The slow car chase was hilarious though; between episode 1 and 3 of this and his Mando episode, Rodriguez does seem to struggle with action scenes.

The crazy part about this, to me, is that supposedly he’s an action movie director! However, I have not seen his films, other than Spy Kids.

I wonder if the original actors are still around. Can you imagine being cut from the first Star Wars movie. I think it would be nice if they at least got cameos somewhere in Star Wars, even of they’re just sitting at a bar or something.

Koo Stark and Anthony Forrest are indeed both still around

I think the differences in the Tusken camp & costumes from AOTC are pretty easily explainable: Different tribe, different customs

I got the impression that the Tuskens had the kid take Boba & the Rodian out into the desert specifically to show them the swoopgang problem in their area.

The Empire Strikes Back - a general Random Thoughts thread
Time

This could almost fit into the small details thread, but I don’t think it’s particularly obscure.

I wonder why they (Kershner?) decided it was so important to make sure Lando demonstrated proper safety protocols by wearing a safety harness & clipping in when getting onto the Falcon’s roof and grabbing Luke under Cloud City. It’s also such a shame any shots of Lando actually on the roof of the Falcon grabbing Luke were cut.

The Book Of Boba Fett (live action series) - a general discussion thread - * SPOILERS *
Time

I figure the timeline is as follows

 • Fett is eaten by the Almighty Sarlaac
 • Within a few weeks or even days, Fett kills and, or at least escapes the Almighty Sarlaac. He is badly injured, unconscious, dying on the sands from the deed.
 • Jawas come for any useful scrap from the sail barge wreckage. They also strip the immobile and barely conscious Fett.
 • Sandpeople find Fett and bring him home, caring for him until he recovers
 • Recovery takes awhile

Return Of The Jedi’s ‘Black Friday’ - 22nd November, 1982...
Time

The Star Wars At A Glance posts are particularly intriguing/illuminating here (specifically the end of the Y-Wing post, the B-Wing post, and “Unsung Heroes of the Battle of Endor”). You have to wonder if the elimination of Vivienne Chandler from the film is a result of Black Friday (and not having enough time to re-do all the effects for her role), or maybe her performance wasn’t that good (see also: Dermot Crowley’s reduced role as Crix Madine), or if the Battle was just way too long and bloated. Unfortunately, it’s probably impossible to discern the truth as it may be a mixture of the effects & bloat (like why they cut Jerjerrod’s moral dilemma).

Sign me right up for this timeline.

Star Wars 5: Jar Jar’s Great Adventure
Star Wars 6: The Creeping Fear

Also, why do I get the uneasy sense that these titles are connected to each other. The “creeping fear” being that Jar Jar is really the mastermind behind all this.

In case it wasn’t clear, I made up essentially none of those titles

Prequel Special Editions
Time

I would love this. I was disappointed (though understanding) when Ady cancelled his Prequels:Revisited plans, and similarly when Aalenfae’s prequel edits fell apart due to computer failure, which were something like what you’re envisioning. I think it’s been talked about before around here as well, particularly as regards using alternate takes of scenes, in the faint hope that alternate takes might suck less; I have my doubts.

Of course, it’ll never happen.

as well as seeing the Rebel Alliance slowly start to form.

I know I have a tendency to insufferably bang on about the series sometimes, but surely we already have Star Wars Rebels for this? It’s not quite the comprehensive guide as it focuses on one cell - Phoenix Squadron - through to the Alliance’s formation, leaving room for other stories, but at the same time I’d guess Andor won’t try to focus so much on the same aspect.

There’s some amount of market fragmentation (or whatever the right term is) to consider here. My wife has never watched an animated Star Wars show, but we’ll almost certainly watch this.

Wait until you see what’s coming. It’s going to blow your mind. That’s all I can say. I can talk it up all I want, because I know it over-delivers. It way over-delivers. People are going to be so pumped when they see it.

This may be true, but surely this is also how he talks about every project?
