Should there be an ULTIMATE EDITION!

First of all the trilogy dvd quality sucks. The movies had so many errors its heart breaking. Some I came with a few ideas.

1. They should use obi from I,II and III in the trilogy. This way they can change alot of things that really need to be changed. If they use him they could show that he recognizes r2 & 3po but doen't say it. The lightsaber fight between vader & obi in IV ANH sucks! They can redo it with him to make it a little better but not to stunty and sword twisting like I,II and III. So that means vader would have to change too. Which would be good because vaders helmet looks like crap in IV. They can place a better looking vader in IV (not changing the scenes just vader). Also in VI ROTJ obi could tell luke that he promise to train anakin (promised Qui Gon in I).

2. LIGHTSABERS! what went wrong with that. Man pick a color please, are they red or pink, green or blue. In I,II and III the lightsabers look perfect and have the right color. That really needs to change in the trilogy. When the lightsabers touch you should see that bright light and here that sound more clearer. Where is the orange burn mark when the saber slices something (when luke gets his hand cut off - when vader gets his hand cut off or when luke is slicing all those guys on jabbas ship in VI).

3. I think all the space travel, starship fights should be CGI ( all space scenes including the deathstar). Look how perfect all the space fights, starships and planets looked in I,II and III. I wouldn't mind a CGI yoda either.

4. Stormtroopers should have the same voice from I,II and III.

5. They should replace the unmasking scene in VI with a burnt deformed Hayden like in III. I think they should use the same voice still (a voice over sounds like it would work).

These changes and a few more sounds good. What do you think?

2007 or 2008 - "STAR WARS TRILOGY ULTIMATE ANIVERSARY EDITION - HD DVD" (with all of the changes)

I wish George Lucus would read this and make it happen

Man, way to get lynched around here! I'm surprised by the restraint of my fellow members! Perhaps the only change I would support would be something along the lines of consistent lightsaber colours. I'm not sure what I would think of re-rotoscoping them altogether: the lightsabers of the prequels are far too 'solid' looking and detract from the spiritual undertones of the weapon's symbolism.

But I've read crazier wishlists than yours from fans of the PT, so hold your breath - the changes you seek are probably on the horizon. Perhaps giving us the OOT is LFL's green-light to further alter the trilogy.

I hear that man, I totally hear that (you are talking to someone who wants to be either a professional musican or an animator, or both)

I want to be either a professional musician or writer or poet or video game reviewer or firefighter!

Why do you say that? They each got unique units that were similar in power.

Increasing Goliath missile range and Siege Tank blast radius, as well as Valkyries not only cemented Terran's air superiority, it really tipped the whole game in their favour...

Trust me, I could destroy anyone with the Zerg.

But yeah I see what you mean, I had forgotten/didn't know about the other stuff they changed.

I bet you couldn't beat a psycho Korean player, though
But then again, who can?

Let's not forget the medics as well, effectively eliminating the Zerg heal-over-time and Protoss shield-regeneration advantage - this is what balanced the game! The Zerg had the weakest & cheapest units, but they could regenerate; the Terran had the middle-of-the-road units that weren't too costly, but had medium health; and the Protoss had the expensive units with shields that could regenerate over time.

And then there's the 'improvements' they made to the Science Vessel (once a minor, tactical annoyance; now an instrument of mass Zerg death), making Irradiate contagious to all other organic units (read: pretty much just every Zerg unit)! As if they weren't annoying enough as detectors and such, now they get sent to destroy hordes of slow, defensless Overlords (all of Zerg's eggs are in this one weak basket - transport, detector AND unit capacity).

So yeah, thus ends my bitching session on the inequities of Brood Wars (okay, maybe not). I too was a Zerg player, so I especially didn't appreciate the expansion - although the Lurkers were a good idea, the Zerg's new air-to-air units sucked (so suckful I forgot their names, and they still needed to be babysat by Mutalisks and Overlords to be of any use).

On the other topic...I am capable of using dual analog controllers like that of the XBox (couple friends enjoy Halo's split-screen Slayer), but I feel much more comfortable using a single analog and action buttons or, even better, keyboard and mouse.

It looks too close to being finished for it not to be a launch title. But hey, if they delay it, it'll probably turn out even more awesome...

Each kanji has about three or four different interpretations, as a word, as its Chinese root, as its Japanese root, and as the individual sound it creates when used in a word. And the sound it creates is almost always easier to write in hiragana or katakana. You can use a three-stroke hiragana symbol or use a 15-stroke kanji symbol that can be interpreted the same way. Aaah, it's crazy!

That part of the language is most difficult, but in reality, it's still one of the easiest languages to learn verbally. Mostly because a) the character's names are exactly how they sound, b) you don't have to learn (or unlearn) different pronounciations/readings for letters and words that you normally use (as per European languages), and c) Japanese follows its own grammatical rules more often than it doesn't. Kanji does get complicated (I'm learning some general rules that should help me decipher new kanji), but Kanji aside, it is easy to learn how to read and write it as well. And I say 'easy' in comparison to European languages, etc.

With respect to Kanji, you'd be surprised how much of it you can pick up whilst in the country. I learned heaps of new Kanji just from reading city names on road signs and signs at the train station. Most of the city names are written in Kanji with Romaji underneath it. If I didn't know what a fragment of a city name was, I'd just ask one of my Japanese friends. For instance, I knew that 'ta' or 'da' means 'field'. There was a part of Osaka called 'Umeda', which I figured from the Kanji meant '_______ - field', so I asked a Japanese friend what 'ume' was and they told me it meant 'plum', so I correctly deduced that the town called 'Umeda' literally means 'plum-fields'.

LOL, how funny is it when Mufasa reminds Simba that "I am your father, and you are my son; the one true king"?!

TOGETHER WE CAN DESTROY THE EMPEROR AND RULE THE GALAXY* AS FATHER AND SON!

Yeah, that's the way I will want to do it, too, but when we get into things like sword slashing and gun shooting, I'll want to use the Wiimote with my left, but I've never had any experience using an analog stick in my right hand. You get where I'm going?

LOL at the 'Pii' cartoon BTW...

I'm used to analogues in both hands, having owned an XBox, so it won't be an issue for me. Sword-slashing and gun-shooting? Well, I have light guns for my Saturn and I switch hands when I get tired, so that's not a problem for me either. But I get where you're coming from still, it'll take a little bit of getting used to - it's a right hander's world - and if it's one thing us lefties are good at, it's getting used to things...

And redbaron, I can think of good things for both the expansion and the original. The original is well, original, and nothing is better than the original right? But the expansion has new features (creatures and what not) that allows the player to be more unique in their play style.

Yeah, I don't mind the expansion, it's just that I thought it threw out the delicate balance of the three races.

Wow... was that Mark Hamill doing the Emperor's voice? That or the the guy who does Quagmire's voice... eaither way it was damn familiar sounding.

I love the fact that they subtlely referenced the fact that Vader was stuck out in interstellar space in that TIE of his for God knows how long..

IT WAS INDEED MARK HAMILL DOING THE VOICE OF THE EMPEROR.

I don't know. I'd say that's Seth McFarlane doing his quasi-Quagmire as Palpy. MH has done Robot Chicken in the past, but it just doesn't sound like him to me. The milk out the nose guy sounds like Seth Green. That would make sense, as it's his show and both Seths work together regularly. DAYV, where did you read that it was MH?

Seth McFarlane AND Seth Green?! What is this, the Rule of Two?!

Yeah, that's what I mean. In all sincerity, I want this film, more than any other this year, to be good. I really do.

Having said that, I sincerely wanted the Star Wars prequels to be good, right to the last as well.

Other films I really want to be good (but I'm not holding my breath):

Casino Royale
Indy 4
and
Pirates of the Caribbean 2
