Original line?
Time
So I just got done watching a THX promo from Lucasfilm put together in 1990 that had the line "You were lucky to get out of there" from Empire in the isolated production audio track. I would assume that this is the original line from Empire, and "You're lucky you don't taste very good" was added for either the theatrical or video release.

I never knew this and always thought "You're lucky you don't taste very good" was the original line.

Why the fans complain...
Time
Sure some of us complain that Lucas is raping our childhood...how dare he.

Others bitch about preserving film for future generations.

Even more grip about the changes being silly, or that Lucas has lost his vision.

Regarding the Original Trilogy, I think most people would accept the changes without complaint if all the flaws were fixed. Such a large amount of time an expense has been put into these new releases that it doesn't really make sense to have the small problems remain. If you are going to redo things like Mos Eisley or the X-Wings, why not fix the lightsaber in the Falcon? If you are going to add dialogue, why not adjust the scene where Vader voicelessly motions to Tarkin? If you are going to put Jabba in, do it right. If you are going to remix the sound, do it well. If you are going to fix the tractor beam display, change the numbers on the countdown to Yavin display. If you fix the reverse image at the end of Empire, fix the reverse images in the Yavin control room with Threepio. If you are going to improve the lightsabers, at least make them look the same from shot to shot. If you want to add the Emprorer, make him look like the Emporer.

Above all we want these films to fit together...all six of them. Change what you will, but be consistent...it won't take that much more.

With respect to the Prequel Trilogy, perhaps George hasn't lost his vision. Both trilogies make fun of body noises, (burping in the 80's is what farting is today). Directorally speaking, George is the same director he was in Star Wars, THX, and AG. He isn't so revolutionary becaue everyone has copied his style that HIS style isn't original or new anymore. Its almost thirty years since the revolution. The revolutionaries are normal now. That IS the standard. His vision is reality, and serves to inspire the new generation of filmmakers such as Larry and Andy and PJ. Don't you think?

I think I speak for all the fans when I say we desire consistency.

Actually I'm not thrilled with that torrent of covers. The work is good, covers are great. Its just there are so many with very little differences between them, adding (what will eventually turn out to be 60-70 Covers, not to mention disc art and inserts) would make that torrent even more a pain in the ass to sift through.

I may torrent my art only when I'm done...that's a possibility.

Star Wars DVD Covers

Okay kiddos....I'm finally done re-tweaking my original TR47 Single Disc covers. I have a crap load of covers that need hosting. There are 2 Poster versions for each film (Same front, Different Back) and 8 Faces versions for each film (2 Different Fronts, 2 Backs, and 3 Different Spines). Here are three simple contact sheets. There are 12 Covers you don't see, and those are faces with different spines. (One set has the colored front and gold spine; one set has colored front and spine).

Here they be:
POSTERS SET
FACES GOLD
FACES COLORED - FACE ON SPINE

Next up for me is a rework of the inserts and disc art for these sets. Then on to the dual disc (feature and bonus) for each film and bonus art.
