Sadly, I doubt there's a good way to recolor every jedi robe to black. I'm not very knowledgeable about such things, but I doubt it.

Point taken, particularly about the movement. I don't mind a little PT in my OT if we're trying to tie them together as a saga (as both Ady and Lucas are doing, really), but point taken.
I feel like "shoving" is a bit of an overstatement. I, for one, rather liked the addition of the battle droid head in the Jawa's crawler in Revisited.

Those suggestions were good, other than the pan/zoom on the exterior shot. It doesn't add "interest", but it does looks fake.

Great movies are great movies, despite their ratings- not because of them.
But a great movie can be made worse by cutting out certain parts in order to achieve a lower and more marketable rating.
I think it's mostly the Gungans that stand out as being truly awful.
That's not even the ceiling, that's some closer, overhanging thing. A walkway or something, perhaps? Note how the metal pole on the left is cut off, because that thing is in front of it. It's just that its corner and the corner of the room happen to line up.
I mean... it is higher bandwidth/lower compression. Anyone want to explain why that's not true?

The newer one is slightly better, but the illumination is pretty crazy. Why are there light sources on either side?

Well, it's always looked terrible.
It's almost as if Lucas is ashamed of the early 80's optical effects that don't gel with the look of the prequels, so he's just slathering it in bad photoshop.

I'm very skeptical of the idea that any boycott will send a meaningful message to Lucas, as the number of people who will buy the blurays is just too big.
I suggest a new strategy: Rather than focusing on "Don't buy the Blu-Rays because the changes suck", focus on "Wait to buy the eventual Original, unchanged release".
