General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

Does knowing about the "unknown regions" make them known unknown regions? Or does the knowing about the unknown region negate the unknown factor making them known again? Or is there a complete knowingness of the unknown regions that makes it possible for the unknown regions to remain unknown? Or does simply making them "unknown" regions make them regions of indescribable thought? Or does "making them" unknown regions imply a level of "knowing" about the region in question? So does that in effect negate the "unknown" factor? Or does making a conscious thought to make them "unknown" essentially mean that you're making the decision to block yourself from that information? But then just knowing that the region is there in the first place kind of makes it so that you know about the unknown regions. So does that negate the title? Or does the simple desire to know more about the unknown regions give weight to the "unknown" title?

Was on the news here this morning. Nut job.

Two of them. His girlfriend claims to be Mary Magdalene. Anyways I'd just ask this couple to speak either Latin, Greek, or Hebrew. Either that or try to strike up a convo in Latin. I don't know much Latin but it'd at least be enough to either get them to realize they need to wake up and see a shrink. Or it would possibly reveal them as scam artists.

Really? I thought the doctor was poorly done.
Well in the pilot of Defiance I thought the doctor was a pretty good character. Lately though it seems like they've sidelined the character into just being in the show as little as possible. So I agree with you now.

Last show I watched was Royal Pains. I'm not a big fan of this show but it's something that my Mom really likes so I was watching it with her. I don't think it's bad or anything. It's just an okay show to me.

Last web series I watched was the latest Who reviews the reviewers round because I missed it live. It always feels kind of meta whenever I think about commenting on this. It's like I'm commenting on a group of people that have gathered to review the creation of reviews from other people that are reviewing various products often video based. That and sometimes Gaffer Tape's dog attacks... Oh yeah and Gaffer Tape stops in time.

the origin of yoda's name

The name may also be connected to the Hebrew ???(Pronounced: "Yodea"), meaning "He knows" or "One who knows".

Well if you want to bring Hebrew into it the female or feminine version of the word "knowing" is pronounced "Yoda'at". The hebrew word for "She" is pronounced like "He". So if you wanted to say that "she knows" you'd say "He Yoda'at". So I suppose it is possible that if you're speaking fast it could sound like "Yoda".

If you want to be really confused read on. In Hebrew who is he, me is who, and he is she. So "Who Yodea" and "He Yoda'at". Never "He Yodea" or "Who Yoda'at". But "Me zah Yoda?" Is okay if you're asking "Who's Yoda?" and "Who Yoda" would an appropriate response to "Me zah Yoda?".

Also I would use the Hebrew characters here to make things a little more clear but I don't think they work on this forum.

Jedi Pikachu does he evolve into Sith Pikachu?????

Sith Pikachu would merely need to be a state of mind change for Jedi Pikachu to become. Either that or the temptation of cookies. http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/9097/yhmin.gif

So.... I've not been posting much due to the fact that I got a cold. Ironically before that I was gearing up to do some productive stuff and read lots of books and set up a plan and stuff. Plan went to hell. Was all motivated to learn 20+ languages set everything up for what I would have to do to get that info in my head. It would've worked if not for that.... Also feeling nauseous today probably because of something I ate... Well at least that's better then constant coughing.

Interestingly enough I've seen all of Voyager, Deep Space Nine, and The Next Generation. Yet TOS I've yet to complete watching. I guess I feel like once I've done that. That's it. No more Star Trek series for me to watch with completely fresh eyes sort of speak.
What about Enterprise?
I simply don't like Enterprise enough to want to watch the entire thing. I'm pretty confident that I've likely seen the best of Enterprise already anyway.

Been watching City Hunter. Really enjoying it so far. Also going to get back into watching Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits really soon.

Checked out the first episode of Defiance. It's not bad but it feels like a mashup of Babylon 5 / Battlestar Galactica / Warhammer 40k.

Hopefully it will get better / more interesting / more original..

The effects are kinda hit and miss too, sometimes impressive, sometimes rather cheap looking.

I like Defiance so far. They need more scenes with the Doctor tho.

Also, I've recently been on a foreign language thriller kick:

Timecrimes (Spanish, 2007)
Them (French, 2006)
Hell (German/Swiss, 2011)
Kind of makes a sentence.
Timecrimes them to Hell!

Anyways watched the Fantastic Four extended edition. The first time I've watched the extended edition. There's some bits added that I liked. In particular everything with Alicia. Overall the movie isn't that much improved by the added bits but it's an interesting watch.
