Whether or not the idea is similar to Ady's or not falls away, as it is the implementation of the idea. I have a very specific vision for Star Wars, and I'm not saying Ady's versions aren't spectacular, because they are, but what I want is something different, a definitive version, for myself.

It's been a while since this thread was posted in, but I'd just like to say, ChainsawAsh, I can see this becoming my definitive version of the OT, it sounds good, and what you've done so far is good. Will you be using the deleted Jabba scene that comes after the Greedo scene?

Crawl fixed to restore music cues, whilst retaining the “A New Hope”, done in a style akin to ChainsawAsh’s titles.

Colour correction of the whole film (using Adywan’s Purist Version).

All blaster and lightsaber effects redone. New miniatures/CGI for opening battle, and Jawa sandcrawler.

When Vader strangles the Rebel, have the Imperial March playing.

Beru’s original voice restored.

Re-edit the ‘Tell me about my father.” conversation, Obi-wan now hesitates and thinks about his answer to Luke, trying to explain it, to justify the lie.

ChainsawAsh’s Mos Eisley scene, or something akin except KEEP the CGI aspects of Mos Eisley, I for one really enjoyed the addition of Womp Rats, Rontos, the whole Jawa thing.

Han shoots first, restore the theatrical version almost completely.

All subtitles in original positions and fonts.

The deleted Jabba scene restored, Jabba recoloured to match ROTJ.

Falcon’s engines restored.

All the continuity and cut errors fixed with Luke’s lightsaber training.

Make it much harder to get to the control room, have Han and Chewie taking out more of the Stormtroopers on the way.

Have several Stormtroopers speak in Kiwi accents throughout, to make it clearer that these are the same troopers from the PT.

The Obi-wan/Vader duel is slightly longer, and themes from the duel in ROTS are added.

Re-modelling the Falcon/TIE battle.

The Rebel’s secret base is now changed to be more complex.

The entire assault on the Death Star is restored to the theatrical version, except the lasers, which are improved.

When the Death Star explodes, we see the theatrical explosion, contained within the SE explosion, with huge chunks of Death Star flying outwards.

The final scene matches the Revisited version, except we don’t see a shiny new Artoo, he’s still a bit beaten up because the Rebel’s are so short-supplied.

Double.

Yeah, but Adywan's version wasn't enough like the Enhanced edition I was thinking.

I think that ANH needs an "Enhanced Edition" that fixes errors in the Theatrical version, as well as the countless errors of judgement from the 2004 editions.

I think the PT needs to be set up to mirror the OT, if that makes sense. In Episode 1, we should see a scenario similar to ANH, Clones should see the shit hit the fan, akin to ESB, and Revenge should see something similar to Jedi, if the Emperor had won.

Does anyone else think that perhaps Grievous should have some Vader-esque breathing, in an edit where Vader's identity is less obvious? What I mean is, where he coughs, he should take Vader breaths, and then when Anakin gets left on Mustafar, we don't see Palpers comingand helping him, we just see Vader being built, leaving it ambiguous as to whether Grievous or Anakin is Vader. To aid this perhaps also have Obi-Wan say something along the lines of, "You were my first apprentice." to Grievous, during their duel, so as to leave the ANH talking about Vader, seem more like Obi-wan is ashamed for killing Anakin.

Has anyone done inside covers? Particularly for the PT.

So, I have a new project on the cards, after reading this [BATMAN FOREVER RECUT]. I want to try and restore a bit of this edit, as well as integrating my own ideas. I’m going to cut in the Arkham scenes from the start, and the Red Book scenes, as well as creating a feel that is more like the comic books, including making Two-Face more faithful to his coin flips, and cutting silly dialogue and shots.

I may also do some recolouring to make the Riddler/Two-face scenes brighter, whilst making Batman a darker character, literally in this case.

Thoughts?

DuTwan, your amazing Grievous is what I want to use for just the regular battle droids. I was wondering if you could try the lines of the battle droids in the Negotiations scene, just so I can see how it works.

On another note, I also need someone who can do a protocol droid voice, THAT IS DISTINCT FROM THREEPIO, I cannot stress this enough.

I had a thought, the one thing that needs to be changed the most in the PT is the reveals in the OT. The main one being, Vader is Anakin. I have thought of ways to fix this, and all I've come up with is to simply remove all references to Anakin being Vader, and completely redo the Jedi Purge scene.

Vader needs to be a mystery, I want a PT where the Saga order can be maintained.

On the topic of sound mixes, what are peoples thoughts about using the Shadows of the Empire soundtrack? I remember the first time I heard it, and I had images of a utopian past for the OT, including temples and Jedi, and all sorts of things that you can see shadows of in the OT.

I think it would probably integrate well, what do you think?

Here's a thought for some Prequel improvement, a brand new score half made up of music from the OT, a quarter the themes currently there, and a quarter new music.

Great work, as usual, vaderios, I'm seriously looking at trying a full colour correction of TPM, before finishing TPS.

I think that some people will love rainbow sabres,and others won't, it's just a matter of choice, personally I'll be releasing mine both ways.

Here's the thing, my edit is mine, I'm not trying to satisfy anyone else.

I concur, to a degree, I still want to give Qui-Gon, Aayla, and Plo Koon yellow lightsabres, because they are different, also Aayla and Plo Koon are my favourite characters.

Sir and lord both sound like good alternatives, once I have a voice picked out, I can start working on the dialogue itself, beyond these initial plans. I'm looking at finding an arrangement of the opening theme that goes for 2 minutes, as my crawl is longer than the original. I've also worked in the Imperial March at various places, first in scenes with the droid invasion, and then again in several scenes with Anakin.

I've found a way to record the Neimodian lines, the alien language is in the vain of this:

I'm just unsure of what kind of effect I'm going for. I was thinking a fast, random, cilck track, over the top of white noise that has a "Wahwah" effect applied, but I'm having trouble generating a random click track. Does anyone have any ideas as to that?

The way I've always imagined it, is that all the droid commanders and the like were sent the orders, and they relayed it on to the battle droids.
