This is true. All of the naysayers beforehand (mostly under-13 year old prequel fans) were of the mentality, when they said that we (mature OOT-lovers that we are) should be grateful with what we have yada yada yada. But this is not a consumer mentality - that's the mentality of someone who has been GIVEN something, for FREE (and that's probably what happened in the case of under-13 year old PT fans - from their parents). But we're not getting something for free. We are PAYING MONEY that we SWEATED, BLED, and CRIED over, for GOODS and SERVICES, and thus, it is not unfair to expect a quality product and satisfaction.

But I think what we're failing to see is that despite all the announcements and hoopla, the OOT will be 'Bonus Materials' in a DVD set, not the main deal, and it will probably be treated as such by LFL. Just a bunch of extras.

To add to what I've already said, there is a classic Superman 'look' as well that is present in all the comics. Broad jawline, big build, thick, black hair (let's not forget the cow-lick), brilliant blue eyes - they should be pre-requisites - and Reeve had them all...Surely, there must be someone in the world with these features who can act.

It would be absolutely impossible to play without crushing it! Very biting though, I loved it - he seemed to take it well...

Given that they restarted Batman, coincidentally after two crap movies, based it on the comics (albeit an amalgalm of a lot of comics), and restored it to its former glory - surely the logical thing to do would be to take EXACTLY the same approach to Superman after two shoddy movies! There are two comics in particular which would have been perfect for a page-for-page screen adaptation: Superman for All Seasons and Superman: Birthright. Birthright in particular would have been a fresh and new approach with a brave retelling of the superhero's origins - hell, it would even save the continuity of Smallville from being trodden all over - not that I would have cared either way, but commercially, if you can make both comic book fans and Smallville fans happy at the same time, you're laughing.

A lot of good points. Nintendo IS a gaming company. It may be their success and their failure, but on the flipside of the coin, all of their effort and focus is on that industry. Microsoft has to develop the next Windows, Office, and other computer software whilst Sony has to design sound systems, electronics and such. Nintendo are working within their means and prospering while Sony and Microsoft are struggling to make a profit.

To throw even more light on this idea, it appears that Sony is taking a huge risk with the PS3, putting all of its eggs (including the Blu-Ray egg) into this basket:

Given the fact that the console will be a completely different experience and will most likely be dirt cheap I'll definitely pick one up.

Fanboys and nostalgia whores aside, the industry hasn't been this appealing in ages.


I suppose Nintendo does have a fair amount of financial stability. At one point they could have simply lived off Game Boy and Pokémon,and they probably still could. I'm just glad that they still feel compelled to innovate.

For all the other reasons I mentioned earlier, the balance was still thrown off WAY in Terran's favour.

Actually i have a confession to make--i watched the SE of ESB last night. I've always loved the original Fett voice and was appaled to hear Jango Fett in place of him in 2004. But last night...i didn't mind. In fact...I found it suitable. Whats going on??

A new Sin City movie I would definitely dig. A new Daredevil? Only if it's based page-for-page on the work of Frank Miller.

To tell you the truth, I liked X-Men, but mostly for Jackman's interpretation of Wolverine. A lot of the other characters didn't sit quite right with me. McKellen as Magneto, even though I don't believe he looked right, worked enough for me. Cyclops was pretty dead on, but did they have to make him a full-on jerk? Can't they let us decide whether we're gonna like him or not? Rogue was all wrong to my mind - where's that hot, bubbly Southern girl I know and love? Those were my main beefs, aside from Sabretooth being a disposable sidetrack (give us a real Wolverine/Sabretooth conflict sub-story).

X-2 bored me, it really did. I fell asleep in the middle of it the last time I saw it. It just had no depth. A lot of people probably disagree with me, but that's what I felt.

I still want X-3 and Superman Returns to be awesome, but I have my doubts about Returns. Why couldn't they have started again and instead try to evoke the spirit of the Donner iterations?

Good. I want Sony out of the race, to be frank. They're responsible for pushing the other innovators - Sega - out of the console business. And in all honesty, for all the mainstream awareness the PSX gave videogames; it also unleashed a maelstrom of crappy games (not to mention a culture of poorly-designed and faulty hardware). I knew PSX owners that had to turn their systems upside down to get them to work within 3 years of owning one. And 14 years later, my Megadrive still works. 'Nuff Said.
