Maybe something is a little bit goofy about the end credits. I skipped to them, for entirely selfish reasons, and the video (in VLC) started playing at 2x or 4x or something. It seemed locked at first, but then it did allow me to skip backwards.

I think there have been bugs in the post-credits for Harmy before due to the audio tracks not extending this far. It might just make the muxing kind of wonky, but it’s definitely no problem if the main video plays fine.

Well, I guess this is up next! It’s crazy that it has been almost exactly 5 years since the fully despecialized range was first announced in the first post of this thread.

Just wanted to say that I hope the color timing is generally the same as 2.0. It’s bright and dynamic and doesn’t go too far in any direction.

He usually exports in multiple formats. Even if he didn’t, someone could always render at 720p if you have an aversion to 1080p for some reason.

I don’t know if there is a consensus on favorites, but l8wrtr’s is indeed probably the best well known complete trilogy of very high quality. Around this forum in the last year or two, I would definitely say Hal’s have the most momentum and are preferred by many.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one isn’t as easy to find on public trackers. A bit more niche interest and the public isn’t exactly known for seeding. 😃

I was browsing through the final mkv, checking out all the great 35mm footage. And I came across 1:52:51 and thought ‘oh geez, was there a recomp here and really only subpar footage available?’

But no, it’s just really bad BD footage! It really looks like a bootleg cam recording from a cinema, and has always looked like that (well, since the GOUT at least). 😃

On spleen there is now DTS audio with a sample 97SE synched video (low quality). So I think it’s a matter of having time to put it all together. Especially for Jedi, as some rotoscoping will be needed.

Previously, he used DJ’s sync for ANH, so it was a matter of waiting for the other two films to be done by someone. But now there’s the synchronization on myspleen, so no need to rely on another source or the attitude associated with said source.

Really though, 2.5 has damn near everything fixed. There’s one really cool improvement from the BD that’s not even specialization related. So fixing the sub’s was a given. 😃
