Everything you need to know going into this one is established in Trek '09. IMO, if you can’t stomach watching that film, you shouldn’t bother with Beyond.

Oh and they blew up the Enterprise at the end of STID. I almost forgot about that.

Also, killing off Chewie.

The funny thing is that the previous 2 movies were just action and nothing else, but the best parts of the third movie are scenes were people are just talking to another, which are usually the most boring parts of movies. And the only thing (except the points written above) I would recommend to do is checking online which actor plays which character

I mean, once you’re watching it, it’s pretty clear, isn’t it? There’s a black woman, a Russian guy, a Scottish guy, an Asian guy, a Vulcan, a grumpy guy and the Captain.

Also, the planet Vulcan was destroyed in the first film, making Vulcans a rare race, the remnants of which are trying to restart their species on a New Vulcan colony. Oh, and Spock and Uhura have been dating.

They’re not super important, but there are things that won’t make sense if you don’t know them.

Surely the arrival of some portion of the Imperial Navy was imminent.

I had a dream the other night that I was in a museum where you could watch any of the Star Wars films, but they had accidentally uploaded the original 1977 version of Star Wars into the system.

Except this version included a previously unknown deleted scene in which, high on a scrubby green hill, Grand Moff Tarkin, Obi-wan Kenobi and a third character debated Luke’s fate. The third character resembled a muppet-style talking hay bale, dressed in a brown robe, and was named Kale. The argument got pretty heated, and it ended with Obi-wan leaping into the air to deliver a kick to Kale’s face.

Now if that doesn’t count as General Star Wars Random Thoughts…

I was very surprised at how good the story in X-Wing: Alliance was. Even better, you can buy it from GOG or Steam, and then upgrade the graphics with the shockingly long-lived XWA Upgrade Project.

I see you’ve already got The Han Solo Adventures, so I will go ahead and recommend the The Lando Calrissian Adventures, as long as you don’t mind really weird things. My favorite part is when Lando is transformed into a giant inside a subterranean pyramid.
