" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hUfKmlvgcc">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hUfKmlvgcc</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hUfKmlvgcc"></a>Now, here's something you may not agree with. I think SNL got in trouble not because of the concept, but because they were parodying real people in it, and mostly, I think, this is an issue of political correctness.
Well either way I just felt it was relevant. I suppose it also annoys me since ASL is my second language.

Anyways, um....

Back to Trek - does anybody know the chronological order for all Star Trek TV shows, novels, comic books and movies ?

I know of no such list with the books and extra material included but I do know of an alternative list for the chronological order.

Oh yeah I echo Leonardo's thoughts on translation. I mean there's an episode of Power Rangers where they had ASL presented in the episode and they use the actual signs. I think there's like 1 or 2 mess ups but it's 99% accurate. This episode was in the first season of Power Rangers too... Then again it was made by a bilingual Jewish guy, then Disney shipped production over to New Zealand, then Saban took over again. Now it's a production of New Zealanders, Bilingual guy, Japanese stock footage, and some American talent... Saban might even know more languages than Hebrew and English. So I guess it's just a problem with monolingual Americans then.

As an aside my spell check wants to "correct" "New Zealanders" to "New Salamanders"....

Thing is if they just contacted me on Tumblr to prove that they're the same person I probably would've deleted the tweet no problem. If that's all they wanted. Calling the equivalent of the Twitter police on me tho for merely posting a link to a reblog. It's just a funny overreaction to me.

(update: I saved this as a draft as I needed to take care of something and just got around to posting it now. Anyways their last tweet to me was more demanding. http://twitter.com/EdjouTumblr/status/354574920619016193 So I ended up reporting them for spam. Unbeknownst to me that autoblocks the person. This is the first time I've ever reported spam on twitter so I couldn't have known that. Interesting how that works.)

That said. Watched the TOS episode with Trelane for the first time last Saturday. It was a nice touch that he couldn't recreate the taste of the food. Makes me wonder though if they should've been eating/drinking it in the first place. I also liked how at the beginning of the episode they had oxygen masks and verified the environment safe first. The ending made me think that maybe his parents are the caretakers in Voyager. I know it's not intentional but it seems to fit better to me than making him a Q. Overall really enjoyed that episode. Also the crew getting served drinks at the start made me feel like they were preparing to watch a film on the viewscreen.

Re: Walking Dead
I feel they shot themselves in the foot with the season 3 ending in that it pretty much wraps up the series. Seriously aside from 1 plot point in regards to 1 person everything is wrapped up. It's like how I felt after the 4th episode of the 4th series of Misfits. There's nothing cliffhanger-esque enough for me to feel like I would have to watch the next episode. While I wasn't a big fan of the season 2 or 3 of Walking Dead I was at least curious enough about it that I watched it. I feel absolutely no desire to continue watching Walking Dead unless there's praise for the new episodes. Similarly I don't feel much of a desire to watch past the episodes I have in Misfits unless I read that the programme's finale is really awesome.

All in all even if the following episodes of Walking Dead get nielsen ratings, unless they really step up the quality, I wouldn't doubt people thinking they should've just stopped after season 3. Well those that don't already think the series was screwed since the start of season 2.

Random Thoughts

I am now at that stage where I've not slept for two days. Mwhaha! My random thoughts shall flow!!!!!!!!!

Eating the dry ice cream while sitting on the asteroid pod man station. Witness the blanket turvy whirlwind of sworded golf balls! They head to the intersand cave with all the doorknob metals in the graphite deposits!!! They manage to gather the metals in their blankets and create the ultimate door unlockers!!!!!!! They take everyone's pies! That's their goal. They end up giving the pies as sacrifice to the dragon king of flowers! He accepts and gives the gathered sacrifices to the Queen of the kingdom. The Queen of the kingdom allows the dragon to keep his position. And the squire makes the shoes.

Funniest thing about all this is that since his entire twitter consists of asking others to delete stuff he's gonna have to verify who he is anyway. Then he's gonna have to verify that he has the rights over that stuff. All in all, he joined the wrong site if it's really him and he doesn't want anyone sharing his stuff.(Edit: Meant to say "his edits" 'cause that's what it is.)

Though I thank him for giving me something to laugh at. http://i.imgur.com/UK732.gif Even if it's unintentional.

So this random person on twitter is trying to get me to delete a tweet claiming it's "reposting" when all it is, is a link to a reblog on tumblr. He also claims it's his even though he refuses to contact me on tumblr. He's also trying to get twitter support involved. All this over a Star Trek image. This one. I just find this entire thing hilarious.

Here's links to the tweets and you can see what's going on.

That's it just simply asking for him to confirm who he is to me is suddenly "refusing to delete" something.

They probably would be there for fanservice reasons.
If they're only there for fanservice I won't even bother to watch it. I don't mind them possibly not being the main characters but fanservice implies quick cameos or awkward shoving of characters into the plot. I'm completely tired of that. The very least they all need to be important to the plot.

I may go through a list on memory alpha for the Jeffrey Combs episodes to make sure I've seen all of those but other then that I don't feel a strong desire to see all of Enterprise.

Spoiler alert - He's in the finale.

Seen the finale already so no worries.
Okay this'll be simpler I'll just create a rough list of episodes I can't recall having seen. Going mainly off episode title so I may have actually seen that episode but not remembered the title to go along with it. Still this will be short.

Season 1
Desert Crossing
Two Days Two Nights
Shockwave

Season 2
Shockwave II
The Seventh
The Communicator
The Crossing
Judgment

Season 3
I think I watched all of this. Might be wrong but nothing sticks out as definitely not seen.

Season 4
You know what looking at the list for Season 4 I think I've not seen the majority of it. Maybe I have and just not bothered to remember which Episode title correlates with each episode. Aside from Observer Effect, the Mirror Universe episodes, Terra Prime and the finale I don't think I've seen most of this season. I'm almost certain I've watched more of it but just haven't remembered the episode title for it.

So yeah there's my list.

Interestingly enough I've seen all of Voyager, Deep Space Nine, and The Next Generation. Yet TOS I've yet to complete watching. I guess I feel like once I've done that. That's it. No more Star Trek series for me to watch with completely fresh eyes sort of speak.

What about Enterprise?

I simply don't like Enterprise enough to want to watch the entire thing. I'm pretty confident that I've likely seen the best of Enterprise already anyway.

What have you seen?

SilverWook said:

You have to at least check out the Andorian episodes. Jeffrey Combs as Shran was as memorable as his DS9 character.

The Mirror Universe two parter is also a must see.

I've seen the majority of Enterprise actually including the Mirror Universe episodes. Now that you mention it I may go through a list on memory alpha for the Jeffrey Combs episodes to make sure I've seen all of those but other then that I don't feel a strong desire to see all of Enterprise. I mainly gave a lot of Enterprise a shot because it was new Star Trek and Scott Bakula. It's no longer new Star Trek and Scott Bakula was in Chuck. So if I need a non-Quantum Leap Scott Bakula fix I can watch Chuck. ... (Must resist urge to turn this thread into another Chuck thread....)

Anyway currently going through DS9 again 'cause DS9. It's just an episode here and there since I got other shows I want to watch right now too.

I just discovered something curious on Twitter. On George Lucas's official twitter page he has posted a link to a short film (roughly 5 mins long) called 'The Game' and has said that if it gets 100 views or retweets, he may divulge some info about Episode VII.
His Twitter page... wow. :-/

http://i.imgur.com/c7eYYAT.jpg
Or at least it's a suspicious account. It's non verified, not followed by the verified Star Wars twitter account, and his entire account is basically thanks and links to YT vids. Unless twitter has some kind of glitch where it's simply not showing that the Star Wars account is following the possible George Lucas account I wouldn't take anything on that account seriously. Anyone could be posting on that account.

This Jeanette Vogelpohl seems to still live at the same address, could be in her 60s.  She's got a son, Scott in his 30s, who could be this individual: https://www.facebook.com/nleseul  If anyone uses that website and could send a polite letter, feel free.
And I thought looking up old girlfriends was creepy and weird. ;)
