Okay, thanks, can the plugin be used for blasters as well?
Okay, thanks, can the plugin be used for blasters as well?
Hehe.
I'm looking for some software that'll allow me to keyframe my lightsabres, just so I can test the yellow sabre in motion etc. Eventually I'll rotoscope it frame by frame to get a nice consistent sabre for the final edit.
Nice, what effects do you use to get the lightsabres?
Okay? If you wanted it green, why not just get the original version from the film, the yellow sabre is my recolour...
I'll probably have a trailer/the opening 10 minutes up within a fortnight, maybe a bit longer depending on my other commitments.
Anyways, despite my edits being inspired primarily by this thread, I've become distracted from the topic at hand. My thoughts on the N-1 and Jedi Starfighter recolours are that they are awesome. They now have the retro, OT feel that the PT lacked throughout, and they are mostly consistent with the OT ships, well done DuTwan.
Not as of yet, I'm going to be doing all of the PT, trying to make them feel more OT, and more Star Wars. I need to find a good base, maybe even one with some colour correction and/or minor edits.
SomethingStarWarsRelated said:Wow this sounds sweet! I've been think about ROTS along the same lines...
but the Windu/Fett fight in ROTS? I had never thought of that...could work really well...
What software will you be using for editing and effects?
At this stage probably Adobe After Effects and Vegas. With a bit of help from Photoshop for certain parts. I'm yet to decide what to use as a base, at this stage probably 720p versions. I don't know what to use to create a new sound mix, any suggestions?
Those are amazing. Just as good as your N-1, and they carry the OT feel that many people missed in the PT. Well done.
Yellower?
Great DuTwan, I'll be glad to see how this turns out.
Furthermore, I've been thinking about Boba and Jango, and have considered making them comrades, and having both appear in my AOTC edit. Mace Windu will still behead Jango, but Boba will be incapacitated until after the Battle of Geonosis, at which point he will align himself with Tyranus, and in turn Palpatine. Then, he will be present in the Great Jedi Purge, and he will be the one to kill Mace Windu, with the Palpatine and Anakin scene taking place with Aayla Secura instead.
I also plan to change ROTS radically. I want to make all the scenes that follow pre-Vader Anakin occur before the last half an hour, after the Battle of Heroes we will see scenes with Vader executing Jedi, and eventually destroying the Jedi Temple. All this will take place without so much as a word about Anakin actually being Vader.
Absolutely brilliant. I commend your work, and hope that I'll be able to borrow your designs in my edit (provided I don't switch over to Headhunters). I'd love to see what you'd do with Jedi Starfighters.
Another shot of Qui-Gon with his sabre yellow. What do you think?
That's amazing, well done. If that could be put over N-1 starfighters I'd have no problem with them. Presumably the red could be blue, green, etc. to allow for different squadrons.
The trouble is finding shots without saber effects, so that I can get the effects right, without worrying about the glow from the original effect.
Qui-Gon with a yellow saber. What do you think?
Well, the panelled Y-wing would be a good start, especially seeing as there are plenty of pictures to go off.
Just as a side note, I'd like to draw attention to this:

Despite what GL says, I think that it would be good to see Boba participating in the Great Jedi Purge towards the end of ROTS.
Do you mean of Rebellion starfighters in their prime?
Do you mean something akin to the Y-wing with its panels intact?
I like that idea. I also think that by the end of the Clone Wars there should be TIE Fighters, or something before TIE Fighters flying about for the Republic.
Whoa. That looks... Complex.
Back on topic...
I see what you mean about the N-1. I like your thoughts about them being ceremonial, and small. But I still think that they could have a fleet of Z-95, or something else, to use in engagements, perhaps with pilots in N-1 leading the squadrons.
Also, I feel the ground battle needs a lot of work. Jar Jar needs to be cut down to a soldier, who seriously understands what he's fighting for, and what he is facing. I also feel that throughout, the battle droids need to have their dialogue redubbed, except when talking to non-droids, and their role changed slightly.
My personal favourite Star Wars ship, the Z-95 Headhunter. I think it would work well for the Naboo. Especially if given stripes for colour, and astromech droids. It's also a lot cheaper than the luxury N-1 Starfighters.
Republic era Millenium Falcon...
If someone could make either a 3D model of this, or an actual model, then it could be used for a scene or two.
Also, I might add, I'd like to see the shots of the stars streaking past the windows of the ships from the OT, put back into the PT.
In the Battle for Naboo, perhaps the Naboo could piloting X-Wings, or early Y-Wings, in pristine condition instead of the curvy things they have in the cut we have now. And also, maybe a few shots of the Millenium Falcon wouldn't go astray. Perhaps have it somewhere in Episode II, being used by Clone Troopers.
I'm toying with the idea of recolouring Qui-Gon's lightsabre to yellow. To make him more of a Jedi Sentinel type character that I feel would go along better with the Qui-Gon I've created in my edit. Thoughts?
Nice job on the recolours there. Would it be possible to apply those effects to some actual footage?
I see your point, and my idea to put Dooku in as the bad guy is probably not the best, but I still like the idea for the dual sabres.
