And about SSB characters, what's holding them back from making all of them? It's not like there's a shortage of room, and it would only make the game cooler. Are they entitled to include characters from other companies? Because Master Chief is Microsoft isn't he?

Master Chief's in Dead or Alive 4 anyway, isn't he? Oh, actually it's some chick, but she's wearing the same suit...

the SONY press conference.

From all reports, it seems that Nintendo really cleaned up at E3, and apparently Sony was a bit of a disappointment. The 360's second-tier lineup is meant to be pretty impressive as well, which probably not helping Sony any. I can see them getting by on brand name even this time around, though - all they had to do was change the '2' to a '3' really.

[rant]I mean, I think about how many ridiculous mistakes Sony made in this generation and they still 'won' as far as I'm concerned. Come on, the machine was as ugly as sin (looked like it was slapped together at the last minute), only two controller ports (four should have been an industry standard from N64 onwards), 3 launch games that were incredibly crap (when will we finally experience an organised, strong launch?), and don't even get me started on the controller itself. No improvements whatsoever over the original Dual Shock as far as I'm concerned - a d-pad that still sucks - four buttons on the front with four shoulder triggers?! Take two off the shoulders and put them on the front dammit so that I can play Street Fighter again! I swear, every console company should commission Sega to design their controllers, especially their d-pads (there hasn't been a good one since the Saturn). So yeah, I considered the PS2 to be a big step back in gaming and somehow, they still managed to sell more than everyone else. [/rant]

I am looking forward to Superman though.

Elektra was a truly horrible movie, I had to turn it off within the first ten minutes of watching it.

They should have based both DD and Elektra on the work of Frank Miller. If they remained true to source material like that, I can't imagine anything going wrong.

That's why you ban all automatic and semi-automatic weapons and make it illegal to own a firearm without a gun license. That's what we do in Australia, and it works. Checkout our track record, I'm sure you can find it somewhere.

Hey hey, people. Week one of 52 comes out today...

Anybody else gonna pic it up?

Tell me what you think of it - I'm not sure if I'm gonna get it or not...

In other news, I've been chewing through comics like nothing else - I go out and buy a stack of TPBs, and then I go read them all at work! Had to get two more today just to keep up and even then I already read one!

Picked up Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and Batman: Thrillkiller. Public Enemies is great, extremely funny jokes, especially with regard to Power Girl, and a great inner voice interplayed between the two main characters. It does feel a little short though, which is only bad because it's so good.

Next, I think I wanna get Knightfall - Part One: Broken Bat.

Hey man, watch what you say about my beloved Saturn - mine's still plugged in!

I've been playing a lot of Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country lately (on my XBox SNES Emulator) - pretty damn sweet games.

I'm still looking forward to having a Wii (get it?!). Man, doesn't that PS3 look like a debacle?

Has anyone heard about Gaiman's latest project? He's doing some type of series about The Eternals. This is a series originally created by Jack Kirby in the 70's. Was just doing some reading on them...seems to be right up Gaiman's alley.

So is it a remake or a continuation?

Coincidentally enough, I just watched a video interview with Gaiman, and by the sounds of things, there's no way he'd do a remake of anything. Ever. So I think it's safe to assume it's a brand new thing. It's supposed to be seven stories, drawn by seven different artists (six of which he's never worked with before, but has always wanted to), based on the seven figures (Death, Destiny, Desire, etc.). I'm pretty sure they're all set in different time periods throughout the Sandman continuity. One of them, he said, was the earliest Sandman story chronologically (something to do with the creation of the universe). Anyway, looks like he took it very seriously returning to something that a) he loved so much and b) so many other people loved so much - he didn't want to make something that would tarnish his readers' memories of Sandman, and he said that he is proud of it, and he believes that it stands up to all of his previous works.

Chactacters that represent you

After devouring comic upon comic over the last few months, I have decided that if I was a superhero, I'd probably be the Green Lantern. Mostly because I think I have a really vivid imagination. As soon as someone tells me something, I imagine it immediately - a blessing and a curse - no matter how beautiful or gross it is. Unfortunately, my friends are aware of this strength/weakness and take advantage of it - describing vile scenes for me to imagine immediately upon hearing them - try imagining a naked old woman (in this case, my former school teacher!) covered in custard and see how your stomach holds up.

Of course, if I had the power ring, I'd probably not save the world a whole lot - I'd be too distracted creating beautiful artworks and music without the middleman (my hands).
