I've been wondering the same thing. In the ROTS, wasn't his work to eliminate all the Jedi and to become the most powerful? Maybe Kylo doesn't want not even one Jedi (Luke) around. Kylo does seem pretty powerful so I'm curious to know where he learned all this. Self taught dark lord?
Well, there is the whole thing about Kylo having a master (who is not Sith either) named Snoke
Also, why didn't Luke train Leia to become a Jedi since she is technically a Skywalker? Maybe she refused and decided it was better to become a General.
This is one of the big mysteries of the film. Why is Luke in seclusion? Why hasn't he trained anyone?
I think green might be more Resistance than Luke themed, but otherwise I think those are pretty solid guesses. Maybe switch the Kylo & FO colors.
Maybe she's not crying over a dead body.
I'd rather have it migrated before the movie, so that there's no interruption in our post-release discussion
This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If Slave 1 is in the air, it can be at any angle to the ground, right?

- There's a girl who thinks she's no one, but clearly dreams of getting off her backwater world... and then does and has adventures
- There's a disillusioned stormtrooper who, in seeking something to believe in, ends up with familiar heroes and a lightsaber, having adventures
- There's a bad guy who wants to carry on the legacy of Darth Vader
- Han is a very different man from the cynical, skeptical smuggler hired by an old man and a farmboy years ago
Sure sounds like two protagonists, a villain, and familiar supporting cast!

A trailer should give you a heads up heading into the film about what you are going to see:
1. Who is the protagonist / who are the protagonists?
2. What is the protagonist(s) goal?
3. What villains or obstacles might stand in their way?
For instance, I have seen that new Mars trailer with Matt Damon several times this season. I haven't seen the film, but I know that if I do see it, I will be watching a movie with Matt Damon's character being the main character, and he will be stuck on Mars and people will be trying to rescue him. Whatever else happens in the film, I have no idea, and I have no idea whether he will live or die or whatever larger point there might be to all of it, so it's a nice mix of setting up the audience but not giving away too much.
This Star Wars Trailer on the other hand tells me:
Explosions! Storm Troopers! Lightsabers! Jedi! Harrison Ford is back!
It's Star Wars!
You see how underwhelming that looks to anyone who isn't drunk on kool-aid?
This is funny, given that people who read The Martian before seeing the trailer thought it was a horribly spoiler-filled trailer that would ruin the film for any newcomers to the story.

In this shot from the trailer it looks like the ground is opening up. And on the poster we see a Death Star type of super-weapon that looks like a snowy planet with a slit/crevice in the middle.

Maybe he expected Star Wars to remain frozen in time, and the sequels to emulate late 70s / early 80s blockbusters.
