So... I had this plan going, I was going to read over 300 pages a day. I was going to generate at least 200 sentences in the various languages I want to learn. Plan went to trash when I ended up getting exhausted. So today I'm going to put together a more efficient plan to get all the languages I want into my head.

As an aside I looked more into Elvish... There's three dialects of it. I don't know if I want to learn all three of them or not.

So,.... I've not been posting here the past few days.... Simply put, I tried a new schedule plan thingy. Left me exhausted. So I took a day or so to just sleep during some time that I otherwise would've been here posting... Anyways, got another plan going. Not going to fall into the same trap. It's better, improved, and with new plan shininess!

I watched the season finale of Switched at Birth last night. It was a fine season finale but I'm wondering how they're going to handle the changed dynamics next season in Jan. I don't doubt them in terms of quality, I just want to see it, like now not next year. There's some really good writing on this show. Like there was a reasonably questionable thing that a character did and a character told them off about it. When there was so much going on in the episode already and it wouldn't have been unrealistic for that to go uncontested with the truth kept secret. Want, more, now.

So recently I've gotten sick. Consequently I don't feel too much like talking so it makes my quest harder. When I say some of the words aloud it seems to stick better than just repeating it in my head. So yeah at the moment it's more difficult. What also makes my quest harder is that whatever deal Google books had to display a lot of the language books I was using expired. There's still plenty of books there but some of them are no longer available for free viewing. Lesson learned now I'm focusing on downloading what I can from there and then sorting out which ones to use afterwards. It sucks because I was going to put a plan into action to accelerate my language learning. Now I have to refocus on acquiring resources again. But whatever the quest simply got harder is all. That's okay.

I would recommend those films if I could vouch for the validity of their respective subtitles. I wouldn't recommend "Johnny Stecchino" at all, though, it contains mostly sicilian, and wouldn't be of much help to you in learning italian.

I'll be going over the movies I know and see what I can recommend. It's all down to the availability of decent subtitles. Most I've seen are sketchy and sometimes inaccurate.

Tì ringràzio! So I was thinking about what to PM you but I felt my question would benefit others here too. Do you know of any interesting Italian shows or movies I may not be aware of?

Ehhh.... Tv in Italy is comprised of 85-90% American (or British) shows dubbed in italian. What's produced locally is utter crap IMHO. Movies might be a good bet,

Historians were able to understand the hieroglyphs because they had the Greek text as a reference. Now, I think this is a good method to learn another language: use something you already know, say like the Bible, as a reference to understand it.

So recently I went on a DBD marathon. It's part of my catch-up-of-things-I've-been-meaning-to-watch. I also decided to use it to help with my reading of Japanese characters. It actually helped my expand my knowledge of it. Such as repeatedly seeing the characters "Wa" and "shi" without the "ta". So I ended up looking that up and found through Google translate that it can mean "Eagle" but that didn't make much sense given the context. I then learned through jisho that's it's another informal "I" also Japanese paper. I also liked how some kanji I instantly knew what it was without needing to look at the furigana. Like "koroshiya" for assassin.

All in all I really enjoy your analysis of things.

I've got to watch your "DBD: The Legend of Shenlong", then WRTR S3 Finale, then Inside Jaws, and then Spawn Year catch up marathon. For one reason or another I've been putting watching these off. So yeah. Gonna get caught up on it all. :D
